Chapter 164: Hope

The beast let out an inhuman roar as it charged towards leaped towards Lucien only to be assaulted by countless bolts of lighting with unlimited thunderbolts raining down on it like a thunderstorm!

Lucien had expected a tough battle but to his greatest surprise, the magic beast was knocked back ruthlessly! Not daring to give the beast time to recover, Lucien's body turned into steel as he rammed into the magic beast smashing it into the rocky walls of the grand canyon and dragging it up.

Rumble!

Rumble!

"Aaaaaaahhhhhhhh!" Lucien growled ruthlessly as he shot into the air once again, flying to the top of the grand canyon and diving down, smashing crushing the skull of the beast into the ground.

Puff!

To Lucien's greatest surprise the beast gave out a painful cry as it transformed into black smoke but when it was about to escape, a powerful suction force pulled it into Lucien's body! At this moment, Lucien felt a familiar feeling of power surging through his body as a beast tattoo appeared at the center of his chest!

Does the beast assimilation still work?

Doesn't that mean I can get stronger here? Once I get strong enough I can force my way out!

Many thoughts ran through Lucien's mind but all that was cut short the moment he realized he wasn't alone! Looking ahead Lucien saw an army of beasts similar to the one he just killed now. He felt his hair stand as a cold shiver ran down his spine. His eyes dilated as he swallowed a mouthful of saliva but even then he took a step forward and his aura exploded

"Martial technique: Body and soul Harmony! With this power, with their strength, I cannot lose! I cannot run! I AM LUCIEN RAKUZEN! I WILL NOT BE DEFEATED SO EASILY!" Lucien screamed in an attempt to hype himself up.

ROAR!!!

The endless army of demonic beasts charged towards him fearlessly, causing the ground to rumble violently! This should be enough to make any normal man shiver in fear but Lucien showed no fear.

"I WILL SHOW YOU THE POWER THAT WILL SURPASS THAT OF THE GODS!" Lucian growled viciously as the image of a massive his tattoos began vanishing as the magic beasts took from behind him!

Lucien released all his assimilated beasts except the Raizen God beast and the demonic beast he had just killed earlier. As much as he felt using the Raizen God beast will increase his chances of survival since his link with the Raizen God beast is already high he dared not summon it recklessly! He was already dealing with the powers of the underworld and he knew he must have drawn the attention of the God of death, getting another god involved would be bad news for him!

"CAWWWWWWWWWW!" Argo screamed as it released countless powerful hurricanes surging around Lucien and even beyond while the Lanka utilized its domain skill, creating a purple mist around them! With two domain spells, Lucien felt much safer and he quickly summoned the faceless spirit beast, forcing the silver shapeless orb to appear above his head.

"Rakuzen!" Lucien roared as his eyes let out blue lights as illusionary blue dragon scales appeared all over his body and an azure blue dragon spear appeared in his hands as he charged forward first with his magic beasts chasing after him closely!

"Break!" Lucien growled as he struck forward releasing a whirlpool of blue flames, bulldozing through the enemy lines!

He was extremely shocked by how weak the enemy forces are, they can be considered soldier-level magic beasts in the world of the living! The only difference is the large number on their side!

"Kill!" Lucien roared viciously as he launched the spear forward, decimating the enemy forces who dared to block his path, and even without fighting, his beast assimilation revivals were wreaking havoc, tearing through the enemies like they were helpless kids against a pack of vicious hungry wolves!

In just a few minutes, Lucien and his former had killed hundreds of the enemy forces, bearing a thousand! Numerous black gas kept shooting into Lucien's body from all sides of the battlefield and at first, it was energizing but soon it became painful! Lucien soon fell to the ground, holding his head in pain as he struggled to clear his head. Visions of all the unfortunate events that have occurred in his life kept reoccurring, leaving him with blood-red eyes and blood flowing down his eyes.

"What the hell!" Lucien growled as more demonic beast tattoos kept surging into his body until he could barely stand.

He began remembering his final moments of living as he felt his soul threatening to explode but even then Lucien didn't withdraw his forces. They were already in too deep inside the enemy forces, if he dares withdraw his forces now his second death is assured. While they fought a cold breeze blew across the battlefield and a figure appeared in front of Lucien.

It was a youthful man with pitch-black hair tied into a ponytail and a green undercut at the sides. He wrote a black long-sleeved mage robe with what seemed like bone armor around the shoulder area. His eyes seemed cold and his black lips gave him a certain charm and the most amazing thing about the man was that Lucien couldn't feel any form of power from him but upon seeing this he unconsciously admitted defeat.

"I come here in search of the powerful being, wreaking havoc in my domain and what I see is a kid… Disappointing but interesting" The man said calmly with an ethereal voice that made Lucien feel relaxed around the man.

"Hehehehe! I can keep going you know that right?" Lucien laughed bitterly as he gazed at the man in the eyes. Since he is already dead, the rule of none may look at the face of God did not apply anymore.

Seeing the amused look on the face of the youth the god of death was slightly taken aback. He has come across many people, special, powerful, influential during their lives but none have dared look him in the face with a smile on their face. First of all, he couldn't understand why this kid can retain his senses in the underworld. Only spirit realm masters and above who have attained spirit sense can do this, but none of them have ever retained their abilities when they got here. The underworld is a land that severs the link the dead has with the living, that way they end up losing all their abilities but here this kid is the first he has ever seen retain his abilities! This is something that can only be done by the gods.

"You are really interesting, what is your name child?" The man said as he calm down and gazed at Lucien's body.

He saw the tattoos of magic beasts on Lucien's body and he couldn't help but frown. The old man barely managed to subdue his raging aura that is about to explode as he asked the question with a straight face.

"Lucien Rakuzen…" Lucien said with an astonished look on his face.

He couldn't explain why but even though he didn't want to talk, the words left his mouth even without giving him a chance to resist. He didn't know if this is one of the abilities of a god but what Lucien knew was that if he should survive this encounter in some way, he will consider himself as one of the luckiest men in this world. He was practically staring death in the face and even though he wasn't scared he couldn't help but feel anxious.

"Rakuzen!" The man hissed with knitted eyebrows as he glanced around a bit.

He saw that magic beasts fighting for Lucien and what was even more bothering were the black smokes surging into his body endlessly. With each enemy murdered, he could feel Lucien's power rise. His army should be invincible, drawing the power of the underworld to reform upon death but this little kid was actually whittling down their number because of the beast assimilation.

The man couldn't help but wonder about the connection between this kid and the god of gods, Rakuzen. His facial expression turned grave as violent thoughts ran through his head.

"As a follower of Rakuzen, I will show you some respect and give you a befitting death!" The man said as he raised his hand and a massive flaming purple skull appeared above like a mighty comet.

"Don't worry when hit by this, not even your soul will remain" The man said with a soothing voice.

ROAR!

He was about to pull his hand down but then a loud cry which sounded like a thousand beasts crying out at once left everyone stunned, including Lucien.

Looking up they saw a massive Chinese blue serpent dragon shoot out of the dark clouds, shooting towards Lucien at a terrifying speed. Its eyes were the same as what one Lucien saw each time he entered the dark room!

Rakuzen has come to save his successor!
