Chapter 24 - NOT EDITED YET

Name:Our Throne Author:KenceRussel
Although Prince Ryden has the reputation as a bloodthirsty blood of war to the majority of the citizens in the Empire, in the end, as long as he wasn't in the battlefield, Ryden is just like a normal silly and goofy man

None of the servants in this Manor was punished or harmed by him before

If not and Ryden's reputation is really his own personality, how could these lowly maids dare to try to pull on pranks and mock him?

As such, everyone was terribly shocked after seeing Ryden's merciless actions. He just broke the legs of three people using barehanda with ease!

The cracking sounds even entered the maid's ears and also the Princess Consort

As expected of the weak and frail Princess, Clyde's face instantly paled after watching such a scene

It's like every drop of blood in his body turned cold after witnessing a gruesome scene

His face was filled with fright as he trembled

"What are you screaming for?! I only broke your legs for not kneeling when I ordered you to! Why make such a fuss?!" Ryden questioned irritably

It's like the screams of these people was the most irritating sounds he had ever heard

The way he spoke made people heart's turn cold. Did he really just said it's just breaking legs? How can that not be a big deal?

What kind of person wouldn't feel pain and shout after their legs were broken like that?

Is there something wrong in Ryden's head?

Ryden looked at the screaming servants in displeasure before returning his gaze back to his wife

"Eh? Why is your face pale? Did these maid's scream scared you? Tsk, they are really good for nothing. Take them away and deal with them according to the Imperial Laws!"

Hearing that, the maids that were still dying from pain seems to have forgotten the horrible pain that they are experiencing

Deal with them using Imperial Laws? Doesn't that mean that they would be punish with death?

The Royal Family's face and power is absolute. Anyone that held them in contempt would be executed if they wish to

Although these maids are spies from the Empresses and the Queens, would those people help them?

Naturally, the answer is no! They were just pawns that are used to watch over Ryden's movements. They don't have any importance at all

As such, the maids ignore the pain that they are experiencing as they bowed their heads down to plea

"Y-your Highness, please don't!"

"W-we will n-never do i-it again!"

"W-we will serve y-you with u-utmost respect!"

The maids pleaded desperately but their words entered Ryden's right ear and exited to the left one. It's like he didn't actually heard anything

"What are you still doing? Take them away! Hmph, they destroyed the peaceful afternoon I have with my wife. Even their deaths are not enough for their sins" Ryden said haughtily and the other maids in fear that they would be the next to be punished grab the wailing maids to punish them (aka killing them)

"Wife, don't let those maids ruin your mood. I'm sure that the other maids are going to do their work properly this time, right?" Ryden questioned darkly and the poor servants can only nod their heads

As such, Ryden ordered them to prepare deserts and for the mean time, he had them serve the tea

The Prince and his consort sat in their respective seats with the latter seemingly still afraid

Even without Clyde saying anything, the servants can already speculate on their own

For the past week, Ryden has been sweet and caring for him. It's like the Prince is a pure lamb that would do everything to make him happy

However, such a harmless person actually turned this hostile. How can Clyde easily digest this?

The maids serving the tea were clearly trembling from fear. They don't want to suffer the same fate as those three maids has

However, the more they don't want to commit any mistake, the more they would make one

One of the maids spilled a bit of the tea's content. The tea only landed on the small plate below the cup but that angered Ryden again

"Can't you serve tea properly?! How can you let my wife drink spilled tea?! Go give this maid fifty slash in his back! If he become useless after that, send him away!" Ryden ordered, once again frightening the others

This is only the second time that the Prince had someone punish the maids. However, the fear they have made it so that the maids acted as if this sort of thing happened for years already

Without Ryden repeating his words, someone already grab the poor maid to slash him

Fortunately, there are a lot of maids present in the garden (of course with Ryden's order with the excuse of he wants everything to be take care off for his wife) although some are punish and some are use to give out the punishment, there are still a lot of them

This tea session in the afternoon is bound to be a long and unforgettable one for the maids, at least to the ones that would survive

Another servant unwillingly went forward to serve the tea again. Fortunately, this maid didn't spill even a single drop

However, as soon as Ryden tasted the tea he immediately threw the content at the maid's face

The tea wasn't boiling hot but it would still painful once someone threw it at your face

"Y-Your Highness..." the maid called out fearfully

"You dare serve a tea this hot?! Do you want to burn my precious wife's tongue?! Damn it! All of you are useless! None of you can serve my wife properly! All of you are fired! Get out! Get out of the Manor at once!" Ryden suddenly turned hysterical and no one from the servants knew what happened

In the end, they can only hurry out in fear of grave consequences

——-

Starting from that day, rumors spread from the Capital and beyond

It was said that the 6th Imperial Prince due to spending a long time in the battlefield has lost his mind

He would punish and fire his maids from the smallest thing whether that be something as simple as breathing too loudly in his presence and such

His obsession for his wife also became known. The Prince would flew into rage the moment someone tried to bully his wife or at least when he thinks that they are bullying Clyde

His obsession seems to know no bounds to the point that Clyde became a caged bird. They are with each other almost 24/7 a day

It's like amidst the Prince's madness, only his wife can bring him to the light

Those that tried to investigate the situation at the Prince's Manor were shocked by the things that they have found out

There are sections of the walls that have either sword marks or claw marks as if someone lose their senses and started attacking the walls indiscriminately

There are also many furnitures and things inside the Manor that was thrown or crush by the Prince

The number of maids that are either killed or punished heavily seems to be uncountable already

The maids remaining inside the Manor were always tensed as they don't know when their turn would arrive

While these kind of rumors were spread, the people in question was staying inside their bedroom leisurely

Ryden had his whole body spread in the bed while blankly staring at the ceiling. Boredom can be sense and see from him as if he spent years doing nothing

As for Clyde, he can be seen casually sitting in a chair with a newspaper in his hand. He was reading the contents in it and after he was done reading, he happily look at his husband

"Our acting was effective! The newspaper contained the things that we want people to spread!" He said excitedly

Although their reputation seems to have taken a great hit, it was still beneficial for them

A powerful Prince that is a fool is someone that people would easily scheme against

However, a Prince that turned mad after years of fighting for the sake of the Empire is different

Ryden is the type of person that cannot be easily killed publicly. He might have a bloodthirsty reputation but he still served the Empire for years

His achievements were something that the citizens are clear about. Hence the reason whu in the past, the Empress used Clyde's death to kill Ryden

After all, Ryden is a powerful individual. Without mobilizing the armies with many elite members, no one could kill him on their own

It was only because Ryden was plotted to be commiting treason did he got executed

But with his madman reputation now, wouldn't the people that try to provoke him and got killed as a result can only blame themselves?

He was apparently a madman that would attack almost everything. Why continue make trouble for him?
