29 Playing With Fire

Currently, Haeun was sitting in her seat as she chucks down a glass of watermelon juice. Apparently, under some mysterious circumstances, there was a pepper chili in her garden salad.

She didn't know how it got there but it somehow did and now her cousin was making a scene inside the restaurant because of it.

"How can you guys be so careless?! Didn't I told you to be extra careful with this order?! My cousin here doesn't handle the spices well and you guys just have to accidentally put a pepper chili in her salad?! I'm not happy with you guys! I'm gonna lodge a complain! Where's your manager?!"

Haeun looks at the waiter's pale face as Haeji shouted at her. What luck does this lady have to be shouted at for something that she was ordered to do?

She honestly felt bad for her since the waiter most probably didn't know that she would get shouted at that badly. But thankfully, it was only the three of them in the restaurant.

Haeun had guessed that Haeji would definitely reserve out the whole restaurant. Because how else would she execute this perfect acting scene of hers.

"Haeji.. You don't have to do that. I'm fine. Really. It was just one pepper chili anyways. I can handle it. So, can you please come down? I don't really like making a big scene out of it."

Though she says that, the hotness of the chili is still burning in her tongue, making it hard for her to speak.

She can't deny, Haeji had really outdone herself and thought up a really good plan.

Who would have expected that just one simple chili could easily make your enemy chuck down an entire glass of poison. It was definitely clever of her to think of that.

"Oh my dear cousin, you're just too nice for your own good. You shouldn't be that way. People could easily bite you in the back someday. You need to remember, you're not some country bumpkin but the next successor of the Lee family! You can easily make them a beggar for the rest of their life if you wanted to. So you need to take control and show them who's in charge."

Haeun snorted a little as she heard what Haeji had said. Too nice? Oh, she just doesn't know what sort of things she's capable of doing.

She was sure Haeji would have choke herself to death if she knew what a terrifying person she is. If she thinks this was going her way, she had made a huge mistake.

Haeji thought she's playing with fire but in actuality, she playing with a deadly explosive that is slowly ticking away, just waiting for the perfect moment to explode.

Haeun didn't come here to play. She was here for revenge, for all the things that Haeji and her family had done. And she has no plan on backing out, not until each one of them is suffering miserably.

"I understand, but I need time to get used to all of this. I still can't wrap around this whole thing of me being a part of the Lee family. So I hope you would be kind enough and be patient with me."

She managed to make a pitiful smile as she took one of Haeji's hand and held it gently.

From the looks of it, Haeun knew how much Haeji wanted to slap away her hands. But because she's currently the 'nice' cousin, she couldn't and was forced to fake a smile.

While all this was going on, Minseok was quietly watching the skit from the sideline. He honestly felt the need to applaud the two for the fantastic acting they displayed.

It seems that acting does indeed runs in their blood. Maybe they would be better suited to become actresses than the next heir of a fashion company.

But after watching all that happen, Minseok realizes just how big of a mistake he would have made if he had decided to continue helping Haeji instead of Haeun.

Though a big part of it was because he can't deny his guilt towards her, the decision he made to help Haeun was all based on his own personal calculations of which side would he gain more from.

Knowing that Haeun was meant to be the next successor, he knew that was already the biggest advantage that she had over Haeji.

Also adding the fact that Haeun almost got all her memories back and could now see past all of Haeji's scheme, it was already an obvious answer on who's going to win this game.

And to think that Haeun has yet to put out her big cards. Haeji was obviously to done for. There was no way she could escape from losing big time against Haeun.

"Oh yeah, honey. Did I mention to you that your Cousin here will be bringing you to meet your real parents and grandparents? I felt like I forget to mention it to you earlier.."

Minseok was quick to cut in as he sensed the awkward atmosphere starting to build up.

"By the way, I'm really sorry about earlier. Really didn't mean to ruin your dress. Just tell me how much is the cost for the dry cleaning and I'll pay you back."

The look on Haeji's face was obviously one that was beyond her control. Honestly, she has been trying hard to forget about the incident earlier but Minseok just had to bring it back up.

The dress was actually one of her favorite among all the others that she owns. It's not because it's expensive or it comes from a very popular brand. But it's because it is from Minjoon.

It was a gift that she truly treasured since Minjoon had made it from scratch, just for her. So the dress was one of a kind and couldn't be found elsewhere, something that basically money can't buy.

So when Minseok had accidentally spilled his watermelon juice all over her dress, she was bursting in anger. But obviously, she didn't actually burst in front of them.

She just kept it inside as her patience level slowly rises up, leaving about one percent before she really exploded at them.

"Oh, you do have to worry about that. That dress wasn't expensive or anything. I could just buy a new one if I wanted to. Anyways, I realize that you didn't bring your baby with you. Why is that so?"

The question had actually got Haeun off guard since she didn't expect Haeji to be quite sharp. But she didn't come unprepared.

She had already planned everything before coming to meet Haeji and nothing was going to stop her.

"Oh.. Actually, the baby didn't make it. I wasn't strong enough and fainted halfway, resulting in the baby to die. It was unfortunate, really. I was looking forward to seeing her in my arms but I guess, I have to wait longer.."

Haeun started crying in the middle of her sentence as tears fell from her eyes. Minseok had quickly gone to her side and comforted her when he realizes what was happening.

Though it should be a sad and touching scene, Haeji felt like vomiting. It's too cheesy for her to handle and the thought of Haeun's baby dying was something they should be happy about.

No burden to be taken care off, lots of money being saved and most importantly, no one to disturb their sleep in the middle of the night.

She was also actually happy that Haeun faced such misery, losing her baby after carrying her for nine months. Haeji feels like she deserves it since Haeun had made her life miserable.

"Omg. Is that true? How sad. It must have been hard on you. It's okay, you can always try again next time. Be strong, okay?"

Haeji forced herself to gently pat Haeun's shoulder in comfort as she gave her a reassuring smile. Obviously, she didn't mean it but for the sake of acting, she had to look like she was.

She then took a tissue and wipe off the tears that were on Haeun's face before linking her arms with hers.

"So, shall we go? I'm sure the whole family is excited to meet you."

As Haeji slowly pull Haeun along with her, she had no idea that what she was about to do was going to make her dig her own grave.

Haeun didn't look like it but inside, she was actually laughing at how stupid Haeji was. She belittles her, thinking that she was like a lost lamb.

But little did she knew that the lost lamb was her, being all clueless to what about to happen. Since she bought this upon herself, Haeun has no reason to feel sorry for her.

She made her suffer once but she's going to pay them back tenfold. With everything all in place, Haeun can't wait to see the exciting show that she has carefully planned out.
