Chapter 2 - Returning

Even if Ryder was not necessarily kind, he can make the mood light

"If you don't want to say something then don't"

"No way! I feel like it would be my life's biggest regret not to say it to you while you are still alive... well, barely"

"Yes, barely. I clearly know that, you don't need to remind me Mr. This Hospital would lose so much without me" Clyde said with sarcasm that Ryder sensed causing the man to look at him

"I am sensing that sarcasm and no matter what you think, I am a great asset of this Hospital. You know my personality, do you really think I wouldn't get fired?"

With that, Clyde needs to agree. This guy has a horrible personality. Just look at how lightly he was treating Clyde's death. Such a self-centered bastard

"If you were so great why were you not able to cure me?"

"Okay, first, don't judge me, I am good at my job. And second, I am a doctor, not a God that can perform miracles, alright?"

Clyde chuckled lightly at that. This man really has no fear. "Are you not afraid that God would hear you and send you to hell? But I guess, with how black your heart is, you really are going to end up in there"

"Oh please, I saved so many lives. Can't he just let go of my sometimes inappropriate use of sarcasm? I bet God isn't that petty. He is loving, kind, and you already know the drill"

Only with this guy that Clyde can laugh even a bit. He wishes he could have been friends with Ryden even when he wish to kill him sometimes

"Yeah, yeah, good luck with that. Let's wish that God really isn't petty"

"Of course he's not! Alright, all done! You are clean now and you can throw up blood again"

"Why is it even you that was doing that? Aren't there many nurses here?"

"There are but I don't want any life regrets. I have to say 'I told you so' to you even at least once in my life!"

What an asshole. Clyde really has an urge to smash this guy's head

"Well, don't worry. Perhaps, tomorrow, you won't need to do that anymore"

"Don't say that, you are making me feel bad"

"Really, after all the things you have said to me earlier?"

"Those are different stories, alright?"

Ryden helped Clyde lay in his bed and the latter asked him a question

"Would you miss me when I am gone?"

Although Clyde always wants to hit Ryden until he bleeds, this guy is the only one that treated him sincerely

There is 0% ulterior motives from his actions. It was kind of refreshing

"Woah, way to catch me off guard"

"Just answer my damn question you freaking bastard"

"Feisty, aren't we? Well, I suppose I will. I spend years of my life waiting for you to come to your senses and say the phrase you already know namely 'I told you so'. And now that it happens, your life would end soon. Isn't this scenario lacking a bit in flavor?"

Really, this guy never change

"I'll take that as a yes. Although you are annoying, you are not pretentious nor do you look down on people and view them as tools. I hope in our next lives, I would be able to meet you again"

"Please don't say something like that, I don't want to die yet. Do you know how hard it was to be a doctor? I sweated blood just to get where I am now where I have more than enough money for my needs. I don't want my hard work to go to waste "

"Who was the one that was judging me again for working too hard?"

"It's different!"

Although Clyde wants the conversation to continue, his weak body was not giving him the time and he soon died in the hospital bed with the person he deemed annoying

'I guess that was it. My second life is gone just like that'

'Or actually not' Clyde continued his thoughts

He loses consciousness earlier but after he regained it, he was welcomed by a familiar and also unfamiliar room

It was a small dusty room where people wouldn't be surprised if they saw rats and cockroaches

The scent was very pungent and enough to make people nauseous

Clyde has never been inside this room for a very long time

The man still haven't had the time to organize his thoughts when his room was rudely opened by someone

"Young Master, it's already time for the wedding! Why are you still not up yet? Look at how lazy you are! The Duke and Duchess would be disappointed at you"

A voice filled with berating entered Clyde's ears. His dark room finally had some light after the door was opened

When Clyde looks at the voice's source, he saw someone that is familiar and unfamiliar at the same time

Dante, a maid that is directly working under the Duchess. A maid that has the Duchess's backing and always bullied him whenever he had the chance

'Dante? What is he doing here? Aren't I on earth? If I am seeing Dante then this world... '

This world... this world is a world far different from earth

If Clyde was not mistaken, he was back on where he lived his first life - The Carstensen Empire!

It is in a completely different world from earth

In Clyde's past life, there is the existence of a woman. In this world, however, there are only men and they are categorized into two which are the Alphas and Omegas!

That was the reason why Clyde was gay back on earth and he suffered a lot because of that

In his first world, there are only men and absolutely no women. He grew up having attraction towards men and he wasn't able to change that back on earth

Clyde thought that he would die but he actually didn't and he returned to his first life

For who knows why, Clyde can remember his life here even after he was born again on earth

Just like what he experienced in his second life, his first life was also an extreme hell full of abuse

Clyde's mind still isn't working perfectly but there is one thing he would not let happen again

Clyde wouldn't be a pushover again! How dare a mere maid dared to act like this at him?

He is already fed up with people saying that he should be kind at all times. Two lifetimes' worth of kindness is already enough. There would be no third time!

Clyde's demeanor instantly changes as he stared at Dante like a viper intimidating its prey

The man instantly felt like there is something wrong with the Young Master today but he throws his gut feelings away

After all, the Young Master has always been meek. He let others treat him however they want without the slightest bit of retaliation

Who would believe that someone like Clyde could become angry? No one!

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Dante asked rudely while raising his chin. He was in a lower position than Clyde but he was completely acting as if he was the one in charge

"Dante, may I know who I am?" Clyde asked coldly and the maid became confused

"Did you lose your mind or something after receiving your punishment? You are Avery Clyde Rothland. The bastard of the Rothland Dukedom"

A bastard... precisely. That is precisely what Clyde is

He is not born from the union of the Duke and Duchess. He was the son of the Duke from a maid that soon died thanks to the Duchess' scheme that sounds really cliche

Just like in this second life, people always think that Clyde is lucky. He is an illegitimate child yet he was 'treated' good

On the outside, to raise the family reputation, the Duke and Duchess always showed that they don't discriminate against Clyde for being an illegitimate child

This made the Family's image to be Saint-like in the eyes of the commoners. Nobles have despised the commoners but there are times when their support is still needed

If there were too many commoners protesting on something, even the Royal Family have to address that issue

The Duke knows how to play his cards well. Even after having an affair, he still managed to use his child to benefit him

The Rothland Family was kind to Clyde on the outside but that is far from being the reality

Clyde has always been abused and his so-called family forced him to always be kind

It was to the point that they gave him the nickname 'Mary Sue'

A person that has it all. Kindness, good family, talent, beauty, and so on

Despite being an illegitimate child, Clyde still has quite the presence in high society

After all, the Duchess always made sure that no one aside from the trusted people can see him abusing Clyde

He certainly can't do it publicly in fear that he would incur the Duke's wrath

Whether it be the second or first life, there is not that much difference and Clyde is so sick of it already. Things need to be changed!

No maid should have the capability to bully him anymore

"Precisely. I am Avery Clyde Rothland. I may be a bastard in this family but I am still a child of the Duke. How can a mere maid treat me this way?"

All his life, Clyde has always been told to be kind. But what if he became kind just because that is what the people around told him?

What if Clyde is far from being kind? That thought entered his mind as soon as he decided not to be kind anymore, Clyde had the urge to beat this maid until he was drenched in blood

In anger, Clyde waved his hand, and the power that made him no doubt have the blood of a Rothland was used by him

Thorny vines with pink flowers in them appeared and they wrapped themselves on Dante's body

"How dare you! What do you think you are doing? The Duchess wouldn't let you off if he knows what you were doing!" Dante raged as never once he was treated like this

He was the Duchess' maid! Hurting him is also the same as slapping the Duchess's face! When did he endure such humiliation before?

Since Dante still hasn't learned his lesson, Clyde clawed his hand and the vines wrapped on the man constricted

"I am a Young Master of this House. As the Duchess is the Mistress of the Household, I don't think he would be happy that a maid that doesn't know his lesson is acting rudely. I was just helping the Duchess teach a servant with no manners!" Clyde said with venom in his voice

The vines tightly wrapped around Dante and the thorns in them made tears in his body

"Help! Help! The Young Master has gone crazy!" Dante cried for help but sadly, no one would hear him

This place is off-limits to normal people. After all, whenever Clyde did a 'mistake' he would be sent into that disgusting room that even a lot of commoners would not use

If he was seen staying the night in such a room, it would cause a lot of problems

No matter how Dante cried for help, there were only a few people that can enter this area

But it seems like Dante's luck still hasn't run out as it didn't take that long before Clyde heard another familiar and unfamiliar tone

"What do you think you are doing right now?"

Clyde turned to look at the voice's source and just as he expected, it was the Duchess

The Duchess is an Omega. A man that can give births to children. Just like what most omegas looks like, despite being a man, he looks really pretty

He lived a sheltered life due to his status and it enabled him to take care of his body really well
