Chapter 60 - NOT EDITED YET

As if Clyde's voice was the cure for Ryden's madness, the Imperial Prince immediately stops although it was visible to see that he was still in an enrage stage

It's just that, he acts as if he don't dare utter even a single word again in fear that he would make his wife angry

Earlier, Clyde was still sitting in his seat comfortably but after he spoke, he stood up and pats his husband in his back

Ryden immediately turned back and hugs Clyde in the waist while resting his chin into the man's shoulders

His body was still shaking a bit from the anger that he has but he was more calm than he was earlier after having Clyde beside him

Since Ryden already acted like a madman in multiple occasions, getting into character was now very easy for him

Not to mention, his acting also contains some reality in it as Jermaine really angered him

Last night, he and Clyde can still laugh about it sincd it was their first time getting back at the people that they hate

However, since Jermaine still did it again and more blatant than he was before, neither Clyde or Ryden can laugh about it anymore

At the end of the day, although they are not ashamed of their origin or about how they are illegitimate children, they still hated it when people talk as if being illegitimate was their choice

"On behalf of my husband, I apologize 'father'" Clyde said yet he doesn't look apologetic. He showed more of a disappointment rather than a guilty conscience

Even just saying the word 'father' already left a bad taste in his mouth as if saying that word towards the Duke is a disgusting thing to do

The Duke was still in the state of fear as he hasn't completely recovered yet. As such, he was not able to react on Clyde's words immediately 

But if he does, no doubt that he would surely act in a way that would just make Clyde and Ryden displease again

Before the Duke can say any reply, Clyde spoke again

"Father, I don't mind much if my brother were to say hateful words towards me. I am already used to it"

"However, the Prince is now my husband and he is also a child of His Majesty. As a citizen loyal to the Emperor, I cannot tolerate any slander to a member of the Royal Family. Just what would His Majesty say if he were to know about what happened today?" Clyde said with a sigh

He was not acting in the way that the Duke can remember but his words and actions are still not out of line

He didn't show too much intelligence and only showed that he was a loyal citizen to the Emperor to the point that he don't like that his own brother slandered the 6th Prince

That much is at least in line with his original personality and the Duke don't know what to say

He originally wanted to say a lot of things to demand justice and also to get some benefits for what transpired but once again, he was forced to shut up as his child's words were completely correct

Clyde sneakily reminded him that even if he and Ryden don't say anything to the Emperor, the Second Prince is still present and might do it on their behalf

"Father, I won't say anything to the Emperor but I hope my brother won't say such things towards His Highness again" Clyde said causing the Duke to sigh in relief

However, before the Emperor can rejoice, yet another person aside from him speaks 

"Your Grace, I must remind you that the 6th Prince is also my blood related brother and the two of us are even close with each other. Hence, I do not want to hear anyone slandering him. I think it would be better if you discipline the Young Master of your house first before you invite my brother and his wife into your Manor again" Kervy said before the three of them excused themselves, leaving the Duke's estate and returning to Ryden's Manor

Back in the Manor

"How was it? Did you feel my sincerity enough?" Kervy asks to Clyde

Currently, they are in the garden with calming tea in their table

Even through the ride back, Clyde and Ryden's face were still dark from displeasure

Kervy can only try to lighten the mood

"You said that it was just the appetizer. I don't think that would be enough" Clyde said although he thinks that Kervy's performance is already good

After all, Kervy blatantly showed his support to Clyde and Ryden in front of the Duke. He even risk offending and talking harshly to the Duke just to show whose side he is supporting

If Kervy can do that to the Duke then wouldn't he be able to shield Clyde and Ryden to Nobilities at least at the same level of the Duke although the Duke if Rothland is alredy currently the highest Nobility in the Empire?

But since Ryden is also an invaluable person and Clyde wants to receive more benefits, he continued acting that Kervy still has not done enough 

"Sigh… it seems like brother in law has a really high standard" Kervy replied with a sigh before Ryden groaned loudly

"Arrrgghhh!!! I should have also beat the Duke to death but the Duchess just has to come!" Ryden grumbled and Clyde looks at him with furrowed brows

"You could have continued attacking the Duke, why did you even decide to attack the Duchess?" Clyde asks as if those two people are mere strangers for him

Well, he don't consider the Duke as his father anymore. As such, heas treating that person by his title and position in the High Society

"You told me that the Duchess always abused and hurt you before while the Duke just ignores it. Naturally, I hate the Duchess more. Hence, I attacked him" Ryden answered casually as if that was just a normal response

He didn't know that his words brought great warmth into Clyde's heart. Not everyone can be as thoughful at Ryden

Just because Clyde mentioned before that the Duchess gave him an abusive childhood, Ryden decided to beat the Duchess instead of the Duke

He bluntly said that his action back then was for Clyde's sake

As such, Clyde felt a tug in his heart and he can only nod his head as a response though his cheeks turned a bit red. Even the tip of his ears reddened as if he was a shy maiden

Seeing that kind of reaction, Kervy smiled inside him. Who would have expect that these two could be this simple and cure?

Everyone in the Empire knows that Ryden always indulge in carnal desire with Clyde's body

With that kind of reputation, most people would expect that these two cannot act like young people inlove but it turns out that they can!

While Kervy was enjoying the scene in front of him, Ryden's friend that now assumed the role of the butler in the Manor arrives

"Boss! Your Highness!" David loudly greeted. And since Kervy is not unfamiliar with David anymore, he was not surprise that the 'butler' of the Manor is a brute and also speaks loudly

The three of them turned to look at David and they saw him running towards them excitedly

"How many times must I tell you not to shout that loud? Even the peoplr at the other side of the Empire can hear you with how loud you are" Clyde said with a frown

It's like talking to a child. No matter how many times he tell David not to shout, the guy still did it as if he doesn't heard anything

Remembering how much he was always scolded for shouting, David bit his lips and threw an apologetic look to Clyde before lowering his voice

"Boss, Your Highness, a letter arrived. It was from the Count Rosen! Could this be related with the wine business?" David informed them and Clyde's eyes lit up and he immediately took the letter into his habd

He opened the envelope and took the letter inside before readig its content

When Clyde finished reading, his eyes lit up even further and he became really excited

"The Count wants to pre-buy our wine. He even said that he would promote it inot the High Society if he were to approve of his request" Clyde said

As to have a say in the High Society, Clyde intended to have the Nobility his target customer 

But with his and Ryden's birth history, the Nobles might not support them easily. However, if the Count Rosen, the most famous person about wine were to promote Clyde's wine then that would change things

No doubt that Clyde's business would be booming with many Nobles hurrying to buy his wine and show off to the other Nobilities

This is an offer that he cannot reject no matter what!
