Chapter 201 He Donated His Sperm To His Creation

There were only a small handful of people who had access to the top floor of the Kang Corporation. No normal employee was allowed up there unless they had some sort of special assignment and they would never be allowed to go anywhere near Kang Jun's office.

Approaching the door apprehensively, Mr. Long was a bit afraid of finding out who would be on the other end. If someone important had come to see Kang Jun at this time of day, then it must have not been for a good reason... Mr. Long assumed.

Opening the door, he came face to face with the handsome, smiling face of Kang Mu.

Seeing the man, Kang Jun immediately hid his files containing the information about Chong Wei and then asked,

"How did you get up here?"

Ever since Kang Mu had driven the company to near bankruptcy, the man had been disallowed from entering the Kang Corporation Building. After all the things he had done, Elder Kang, a big part of the Kang family and the grand majority of the major shareholders regarded the man as a kind of curse when it came to the business.

Kang Mu understood this and he didn't take it personally but hearing the annoyance and disappointment in his son's voice, caused Kang Mu's heart to sink.

"The security guard escorted me."

Kang Jun and Mr. Long exchanged looks. Seeing how Kang Jun's aura immediately darkened, Mr. Long felt as if he was going to be in trouble but instead, Kang Jun said,

"Fire the security guard and whoever hired him. And then reeducate every security guard in the building."

Mr. Long bowed and said, "Right away president."

Hearing what his son had just said, Kang Mu's face twisted in complete and utter shock. "No! Why would you do that? The man has a family..."

Not wanting to listen to a word Kang Mu was saying, Kang Jun interrupted him and said, "Everyone has a family. That fact alone is irrelevant to a work environment."

Kang Mu frowned. "Are you really going to fire him because he let me in? I don't see anything wrong with that..."

Kang Jun pressed the space between his eyebrows hard as he glared at his desk. "He allowed you up here. His job was to keep everyone out, especially you. Here at Kang Corporations, there is a zero tolerance policy for stupidity and insubordination."

Kang Mu's whole body felt stiff as Kang Jun spoke to him without emotion. Feeling as if he needed to change his strategy, he approached the man cautiously, like a human trying to prove to a lion that they were no threat, and certainly not food.

Kang Mu didn't speak until he reached Kang Jun's desk. "Jun, you should treat your employees like family. You know; with kindness. He just made one mistake, just forgive him."

Kang Jun looked at his father coldly. 'What do you not understand by the words Zero. Tolerance. Policy?'

Usually, Kang Jun wouldn't bother speaking to Kang Mu. The man, just like Elder Kang in certain situations, was infuriating to talk to. It was like they had a switch in their brains for when they decided to not care about what anyone else was saying but themselves. The only difference was that Elder Kang was an incredibly accomplished man, while Kang Mu was nothing short of a failure.

In his younger days the man had been an incomprehensible fool. He slept around with any beautiful woman he could find and almost brought ruin to the Kang family.

And now in his older days, he found himself being a nuisance to his father and sons.

Kang Mu was nothing but an annoyance. Everyone felt this way. The only person who could deal with him without a semblance of a complaint was Mo Ruyi and everyone was grateful to the woman.

Any other person would have left Kang Mu high and dry but Mo Ruyi stood by him after his multiple affairs.

Why?

No one ever knew.

Looking at the pure belief that Kang Jun would do the 'right thing' that emanated in Kang Mu's eyes, Kang Jun felt himself become extremely annoyed. Thank god for the moment he had spent with Lu AnLing that day or else Kang Jun would have kicked Kang Mu to the curb already.

Sighing, Kang Jun leaned back into his chair and said, "One mistake, is one mistake too many."

After saying this, Kang Jun dismissed Mr. Long. This left only him and Kang Mu in the large quiet room.

The atmosphere was suffocating, but Kang Jun tried to ignore it. He was a busy man, he couldn't just allow Kang Mu to waste his time.

"What have you come here for?" Kang Jun asked coldly as he concentrated on his computer.

Kang Mu: "Can't a father visit his son?"

Hearing such an unbelievable statement, Kang Jun looked up from his screen and said, "No."

Kang Mu shivered.

When it came to Kang Mu, Kang Jun was way colder than he needed to be. It wasn't because he didn't like his father but because the man had no qualities Kang Jun was able to respect. Sure, he donated his sperm to his creation but, other than that, he was nothing to Kang Jun.

Blood was something Elder Kang always boasted about. The old man found it sacred. And as much as Kang Jun tried to understand this, sometimes he felt as if Kang Mu wasn't his father at all.

When he and Kang Zhi were kids, they barely saw Kang Mu. It was always just the two of them and Mo Ruyi, who, despite her coldness would love and dote on the boys in her own way. Despite Kang Zhi not being her son, Mo Ruyi loved him as her own and never showed favoritism between him and Kang Jun.

Kang Mu, on the other hand, was almost completely absent. There were times when Kang Jun even wondered if he had a father but when he was five years old, everything changed. Kang Nianxi was born and Kang Jun began seeing Kang Mu more and more.

If anything this was where the sour relationship between the two was born.

By then, Kang Jun no longer felt any type of longing for or connection with Kang Mu and this continued through his teenage years and adulthood and no matter how much Kang Mu tried to connect, nothing ever got through Kang Jun's ice fortress.

Right now, as he stood in the silence as Kang Jun worked, Kang Mu tried to find a way to speak with his son. The silence killed him, and unlike his wife, he always became impatience and irritable in it.

Kang Mu: "A moment ago I saw Tang Bingyi enter the elevator... are you playing around?"

Hearing this, Kang Jun frowned hard. "If you're going to speak nonsense, get out. I'm working."

Saying what he had said was a bad move on Kang Mu's part but he couldn't help himself.

Seeing he had insulted Kang Jun, Kang Mu held up his hands in innocence. "I just meant that you're about to be married, It's best that you don't waste time with Tang Bingyi or nonentities. Either way, Tang Bingyi already rejected our offer for marriage."

At the word, 'nonentities' Kang Jun had already stopped listening to the man. The only person who could have been with Tang Bingyi was Lu AnLing...

So did Kang Mu just call Lu AnLing, his wife, a nonentity?

Internally, Kang Jun raged.

Kang Jun: "Since When did I accept such a thing?"

Hearing the animosity in his voice, Kang Mu felt as if something was caught in his throat, though he forced himself to speak in a fatherly tone.

"Now Jun, you promised you would get married if you lost your bet with your grandfather. it's been more than three months now and you have no woman in sight. Just accept it. You're getting married." Kang Mu scolded Kang Jun.

Kang Mu always tries his best to be a good father but truth be told he wasn't anything near that.

Looking at the man semi-murderously, Kang Jun took a deep breath.

It took all the self-restraint in the world to stop Kang Jun from admitting he was already married and slapping Kang Mu in the face.

He wanted to crush the man's hopes of choosing a perfect wife for him. But Kang Jun couldn't do it. Lu AnLing had a plan, a damn entertaining one, at that! And Kang Jun wanted to enact it as she wanted.

If it meant holding himself back for now, so be it.
