Chapter 109 - 5 - No Pride, just a Fair Battle

"Yeah, they made me a Battle Chief here," Ash responded with embarrassment while scratching his head a bit, "because of my awesome strength."

"What the...the what?" Rico thought in shock.

"I can't believe it," Isaiah thought in despair.

"Well! Shall our morning battles begin?" Ronaldo said immediately positively with a loud clap of his hands. Moments later, some of the students tried to win against Ash with their Pokémon, but the majority of them lost than win. But, Ash encouraged them to be fair and try their best next time, influencing the students with effects.

Then, it was Rico, Isaiah, and Catherine's turn to battle against Ash; their Pokémon are Shinx, Charizard, and Sceptile against Greninja and Pikachu. It might be insane and hard, but they'll do their best. At this point, Ronaldo had gave Ash a weekly schedule of a Battle Chief once a week, allowing him to have more time for his personal tasks.

As the clouds became a bit heavier, the training had began. The atmosphere was getting intense gradually as the headmaster and the students watch them battle against the Battle Chief Ash Ketchum.

"How it takes to battle your brother?" Ash asked his siblings in a bit of a style.

"We'll take you down!" Isaiah retorted back with seriousness as he clench his fist in determination.

"Yeah! We will!" Catherine seriously added as well, fueling the battle with more intensity. But Rico was nervous rather than being excited, chuckling and thinking, "This is gonna be insane..." But Ronaldo quickly exclaimed, "Alright, let the last battles begin!"

"Charizard, use Flamethrower!" Isaiah commanded Charizard seriously. Charizard then used Flamethrower, opening its mouth and scorched an intense blast of fire towards Pikachu. But Pikachu dodged that attack quickly and seriously, and Ash commanded it, "Pikachu, used Thunderbolt!" While in the air, Pikachu used Thunderbolt, loosing a strong electrical blast at Charizard, striking it with power. It then landed back on the ground in action as Charizard was severely weakened.

"What? It's effective?" Isaiah commented in surprise.

"Sceptile, use Leaf Blade!" Catherine commanded Sceptile seriously. Sceptile then jumped high and used Leaf Blade, slashing Pikachu with a sharp leaf, striking it effectively but not too effective. While Pikachu was weakened by it, Sceptile landed on the ground and then got paralyzed by Pikachu's Static, disabling it to move or attack.

"Pikachu! Are you okay?" Ash asked Pikachu in surprise and alert. Pikachu then get up and responded back in feeling better and ready to battle. This stuns the other side and Catherine begged her Pokémon not to give up.

"What? Just a dent of damage?" Rico commented in surprise.

"You didn't even know our strength," Ash retorted back.

"What?!" Isaiah responded back in shock. Then in a determined state, "Oh, yeah, I'll beat you up! Charizard, use Steel Wing!" Managing to get up, Charizard fly high and used Steel Wing, hitting Ash's Pokémon with wings of steel. But Pikachu and Greninja dodged the attack as well and both used Thunderbolt and Water Shuriken, striking Charizard with double the damage. Charizard then fell to the ground and fainted in exhaustion and defeat.

"Charizard is unable to battle," the school referee announced, "Isaiah's out. Only two remained." This shocks Isaiah a lot and then he sighed in defeat, calling his Pokémon without any contempt nor hesitation. He then put the Poké Ball back to his Pokébelt and said to his buddies, "Well, it's up to you two then. I'm out." He then exited the battle field and into the audience seats, leaving Rico, Catherine, and their Pokémon in the battle against Ash. After that, Rico and Catherine turned back to the battle.

"Shinx, use Spark!" Rico commanded Shinx seriously and quickly. Shinx then used Spark, throwing an electrically charged tackle towards Greninja. But Ash quickly commanded Greninja to dodge the attack. Greninja then dodged Shinx's attack with a high jump. This causes Rico to gape his mouth for a few seconds in staring, and Ash again commanded Greninja, "Then use Water Shuriken!" While in the air, Greninja use Water Shuriken, forming a shuriken of water in its hand. It then tosses the shuriken at Shinx, striking it with great power. And when the dust clears, Shinx got fainted in exhaustion and defeat, shocking Rico a lot.

"Shinx is unable to battle," the school referee announced, "Rico's out. Only one remained." Snapping out from being shocked, Rico called Shinx back to its Poké Ball and said to it softly, "It's alright, Shinx, you did your best. Have some rest." He then turned towards Ash and said, "That was a really good battle, Ash, I really acknowledged your strength. Next time, I'll beat you."

"I really liked that attitude," Ash replied back in liking Rico's unselfish attitude. His Pikachu then responded in liking it. Rico then turned towards Catherine and said to her, "It's your turn, Catherine, do your best." Seeing Rico's positive outlook, Catherine nodded in agreement, and Rico exited the battle field and into the audience whilst holding his Poké Ball in one hand.

"This battle's getting longer than we thought," Ronaldo thought in commentary. But, can Catherine win the battle, or not?
