Chapter 25 - NOT EDITED YET

Name:Our Throne Author:KenceRussel
"Yeah, yeah, yeah I hear you" Ryden replied without any hint of enthusiasm. Boredome written allover his face

Receiving such an unwanted response made Clyde displeased and he purse his lips in annoyance

How can Ryden be unenthusiastic when they are now one step closer to having a safer life?

With Ryden apparently losing his mind, the number of people that would try to antagonize them would lower

The smarter enemies that are hard to deal with just like the Empress would think more than twice before trying to attack them

After all, if the madman Ryden received an attack with his current bloodthirsty persona, wouldn't the Empress only have himself to blame when the Prince hurts him?

A war hero that turned insane after battling for the Empire for years although would be feared and talk about by the people but deep inside them, they would feel pity. They would also feel gratitude for Ryden

As such, even if Ryden were to commit crimes, the citizens would also credit it to his apparent madness

That is the Ryden of the present. Someone that the Empress couldn't touch at least directly

The Empress can't purposely make things hard for Ryden and as for trying to assassinate him... who has the courage and the means to succeed?

Also, Clyde becomes the person that can somehow calm the insane beast and he too also become untouchable

If he died or something bad happened to him and his husband flew in rage and attack everyone on sight, the people would surely despise the perpetrator

If Ryden was just a normal illegitimate Prince, no matter how smart Clyde was, it would still be terribly hard for him to plan things that would make them safe for the time being

However, Ryden is not a normal Prince. He almost don't have any political power but in terms of fighting prowess, he was unrivaled in the Empire!

That quality of his made it possible for Clyde to easily put them into safety for the time being

This phase is almost completely done as they only have to wait for the news to continue arriving and after that, they can continue according to Clyde's plans

"Hey, say, until when do we have to stay cope up in our room? I'm so bored! I'm dying of boredom already!" Ryden whined like a kid throwing a tantrum and Clyde can feel his nerves throbbing

"Wait for at least ten more minutes! You just had another episode of attacking anything in your sight! We have to show that I am doing my best to calm you!" Clyde replied

Although Ryden was obedient and just blindlessly act according to his plans, that man is still always full of complaints

It's like there's no day that he would not complain!

"But I'm bored! I'm bored!" Ryden insisted and in anger, Clyde threw the newspaper in his hand to his husband's face

As the two were about to fight again, they suddenly heard knocking sounds on their doors

With Ryden suddenly having an episode and also his way of always punishing the maids from the slightest bit of disturbance, none of the maids would knock on their room without any good reason

Since someone does that, the matter might be urgent. Thus, the two hurriedly tidied themselves or actually they does the opposite thing of that

They made sure that their clothes are wrinkled and their hair are messy

Ryden continued laying in his bed and it was Clyde that went forward to open the door

His face was riddled with fatigued as if calming the beast took out all of his energy

"What is it?" Clyde asked weakly. Clearly, he just want to get over whatever the reason why the maids knock on the door

"Your Highness, a messenger from the Palace has arrived" the maid replied, feeling relieved that it was Clyde that opened the door and not the insane Prince

Clyde the turned to look at the man behind the maid and he nodded his head

"How may I help you?" He asked politely

"His Majesty ordered to give this scroll to the Prince" the messenger replied while showing the scroll in his hand

"His Highness is still sleeping, can I receive it for now and give it to him later?"

When the Emperor ordered to give something to a certain someone, thw said person should be the one to receive it

However, thinking about the rumors that spread these days about the 6th Prince made the messenger take the risk

If he disturbs the Prince's rest, his head might roll out from his neck. Besides, Clyde is the Prince's wife. It shouldn't be that bad to give the scroll to him, right?

With that in mind, the messenger nodded his head as he have the scroll to Clyde

"If that is all, please excuse me" Clyde said before closing the bedroom's door again and he walked towards the bed where Ryden was already waiting for him

"Read the contents for me" Ryden said, too lazy to read it

As Clyde is also curious about the scroll's content, he untied it and read what is written inside

After he was done, Clyde broke into a huge smile

"The Emperor ordered you to rest and recuperate for as long as you need to. He also sent the 1st Prince to the north where you would have been sent this time if not for our manipulations"

Ryden actually doesn't have a fix place. Most of the time, he stayed at Isondale City of the north where monster attacks are rampant

However, the east, south, and west also have their own dangers and problems. When the people stationed at those place cannot take it anymore, the Emperor would then send Ryden to where he was needed

As of right now, the monsters' breeding season is near. As such, the monsters would need more 'energy' and they also becomes more violent

These monsters would continue to harass small villages and the city in the border to eat humans

As such, the Palace has to send people to kill those monsters before they can completely destroy the Empire's borders

In the past, that was Ryden's job but things are different now. The Emperor has sent the 1st Imperial Prince

Out of all the Princes, the first born naturally has the priority of inheriting the Throne

The Emperor wants the 1st Prince to prove himself worthy to be the Crowned Prince and the next Emperor

However, from the information that Clyde gathered in the past weeks, he can't help but sneer

As the first in line for the Throne, naturally, the 1st Prince is born with a golden spoon

The Empress was also very protective of that son of his. After all, if nothing goes wrong, it would be the 1st Prince that would inherit the Throne as he is the firstborn and also the union of the Emperor and th Empress

However, with too much pampering from the Empress, the 1st Prince grew up incompetent

The rumors about him was that he was untalented compared to his other siblings and he always fooled around with omegas as if he was collecting them

Although rumors are not always exactly true, Clyde believe that the rumors about the 1st Prince is true since it wouldn't be surprising if it was true

To send a Prince like that in the borders with monsters are rampant... heh.... Even if the 1st Prince would not die, he still would lose a lot of face

His incompetency would also be seen by the citizens. That would then question his legitimacy for the Throne

Clyde becomes excited just thinking about the possible things that would happen in the future

Being the one in control is really exciting!

"You, you have that weird look on your face again!" Ryden exclaimed after seeing the abnormal expression that Clyde currently has

This was not the first time that he had seen that look from Clyde but Ryden still doesn't know what that meant

Hearing his husband's words, Clyde cough awkwardly, his growing ambition seems to be leaking out from him

"I-it's nothing. A-anyway, tomorrow, we would go to an orphanage" Clyde said to change the topic and Ryden look at him curiously

"What for?"

"With out purge, we almost have no maids in the mansion and we need to replace them. However, we cannot just replace them as there are risks for new spies to infiltrate us. Although it might not sound good, I plan on recruiting the older children in the orphanage. They might have to work this early but with us providing for them, they would at least live with a better condition" Clyde replied

Back on earth, most people would only work when they are at least 18 years of age. In fact, many at that age are still in college and are not working yet

Clyde still has his values from earth but he can only compromise it a bit as he cannot think of another way to gain loyal servants for the Mano
