Chapter 3 - Scheme

The Duchess was as pretty as people would expect him to be thanks to his title

But what if it was an illegitimate child? It was just convenient that the Rothland family also has an illegitimate child

That illegitimate child was sold off to be the 6th Prince's spouse while their legitimate child would marry another Prince that has a high chance to ascend the throne

The marriage is Clyde's only weapon. The Prince might have a low status but so what? He is still a Prince!

At least on the outside, the Nobles must still act nicely in front of the Prince and His Majesty

If the Emperor were to learn of the fact that the Duchess hurt the bride, it would surely make him furious

He would think that the Duchess was trying to go against the Imperial Family which was an unforgivable crime

Being married to a Prince is still better than giving the Duchess the power to do whatever he wants to do to him

Clyde can only hope that his husband this time is a decent one but for now, dealing with the current situation is the most important

Instead of answering that clear insult, Clyde did something that Casey didn't expect him to do again

The sound of a face being slapped again resounded. This time though, it wasn't the Duchess that was slapped

Clyde slapped himself! It left a clear red mark on his face but he wasn't even satisfied with one slap

The second, third, fourth, and so on slap occurred. It comes to the point that Clyde's face was already swollen and some blood came out from the wound

"You really have gone mad!" The Duchess said in shock but Clyde just smirks at him

Seems like his nickname 'Mary Sue' would help him today to escape death

"Help! Help me, please! The Duchess is trying to kill me!" Clyde shouted loudly while desperately running away

The Duchess felt like Clyde gave him a lifetime's worth of shock in just a single day. What is happening with this guy that was originally extremely meek at him?

Where did that person go?

"Crazy bastard! What do you think you are doing?" Casey raged before he looked at his stupefied personal maid

"What are you still standing foolishly there? Go and get him!" Casey ignored his bloody maid's condition and ordered him mercilessly

As a mere maid, Dante cannot do anything else but obey. He rained curses towards Clyde inside his head for the things he was going through today

He was still bleeding yet he already need to catch the bastard of the family. Today is his unlucky day!

Dante as the Duchess' personal maid, has some power in him. The only reason why Clyde managed to injure him was thanks to the element of surprise

If not for that, he wouldn't be injured at all

In Dante's hands, thin but slightly long needles can be seen. He ran towards Clyde before throwing the needles from his hand

Fortunately, the two were still looking down on Clyde and that gave him the time to save himself

This large tree has always been in this area and Clyde uses it to prevent severe injuries while still sustaining some

"Anyone please help me! The Duchess wants to kill me!" Clyde continued his 'little show' as he accused Casey of wanting to kill him

Well, in fact, it wasn't entirely a lie. The Duchess really wants to kill him and he did so in the past
