157 5.46 Setting Up A Manpower's Schedule and Deployment..

When the managers returned, they could not contain their excitement and all of then burst out their findings and shares with us.

"CFO-san and CEO-san, we brought you some good news! it's about the horses that we went to inquire."

Miroku started the topic and was excited about it.

"We were walking at the trading district when we saw the stable boys for the Samurai Shogunate. They were awed by the medallion that was hung on our necks."

"We told them that it was given as an honour for the service to the country as well as Fasuto Japan. When they heard about the medallion as a reward for the services rendered for the country, they were very glad for us."

Hide added.

"They asked where we were heading and told them we are looking for good strong horses for our expedition and the stable boys wanted to help. And do you know what CEO-san and CFO-san? We do not need to buy a horse anymore because each horse costs 100 good coins for a 2-year-old buck."

Toshi exclaimed excitedly.

"The stable boys decided to lease the horses to us for just 3 gold coins a month only. And we could return the horses back to the stable and take them whenever we need them."

Kami said as he blessed for the good tidings.

"Wow! Your medallion already taking effect and has brought you and our good luck. Not only could we save money, but also save on maintenance of the horses." remarked Hiko-sama as good luck had turned towards the managers and the corporation.

"That's right Seniors, kindness begets kindness and evil begets evil. We perform kindness to people, and we receive kindness from God above"

"Wow! A really auspicious banner! Red and gold go well along. Red represents prosperity and gold represents wealth. I like it very much!" Miroku was examining the banner and was nodding his head in full appreciation.

"Tomorrow evening after dinner, we would be letting some fireworks and rockets fly in the sky and there are 4 slow burning roman circular roman candles, 10 rockets and lots of smoky sparklers to pass to the girls and children around."

"Wow, that's very good indeed. Both of you had really thought of everything."

"Right, here's four sketchpads, copy down what CEO-san has written and then, we discuss again over supper on which matters we are going to attend first since we do not have products on our hands yet except for the [Refined Iron] plates."

"Dinner would be served by the girls soon and do join us later."

I mentioned it and the managers all were too happy to reject. A messenger came by and I sent a note to the sake house to send another 6 jars and paid him. It is good to know that these messengers come by every half hour to run their businesses.

Hiko-sama updated our to-do-list and states the following:

1. Clear the 600 pieces of [Refined Iron] plates and stack them on the pallet

4. Knock the 5 Scented Soap into their own groupings and place them on pallets totalling to 300 bars per scent.

As these plates would be placed on the pallets, we could transport it once the warehouse and our little Realm of Mind room are ready. By then we arrange 500 plates per pallet for the easy count.

Then we will work on the Karada Soap and stack as many batches as we could before midnight. To avoid confusion and a certain mixup, each scent would be placed on a pallet.

After a short discussion, the managers decided to move out tomorrow by first light so that they could go and enquire about those critical matters such as gathering information on the number of blacksmiths and cosmetic shops.

The managers also would be gathering info from the treasury on interbank or cheque transfers as well as the rent of a locale.

They would also inquire from the governmental District about opening a satellite office there and its procedures.

I told the managers to wait a while to get something. I went to my bedroom and gone into a meditative to enter the Realm of Mind and fetched 4 pieces of [Refined Iron] plates and then return to the real world and back to the garden front.

I showed the 4 pieces of Refined Iron plates as part of their discussion deal. A maximum order of 500 pieces [Refined Iron] could be arranged at a price of 5 gold pieces each.

The managers took the plate and held the weight that was around 200-300 grams each. And at 500 pieces going at 5 gold each, it would fetch a total income of 2,500 gold coins. They were determined to set out as soon as possible for the Blacksmith shops in the first 2 towns.

Dinner was served by the girls and all 6 men were having dinner outside. Sake soon arrived and I paid for it. I asked Izumi how was the progress and she said that all paper bags had been completed making. They had made bundles of 50s using strips of cloth to tie them up and they counted that they had 30 bundles altogether.

I mentioned thanks to them and invited them for supper later but Izumi mentioned that they had leftovers from afternoon tea and would be consuming it.

I nodded and after a bow, Izumi left to join dinner with the other girls. I thought to myself that the girls worked a total of 1,500 bags for about 6 hours. Which means the girls would be able to package the same amount of Karada Soap within the same hour.

The girls would be able to complete the whole job within 6 days, and by that time they could do their work in the warehouse instead of in 2 days time once the warehouse is ready.

I went over to the girls to rest early because tomorrow would be another 1,500 paper bags to fold for the floor cleaning agent. They understood and went about their tasks.

I excused myself as I told the managers that I need to attend to some matters and went to my room and mediated to enter the Realm of Mind. I went to the soap production area after swiping the Blacksmith one to the side. Since the girls are here already, I decided to change my mode of production. Instead of having individual mould in the next round, it would be replaced by a moulding set with these dimensions 12x3x3 and would have 3 mould slots each.

In this case, the girls need to cut 4 equal sizes per mould slot. The preparation procedure is much faster as we do not need to wait for 24 hours for the base soap to be mixed. The speed of the mixer would be turned up high and once it became a semi-solid state, it is then time to set it on the moulding set. It's faster to produce this way and the curing process still takes a week.

The moulding sets would be straight brought up to the real world as I don't see it having any significant effect on the world.

I went to the heavy print set and took the print set mould and made the imprint "FUROA KURINA" and "Pine Scent" underneath it I placed small lettering Fasuto Japan KabushikiGaisha. I set it to print 1,500 and the next to be "Eucalyptus Scent" at the same number of prints. I run the print test and it turned out fine and headed to print like the first batch.

I soon logged from my meditative state and return to the real world.

I joined the rest of them upfront and soon we had supper and sake. I drew the new mould set roughly on the sketchpad and told Hiko-sama that this would be the next design. After curing, the girls would knock out, cut exactly the same size and wrap, saving us a few steps of knocking them out individually and arrange for them.

Hiko-sama nodded in total agreement which means we can produce more at one time and the girls would settle them one batch per day. I explain Trial and error in production improves productivity as we progress.

Hiko-sama said the word progress is a good motto for us. I then announced that whenever the managers would move out, they would cheer out "PROGRESS!" as a form of motivation. The managers all agreed to the motto as it was simple and very inspiring.

After we had checked everything and cross-checked each other sketchpad, we concluded the meeting. I passed the gold coins for the lease of the horses and the managers saluted and went back home.

I told Hiko-sama about the plans for tonight:

Prepare 3 scents of lemon, pine and eucalyptus for the shallow evaporating trays at 15 kilograms each tonight and he agreed. We packed the table and went to our bedroom and soon appeared at the Realm of Mind and set to work at the soap production area.

We worked until we had completed laying out the 3 scents that would be made into 1 kurin and 2 furoa kurina. At least we had done our initial phase and this time the curing would be even faster.

I explain that the hae shanpu would just need to mix water to make a watery thick solution and there was no curing to be done.

The kurin and furoa kurina would just need to heat the baking powder to make washing soda and mix with the blended granules from the cured sheets of soap from the evaporating tray.

Hiko-sama was astounded at how simple the process would be for the hae shanpu and powdered form and he can't help to looking forward to it.

The heavy print set was still printing and it would take another hour before it completes. We decided to leave back to the real world and take a rest. It had been 9 hours in the Realm of Mind.

We soon logged off our meditative state and returned to the real world. Each of us took turns to shower and went to rest.

In the middle of the night, I was awakened by rapping sounds on my window. I thought it was some sort of bug but then I heard someone calling me and it sounded like Izumi. I slid my window open and peered out and saw Izumi was wearing a white yakata.

"Sorry to disturb your sleep Senpai, could we have a short chat in the garden?"

"Uhhh... Hang on." I looked at the time and saw its 1235 am. "OK, let me get dressed and be right outside." I closed the sliding window and walked outside to open the main sliding door and step into the cool midnight breeze and sat at the garden.

Hiko-sama heard me chat with Izumi earlier when I open the window and he closes his eyes and smile when he heard me went to the garden.

"Hey, what's up Izumi, is everything all right? Is there anything wrong with the house or you had a quarrel with any of your sisters?"

"No... Senpai. Nothing of that sort, Senpai. Everything is fine. The home is great, there is nothing wrong in any way of it and I do not have any quarrel with the sisters at all. In fact, we are very happy to have our own home, at last, a place to call our own and also a place to work."

"Oh..I see, I thought there is something not right and that why you need to see me or something. Hmm, you still have food at home, right?"

"Yes, Senpai. We cook our meals at one time per day, so we do not need to keep cooking again. Once we settle our breakfast and for the morning, afternoon and supper, we would cook lunch and dinner at the same time. In this way, we have more time to do work for you, Senpai."

"That's good to hear that, Izumi. At least everyone knew their roots and even if you all do have these type of luxury, at least you never forget where all of you come from."

"Err...Senpai. I need to ask you a few questions if you don't mind. It's more about you and your thought and your heart."

"Oh, Okie... Go ahead and shoot. I don't really mind to open up to whoever asks me for the main purpose of their interest."

"Senpai, have you ever been with a girl? I mean, as a close friend, that has feelings with one another and you know, closer than a brother and sister kind of feelings?"

I knew where this is going and I won't know how to answer since either answer based on my last few series would have adverse effects. But I have to see myself as a kid, not as a high schooler or a working guy. This is not modern Japan nor it is Thailand.

"I am just an 11-year-old kid. I was adopted by Himeko-baba in a small settlement a 3 days horseback ride from here. I do not remember my childhood very much but Himeko-baba had taken care of me since I was a baby or a kid."

"My settlement does not have many children my age, either they are too young or slightly older and we all work in order to survive. So I do not spend a lot of time with other kids. There was nothing much to do except for finding work and finding other things to do."

"So, my time is mostly spent to learn the trades and to think like a matured person even though I am this young and Himeko-baba doesn't allow me to go out if there is nothing much to do outside. So I am more of an indoor person than a normal kid you see every day."

"This fool, I ask him a simple question and he answers me in 3 long paragraphs. It's a simple yes or no and that's it. Haiyo... This is what you expect if your MC is the author of a novel."

Izumi thought to herself as she thought that she had been ridiculed by the answers given by me.

"So, you had never been with a girl, before, am I right, Senpai?"

"Maybe baby girls or those just learnt how to walk."

"Oh... I thought you had someone special before you come here."

"Even if I do have someone special, the person might have been taken away by bandits when they pillage our old settlement before. Men and boys were killed while the bandits took the women and young girls away."

"Have you ever thought of taking revenge for them, Senpai?"

"Do not look for trouble, unless trouble looks for me first."

"Senpai, you are talking in tongues. What do you mean?"

"I mean to say that I won't go looking for them because they never leave me their names and phone number or even an email address, I won't know how to contact and find them. If we have a phone at least we can videochat first and interview them before deciding to find and annihilate them all. If I use Google Earth to find them, not finding them is like a needle in a haystack, but they are a grain of sand on the beach."

"Eh...Senpai. Your answers are getting more complicated and harder to understand. I am not sure what gibberish you are saying but I think I'm getting a headache and I think I better go back and I think I better lie down now."

"Thank you for your time, Senpai. I will see youin the morning at the break of dawn."

"Alright, have a good night sleep and take care. Sleep tight and don't let the gokiburi bite. Hahahaha."

Izumi stood up, bowed and walked back to the house. She looked back once at me, waved and went into inside.

"Haiz... If you can't beat them, simply confuse them...." I thought to myself.

I walked back to the house and when I entered, I heard Hiko-sama said to me,"Give that girl a chance, kid. I think she likes you and wants to be your friend. I won't mind though, but the age difference is too big a gap."

I lay down in my room and answered, "Regard me as an 11-year-old kid. Kids my age don't really know anything. In my past life, I had quite a number of relationship. Right now, an intimately close relationship is not what I am looking for but to build trust and friendship which is also the name of the Odachi, remember?"

"Hahahaha.... You really picked a very auspicious name for your Odachi. It goes very well with your character."

"Hahahha... That's what I thought too. Take a rest now, Sensei. We got lots of work to do tomorrow."

"Huaarrgghh...maybe I have a few cups of sake before I resume my sleep."

+-==Meanwhile, the next morning==-+

The girls were up before the rooster crow and were going about their morning business, while 3 girls had gone to the marketplace to buy their necessities. Having the girls living next door to us, and them preparing meals and including us saves quite a tidy sum of money in the long run.

It had been some time since we had hike cooked meals and I wondered what the girls intend to cook later. I stood up and does some taichi movements to stretch my muscles.

I went to the bathroom and showered and decided to change to a kimono today. I changed and then wind the pocket watch and hang it around my neck. Hiko-sama had also stirred from his sleep and prepared himself in the shower.

The scent of the Karada Soap was like perfume and after some time, it is still there and I was wondering how to make the scent last longer like a perfume. Thinking that we had hit a bottleneck right now, the idea had to be shelved.

Same goes to the mop and bucket that I wanted to design because the initial 4 days nearly broke my back when I clean the floor with a rag. Well, so much idea but so little hands now. Need to clear whatever we have in the soap production area so we could move on.

Right now the preparations for Kurin and Furoa Kurina had been processed and would be made into powders really soon. The faster we settle the Karada Soap, the better.

The girls had returned from the market and I saw Fei, Gin and Riko carrying breakfast to the garden table. It consists of yam and bananas today. It would be good to have a small Barbequed set, at least we can whip up some Barbeque to eat and I was thinking of making burgers with salad, tomatoes, Bombay onions and pickles and make chilli sauce.

Well, as I've mentioned, our main mission is to clear the soap production area.

Hiko-sama and I sat on the table and saw 4 of the managers on horseback. All the horses carried saddlebags which means the managers would be spending some time in the towns to understand the structure very well.

The managers greeted us and cheered "PROGRESS!!" before making a salute and ride off. Some passerby jumped up in surprise as they had never experienced this kind of thing ever since they had lived in Kitakata. They saw the banner on top of the warehouse door and asked Hiko-sama.

"Konichiwa Samurai-san, we cannot help notice you had quite a development here for the past week."

"Yes, and we saw a new house and a big barn behind. Who are these girls, Samurai-san? And what is Fasuto Japan KabushikiGaisha? Is that a corporation name?"

"Ah... Konichiwa... Yes, Yes... This past week had been rather busy on this ground. This is my... Cousin. He had just finished his studies and wanted to make a joint venture business with me."

"This house here is also my female cousins, I do have a big family from other cities and they wanted to come to little Kitakata to escape the hustle and bustle of busy towns."

"Ah ha... No wonder I saw new girls over in our neighbourhood. Are you setting up something, Samurai-san?"

"Ah yes, this behind you is a warehouse to store all our goods and merchandise that we are currently distributing to an agent at the cosmetic department in the trading district. Feel free to visit there by next week and asks for Karada Soap or Hae Shanpu."

"That's good to hear you are setting up your own business, Samurai-san. Yes, we will go to cosmetics next week to see what you had distributed there."

"Thank you very much, madame."

"Ok, Samurai-san, we are going off to the market to do some marketing first. See you."

The women bowed and went their way.

"Sensei, it seems you are getting along fine too with the ladies. Remember to keep your medallion polished. Hehehehe"

"Hahahaha... You ain't too bad yourself, kid."

"Alright, Sensei. I will go and collect the paper for the Furoa Kurina first to make the bags and I will let the printer run for another scent."

"Alright, I would be here in the garden as usual."

I hurriedly drank my tea and then I headed to my bedroom, got into my meditative state and went into the Realm of Mind and after setting the new print set for the next Furoa Kurina, I logged off from my meditative state and return to the real world with another stack if 1,500 paper meant to be made into paper bags.

I set it aside at the main door and asked some of the girls to carry them in once they had finished cooking. I told them this is a different batch and should not mix with the one from last night.

The girls nodded and began to carry the stacks of paper back to their house and resume their work after they had their breakfast.

The ones they had prepared had been set aside in one of the corners and it won't mix with the ones that were going to work on today.

Slightly before 830 am, 10 men who had to work on the warehouse project arrived. They were happy and joyous and greeted us the moment they entered the household. They proceeded to the warehouse and informed that the cement had been properly cured and would be putting the pallets, shelving and table and chairs back as they were yesterday.

I told them that after they had arranged the things, they should report to us for a meeting that would change your lives forever.
