Chapter 57 - The Grudge

Rong Zian opened his eyes and found himself in familiar surroundings, it was the goddess Guang's space that he had intruded upon twice already. The recognisable fluffy clouds made him feel relaxed considering what he had been through. "Ah-Zian you are here?" said his mother who currently looked like a thirteen-year-old with cute pigtails in her pink hair. He still couldn't comprehend how a goddess can be this childish but when he remembered that hard slap from the last time, Rong Zian chose silence.

"Mm, I got kidnapped by a psycho who poisoned me and wants to have a baby with me. Story of my life, right?" he complained stewing like dead fish on the fluffy bed. "Do you think I am going to die?" he asked gazing at her with teary eyes.

Guang who was currently looking down at him, smiled as she pats his head, "With mummy dearest over her, how could that happen?"

Staring at the little girl patting his head while calling herself mummy dearest, he couldn't help but think, 'This is too fuckin' weird.'

Rong Zian felt so depressed recalling Wu Yinyou's remark before assaulting him. How the hell did she even find out his identity as Guang's son? Puzzled he turned to his mother for an answer. "How on earth did she even know my identity, I mean yes I am powerful but how did she piece it together," asked Rong Zian with a quizzical expression

The goddess chuckled at his silly question but indulged him, "You seriously think Wu Wúqíng is that stupid? He figured it out the first time you strangled Wu Yinyou. He knows I won't stand by and watch rivers run red in my own territory. If it wasn't because of that stupid book of rules for the gods, I would have killed him already. Everyone who has any form of gift is in some way linked to the Wu Family but you aren't which means you have something to do with me," she explained.

Rong Zian didn't respond so she could only ask, "Feeling any better?"

"No! I have been poisoned and she tossed the antidote in the bottomless pool," he whined rolling over to lie with his back facing her.

"Seriously it can only subdue you not kill you, you just need time to get it out of your system. Nothing a good sleep can't solve, now quit worrying. Besides, I sent someone for help," she said as she sat down at a table and began shuffling a deck of cards, that appeared from nowhere. "Would you like to play?"

Rong Zian had absolutely nothing to do anyway so he got up and sat opposite his mother and watched as she distributed eight cards evenly between them. It seemed like they were going to play crazy eights. Picking up his set of cards, he curiously asked, "Who did you send?"

"I ran out of options and had to ask Wu Fan," she said fervently observing her deck of cards as though doing an important task. Hearing Wu Fan's name, Rong Zian was stupefied wondering how she could have convinced him when the man was obviously terrified of Wu Wúqíng the most.

How on earth did you convince him to do that?" asked Rong Zian as he laid out his first card.

Playing her hand Guang responded with a satisfied smile reminiscing on how she terrified the living soul out of Wu Fan. "I appeared to him like a fuckin' ghost, that's how I did it. You should have seen his face, I am pretty sure he won't be eating soup for the rest of his life," she replied laughing so hard but Rong Zian wasn't amused.

Such words coming from a tiny person didn't seem to settle well with him but he was curious about the soup thing. "What you mean by soup?" he asked while throwing in another card.

"Aish…..you ask too many questions," she complained picking another card from the deck, "Let's do this, whoever wins a round gets to ask a question. If you are going to be this inquisitive at least let's have fun with it."

Guang misjudged her son's card game skills. Coupled with him wanting to ask so many things, he was as cocky as the king of spades winning three games in a row. "Fuck! How are you so good at this," cursed Guang almost flipping the table.

Slack-jawed, Rong Zian reprimanded her, "If you are going to be using that language, at least change into your adult form,"

"You are cheating aren't you?" she said in an accusatory tone, "Fine, you can ask three questions and I will answer," harshly rearranging the deck with a sullen attitude.

Beaming as though he had just won the lotto, he picked his first question. "Wu Fan's power, how does it work exactly? I know it wasn't a dream and I possessed another version of me. Ohh, and if I had not come to this era, would that have been my life?"

"Okay, that's two questions and I will only answer the first one. When I brought you to this era, you swapped with the Rong Zian from this universe. So he continued where you left off in the modern era hence the other alternate universe and when Wu Fan came after you, he took you back to your original world for short time but in that period you suppressed the other soul and took over. Next!"

Rong Zian was trying to follow the flow of information but his engineer brain was so confused. All he knew is that he wasn't dreaming and he did a lot of things that hopefully didn't ruin things for the other.

"If you don't ask in the next two seconds, you officially forfeit your second question," she threatened as they started the next game.

"Okay, okay I will ask. Why did you pick my father of all people? I am sorry but he's kind of a dud," he asked truly curious about it.

"I choose not to answer that question. Now ask the last question?" she said conjuring a mirror behind Rong Zian so she could clearly see his set of cards. It was obvious she was never going to win and at the thought of being interrogated non-stop by this unruly child, she decided to cheat.

"Okay, last one. What did you do to Wu Fan's soup?"

Guang chuckled and gladly answered the question, "I came out of his bowl of soup while he was eating looking like the pale ghost from The Grudge, with my hair covering up my entire face. HAHAHA! You should have seen him running outside midday in his undergarments. Oh, I should show you it was so fuckin' funny HAHAHAHA!" falling off the chair in laughter.

"Tsk, Tsk…..You really should stop watching movies or getting influenced by humans. It's truly not befitting of a god," he replied as he continued with the card game.

"Tsk, Party pooper," replied Guang checking on the mirror behind her son figuring out how to suppress him. She celebrated the impending win with a sly grin, it was like stealing candy from a baby. For sure the goddess won two games in a row but her naïve son didn't suspect her of cheating. "My turn to ask," she said leaning in closer as though asking an embarrassing question. "You and um..... Wu Yange, how did it feel?"

Horrified by his perverse mother he couldn't hold, "Fuck no! Please don't go there-," he paused when he thought of a more petrifying possibility, "Wait did peek on me?"

Seemingly angry, the goddess denied it upfront, "Do I look like a fuckin' pervert? Of course, I didn't peek on you but I know it happened. Fine, fine let me ask another question. Did you at least use protection because that's very important," she replied with a grave expression.

Rong Zian covered his face in embarrassment, suddenly glad she didn't raise him, "Oh my gosh, you just want to embarrass me don't you?"

"It's what parents do, isn't it? I need to teach you sex-education otherwise you will only have your dud of a father to teach you.
