Chapter 189 - FunPark

Arriving at the amusement park, the siblings left the taxi driver paled and tired. They never cared if somebody overhears them. Their aware that a normal person is passive enough not to step into anyone's business.

Of course, there are hot-blooded, righteous, and confident people out there. However, what they talked about is skeptical and vague, leaving anyone who hears it feel dizzy if they tried to understand. It would make the person think that they have no place to speak in it.

Anyway, Seres didn't answer Teren's question and just scoffed. Teren already felt dispirited with the start.

'Argh, where are my unempathetic side when I need it?'

But that didn't make him hopeless. Once they've arrived, Teren took out the two tickets that Iesa prepared for them. She bought them online after Seres agreed that day. Seamlessly, yet silently, entering the amusement park, Teren calmed himself down.

A cacophony of fun and shouts have long entered their ears. Yet, being inside feels different as they saw all the rides and stands. Teren felt excited for some reason.

"Where?"

Seres asked which surprised Teren a bit.

"Where what?"

"What should we ride first?"

She said with a judging face. It was as if she was forced to ask that.

Seeing that Seres was letting him choose, he wanted something that will break the ice.

Fourth: If communication seemed hard, find something that will set the mood. 

Teren remembered Iesa's last tip as that was all she could think about. But it was actually helpful. She also explained that communication is key, that is obvious, but if they can't get this key then what's the point?

In the taxi, Teren learned that Seres didn't have the intention to talk more than necessary. Therefore, had to set a mood, something that they will talk about...

"... let's try that."

Teren confidently pointed above.

"That?"

Seres looked at the extreme ride. It was a rollercoaster in which people were seated upside down. The coaster would sometimes twist and even vertically go around. With one look, it was terrifying.

"Yeah, come on."

Teren said before leading her there. He didn't think that Seres would be scared of it. After all, she's not normal, not in a bad way. Is there any teenage girl who would shoot his brother's leg and then get struck by a lightning only to escape?

If she can do that, then she could do this.

What Teren didn't expect were the long lines. It irritated him a bit. However, he kept his calm. After an excruciating thirty minutes of silence, they were finally in front of the line.

One of the ride conductors called them out and led them to a couple's seat, believing that they were a couple. If not, then there's still no problem.

Teren felt a little excited. When they were about to sit, Seres just stood there before the seat. It was momentary before she moved, however, Teren stopped her.

"Let me go first."

He said, leaving Seres stupefied. What was he trying to do? It doesn't seem like he's trying to be a man. Rather, he looks like a child whose too excited.

When every seat was filled and the ride was about to move...

"What's the problem?"

One of the conductors asked the one controlling the ride.

"It's... it's not working."

The man behind the controls sweated. He had already keyed the panel and pulled the lever. They could hear the machine working but the ride was not moving at all.

"What's happening, is the vehicle stuck?"

"I-I don't know."

The workers seemed to panic. This was a huge deal!

If an accident were to happen here while they were on shift, all sorts of problems will not only come to the park itself but them, the workers as well. The worst part was that they don't know what the problem was!

"What should we do?!"

"Quickly stop it and get the people off the ride! I'll call the manager!"

"Right!"

The people were silently complaining for a bit, hiding their excitement and nervousness. However, when they noticed that the ride conductors were panicking, they began to feel something wrong. After all, they could hear the engine as if the ride had already started yet it did not.

Soon, the sounds of the engine went silent and an announcement was made.

[Great apologies from the FunPark, this ride has met some difficulties. To avoid accidents, we hope for the riders to get off their seats. We will guide you to exit and you'll be compensated. Thank you.]

The people immediately panicked and wanted to get off that ride as soon as possible. For the rest of the morning, the extreme roller coaster was close.

"Sorry, I didn't expect that. Our time was wasted."

"Not really, the compensation is actually VIP passes. From now on, we'll be able to avoid the long lines and can even enter private lounges for free."

"Well, that's right. So how about we try that instead?"

"That?"

Seres looked at what Teren pointed and it was the bumper car. The only people there were children and families. However, it didn't seem like Seres was against it.

Meanwhile, the manager was called to the extreme roller coaster. It was one of their biggest rides and attraction, if this got an accident, they don't know what will happen to their park.

"I see. Good thing, you didn't force it. For now, we will close the ride and inspect what is wrong. We should fix it as fast as possible and tell the people that it is safe once again."

The repairmen were called and once they looked at the engine and everything, they found nothing was wrong. While they were left confused, one of the repairmen came back and finally found a lead.

"What is it?"

"Umm... I think it's better if you see it, Manager."

The worker led them there and pointed at the place where the ride was stationed before it will be set off. For safety reasons, there were rails near the ride. And one of the thick pole bars, there was a deep handprint as if it was like a marshmallow that was gripped by a person... but it was pure metal.

"C-... c-check the CCTV!"

The manager panicked. Although it was unbelievable, everyone there only have one scenario that popped out of their heads.

"Sorry, Manager, but the CCTV that was pointing in the direction seemed to be broken too."

"What!?"

Meanwhile, Teren didn't know why but Seres didn't have any qualm when he said that they will share one bumper car.. There are those that can fit two people in it.
