30 The Dragon's Ring's Approval

"Don't change the subject." Su Luo realized Nangong Liuyun had distracted her. She returned to the topic and continued to question him, asking, "How did you know about the Dragon's Ring? Moreover, is it true that whatever happened to me is somehow related to the Dragon's Ring?"

"It is very much related. Significantly so." Nangong Liuyun's voice was soft with a tinge of playfulness. Reclining comfortably on the chair and looking at Su Luo, he spoke to her as if he was in charge, saying, "I'm so thirsty."

Su Luo knew he was trying to mess with her on purpose, as he had just reached the most important part of his story.

Su Luo snorted quietly to herself. She despised such character and behavior. Yet she grinned from ear to ear and cheerfully poured some water into a chipped porcelain teacup. "I don't have any tea leaves—only water. You'll have to make do without," she told Nangong Liuyun.

"To whom are you serving water?" Nangong Liuyun asked. He sat cross-legged and smiled mischievously.

D*mn it. What a hard-to-please jerk.

Su Luo cursed him internally while the grin on her face grew even bigger. "Please enjoy the water, Prince Jin, Your Highness."

To her surprise, Nangong Liuyun was still being difficult. He waved his hand arrogantly, turned his back on her, and said in contempt, "It doesn't sound intimate enough."

This guy...!

Clenching her teeth, Su Luo managed to remain smiling. She enunciated every word, saying, "Nangong Liuyun, will you drink it now?"

"Liuyun, or Yun." Nangong Liuyun lazily hinted to her.

Su Luo clenched her fist and slammed the teacup on the table with a bang. She crossed her arms across her chest and shot him a scornful glance. "Have you had enough fun?" Did he really think he was the master in the room?

Seeing Su Luo was done playing, Nangong Liuyun crawled to her and held her in his arms with a broad grin. "Luoluo, you're so petty. Not fun at all."

"Then go find some other girls you think are fun to play with." Su Luo ignored him and turned her face away from him.

"How could I? I only want to annoy you." Thick-skinned, Nangong Liuyun was smiling. He behaved like a submissive and shameless rogue.

Su Luo couldn't get angry at him when he acted like that.

She looked back toward Nangong Liuyun and stared at him without flinching.

Was this the same legendary Prince Jin who was said to be cruel, wicked, and oppressive?

Was this the same Nangong Liuyun who could destroy his enemies in a flash?

Was this the same second prince of East Hill who had severe mysophobia and would mutilate or kill anyone who dared to touch him?

Judging by his lazy and carefree look, how could this really be the peerless powerhouse with extraordinary talent?

This was not right!

Could this guy have also been replaced by a time-traveler? Su Luo wondered as she studied him without blinking.

Nangong Liuyun started to feel uneasy under Su Luo's gaze. He trembled and asked in a weak voice, "What do you want?"

"I want to cut you open and see if you've been replaced inside," Su Luo replied, irritated.

"Ugh?"

"Ugh, what? Can you tell me now? What on earth does the Dragon's Ring have to do with what happened to me? Spare me the suspense." Su Luo was extremely frustrated with him constantly changing the topic and going off on tangents.

Nangong Liuyun also felt like he had played with her enough for today. He reckoned the girl would freak out if he continued to mess with her.

He moved close to Su Luo and looked at her keenly, a shred of jealousy showing, and said, "This matter is in fact very complicated. Fortune does favor fools."

When it came to luck, who else in the world could have better luck than Su Luo?

Meeting Su Luo's expectant eyes, Nangong Liuyun smiled mysteriously and said, "Girl, do you know what the approval from the Dragon's Ring represents?"
