Chapter 27 - NOT EDITED YET

Clyde's ears perked up after hearing the director's words. Who would have thought that just as he was about to lead the conversation so that he could hire some of the orphans as maids in the Manor, the director already opened the topic for him

This saves Clyde a lot of trouble and he act really interested

"Maids?" Clyde mumbled and seeing his interest, the director was overjoyed inside him

Although the maid job is looked down upon by the elites, that was not the same for the commoners

Most of them hope that that one day, they would become one of the maids in a Noble Family

Not only were theirs meal provided for them, even their accomodation is well taken care off

Not to mention, although maids have to always lower their heads when in front kf Nobles, in front of fellow commoners on the other hand, they can raise their heads as high as they want to

After all, bullying a maid from a Noble Household was also akin to not giving that said household face

It was fine if a high ranking Noble does that to the lower ranking ones but the same cannot be said if the maid was bullied by commoners

As such, a makd is a coveted job for these poor commoners. Unfortunately, only terribly few orphans would have the luck to become a maid or servant

After all, instead of orphans that might not know anything, why not hire maids from the richer commoner families? Their people might be smarter and more well behaved

Now that Clyde seems to be interested in hiring maids from the orphans, the director became even more enthusiastic than before

"Yes, yes, Your Highness might not know it but commoners always fight to a maid from a Noble Household. If the orphans grew up and was hired as a maid or servant, the other orphans would surely be envious of them! Maids can live a better life than the other commoners!"

Clyde nodded his head at that before looking at the orphans seeminly pitying them in his heart 

"Then… director… if possible, can I hire some of them? I want to help them with the best of my ability" Clyde suggested and his image was no different than a saint in the director's eyes

"Of course! Of course! That would be an honor for any of the orphans to serve Your Highness!" The director hastily replied, seemingly afraid that if he answered even a single second late, Clyde would change his mind

The consort heaved a sigh of relief at that before he suddenly realized something 

"B-but, the Manor is in an urgent need of maids. Is it possible for us to hire them as soon as possible?" Clyde said with an embarassed expression in his face

The director recalled the rumors about the maids that was fired, punished, and even killed

His earlier enthusiasm vanished almost instantly. If the children he watch growing up where to receive the same fate…

However, the director already got carried away and he was also the one that offered. If he retract his offer then wouldn't he offend the Princess?

The director's mind hurriedly tried to think of something as his hesitation showed in his face

However, before he could think of anything, Clyde already spoke again

"I hope we can enter the Manor as soon as possible. I want to help them live a better life"

With that, the director was even more unwilling to say anything and he can only give Clyde an hint of what he wants without offending him

"I-I am sure that Your Highness would be really good with the kids. I am looking forward to seeing them having a brighter future in Your Highness' hands" the director said and Clyde nodded his head

With the matter finally concluded, Clyde had his husband give some excuses so that they could return back to the Manor

Clyde and Ryden visited orphanages for a few days straight, giving out donations here and there 

After all, Clyde is only willing to hire the older orphans and most of the people in the orphanage are too young

The older one before even becoming adult would already find some job to support of them. As such, there are a lot of them who leave the orphanage early in fear that they would miss out on the opportunity 

With the two visiting several orphanages, the matter of the number of the servants in the Manor lacking would soon be resolved 

Most maids would undergo training before they can enter but Clyde didn't do that as he feared that it would give other people the chance to turn those orphans into yet another batch of spies

Clyde directly took the orphans in the manor and he just had a what he think a loyal maid out of the few remaining in the Manor to teach the orphans

Visiting the orphanages took a few days and the training of the orphans took a whole week

Only when the Manor has enough manpower that aren't spies did Clyde have a time for rest

After all, with the excuse of wanting to know the orphans better, Clyde supervises their training

That was to eliminate the chances of them being bought by other people before they can even start their job

Also, although Clyde chose a seemingly loyal maid to teach them, who knows if that maid would actually teach them seriously?

Inside the master's bedroom, Clyde can be seem checking account books while jotting down notes from time to time

"Hey, I know that you have a lot of things to do but do I really need to also stay here and die from boredom?" Ryden complained

While Clyde is busy in the study table, his husband on the other hand was dyingof boredom on their bed

"I'm checking the accounts, don't disturb me! As a Prince, even an illegitimate man, even just for the sake of his face, the Emperor gave you some properties that are earning you a lot of money. However, you are too lazy to check the accounts. Do you know how many irregularities I have already found? Your people are surely embezzling your funds!" Clyde said coldly

All members of the Imperial Family has their own way of generating income. The one that Ryden has actually came from the tax in the Isondale City and the rent of a few properties in there

As a border city, the income from there was naturally not as high as prosperous one as the people are poor and too few merchants traveled in there

However, at the end of the day, it was still an entire city. Ryden can live a lavish life although he was not as rich as legitimate Princes

Unfortunately, Ryden is too stupid and busy to bother check whether his people was scamming him or now

Now that Clyde became his wife, things has to change!

"I said that I am bored not asking you to scold me" Ryden replied with a pout. "Anyway, even if there are bastards like that, don't we still have enough money to live freely? Why bother with it?"

Clyde can feel his nerves trembling from anger again. As such, he can only keep his mouth shut to keep himself from exploding and losing his focus on checking the financial statements of the Prince's Estate

Not receiving even a grunt as a reply, Ryden felt disatisfied as he looks at his wife

With Ryden's vision, even while he was in the bed, he can still see that the kiss marks on Clyde's neck is much paler than before

It wasn't completely gone yet but it also wasn't as noticeable as before

Seeing that, the Prince's eyes lit up and he immediately went out of his bed to stand next to Clyde

"I have to reapply the marks on your neck!" Ryden said, trying to play it cool but he was visibly excited 

Every few days, Ryden has to resuck the skin on Clyde's neck to leave marks in it. At first, he think that Clyde was just a horny man that is trying hard to hide it

As such, Ryden 'unwillingly' leave his marks on the omega's neck

However, after several times doing it, Ryden's attitude changes. From being 'forced', he became really enthusiastic about it

After all, that was the only time when his fierce wife would melt and succumb to him

Not to mention, Clyde's scent was really fragrant and his neck was very pale

No man could resist such a charming neck and Ryden wished that Clyde's marks would vanish every few hours so that he could reapply it more often

As Ryden's mind is simple, he thinks that even if he were to do 'something' with Clyde it is just normal since theybsre husband and wife
