Chapter 102 - 2.63

She didn't know how things turned out to be in that world, but judging by how she was back in here, Zenith didn't succeed. How bad was it? A grim expression was plastered on her face.

"..This is why I said love was nonexistent. This is why- Love is a trap. It's all a shitty trap! That fucking Goddess- I swear to God. Haah..." Xu Jiaqi couldn't resist cursing endlessly. She thought that she was wary enough, but her perception towards love was truly weak. She couldn't capture the Goddess' true intentions.

She let out a loud sigh. The System hurriedly floated to her, not knowing how to proceed from his current position.

[H-Host...] The System was also considerably affected by the change in Xu Jiaqi's emotions. He could feel how angry the Host was. How frustrated she was.

"...I'm tired. Leave me alone for a bit." Xu Jiaqi bit her lips in frustration. She didn't like this at all. This conclusion. The fact that the ending got out of control. That she couldn't do anything to direct it in the slightest.

She stayed focused. Seconds piled up into a mountain and turned into hours. Xu Jiaqi kept hammering peace into herself until she was sure that her heart was as calm as unbending mountains.

She called the System over, wanting to look for clarification. The System had been readying himself up for the explanations and gradings. He waited for this call to come up since Xu Jiaqi sent him away.

"Are the grades ready?" she asked.

[Yes, Host. Please take a look. Congratulations, you have finished with flying colors this time too.] The System presented Xu Jiaqi with several System notification windows that elapsed over Xu Jiaqi's vision.

Xu Jiaqi skimmed over the data and narrowed her eyes.

SS+. The highest grade possible. Even so, Xu Jiaqi was not at least satisfied. Because the ending that she ended up reaching was not one that she desired for.

"System, let's have a long talk." The grades were not of high priority to Xu Jiaqi in the first place, she just wanted to make sure that her score was exemplary. She didn't bother looking over the small details.

The System was a bit frightened, but replied positively and accompanied Xu Jiaqi.

"First off.. Let's start with the Goddess Eula. She's a deity that knows transmigrators.. And also seemed to know Zenith when he revealed his powers. Do you know something about that?" Xu Jiaqi glared at the System for a few seconds, but she realized that the System was also just as troubled as she was. He wasn't at fault. In fact, the System had been a very good partner in assisting and supporting her work.

She took a long breath, calming down as she controlled her emotions. It wasn't like her to get out of control like this, but having to end up in such a sorry state made her heavily disturbed.

[T-The Gods and Goddesses all have divinity. No matter what realm they hail from, the divinity that they possess will be the same.. An energy called 'Aura'. Aura is.. akin to mana, but it is in a much higher and stabler form. Aura is the purest form of mana, one that can't be dispersed no matter how much you use it. Someone's Aura will be identical to none.. And this is probably why Goddess Eula recognized Zenith.]

A distinct Aura. The  cool mist that Zenith used back then. That must be his Aura.

"So the power Zen used in our last moments was Aura? Doesn't that mean.. he's a deity?"

A deity who had lost his memories.. Or rather, had to lose his memories in order to accomplish something. To seek her out? Not Ariel Maine, but instead.. Xu Jiaqi herself. Xu Jiaqi's soul. Zenith only recovered his memory at the last second, but he knew things that she didn't. He knew that he had failed to protect her 'again'.

It meant that there were previous occasions.

Just what kind of past did she have, that she was able to be acquainted with a literal deity and garner his affection?

[Host.. I'm extremely sorry. I'm not able to tell you much. Your authority is not sufficient for the moment, but you are on the right track. Please understand my conditions as well..] The System was under pressure. He knew the answer to Xu Jiaqi's question.

Zenith's Aura.. It was something that couldn't be mistaken for something else. Even within the countless sea of many Auras, Zenith's one stood out.

"..Don't worry. I don't plan on blaming you. I know that you're working under another entity.. It's understandable." Xu Jiaqi pursed her lips. She had expected for everything to be covered up.

From the reactions that happened in that time, clearly Zenith was not just a simple person, but rather a great deity. Even the Goddess acted weirdly. She was distraught, and her words implied that Zenith was someone stronger than her. The only reason he would lose was because Zenith took a mortal form.

[...Thanking Host for being reasonable.] The System burst with happiness upon receiving Xu Jiaqi's response. He was quite frightened because he heard from other Systems that there were many Hosts that became entitled extremely quick, thinking that they owned their Systems and that they ruled over every other thing just because of the privilege they got being an agent.

Xu Jiaqi was of course, not someone who would do such a disgraceful thing.
