Chapter 116: The Messiah

The class was bolstering with students even on the first day, even instructor Emma was stunned. She didn't expect to see so many people today! It showed they were dedicated to their cultivation goals and it made her happy. Amongst the old students were the new shining stars of their generation. Every one of them coming from ancient families or the Fotia empire and surprisingly all of them were 'Mere Humans'

The boost in these people's talents caught the empire by surprise and they performed amazing feats effortlessly, making Lucien looking average! Many called them the late bloomers, the others say they were hiding their true talent. Something everyone couldn't deny was that the future of the human faction of the empire is brighter than ever now!

Soon the other Instructors appeared alongside a familiar figure which they have been seeing more often since Lucien's departure.

It was Dean Xio!

The man wore a blood red oversized mage attire making him look kinda silly but no one dared trash about him, neither did they look down on him. As the Emperor's direct descendant, he is said to be the strongest spirit realm master in the entire empire. With each step he took, his aura grow, rising to the point that the entire hall began trembling. His eyes were like a pair of scorching suns descending on everyone who dared to look at it! The pressure he put on these students was so great many felt difficult and ended up sweating profusely.

Bam!

The moment he stepped foot on the podium, his oppressive aura vanished, leaving behind a calm elderly man who looked weird in his baggy attire. He silently glanced through the entire hall, gazing at the students and their conditions. Amongst them he could see a select few human students who were stood unfazed by his oppressive aura, this made him give them a slight nod as a sign of recognition. He leaned forward and was about to speak but then the doors of the mighty hall were slowly yanked open and the creaking sound caught the attention of everyone.

Everyone watched as the mighty doors were fully open and they couldn't help but wonder, who is the person who dared to arrive late when they all knew the dean would be addressing them today. They also found it hard to understand why the person chose to come on foot and not through the teleportation platform!

Seeing the familiar face walk in calmly everyone's heart skipped a bit especially that of instructor Emma and many other instructors! No one expected Lucien would return to the academy after everything that happened. He was like a legend and the rumors of his return that has been spreading since a year ago had finally been confirmed causing the blood of all beast-men present to boil!

Ever since Lucien's departure, highly talented humans kept appearing and because of that, the beast-men were looked down on badly. As people who were used to looking down on others, it was embarrassing. They were also lacking in numbers and because of that the few moments a fight has broken out between the humans and the beast-men always ended in a defeat since they are outnumbered. Seeing Lucien walk calmly was like the return of the Messiah in their hearts! If he can just demonstrate his monstrous strength and talent once again, their race can regain some face in the academy.

"You are late" Dean Xio said those three words coldly as his eyes let out a bright yellow light and his oppressive aura resurfaced again but this time it was aimed at Lucien!

"Interesting!" Lucien replied coldly as his silver aura exploded revealing the faint image of a shapeless silver figure.

He was making use of his spirit cultivation base to face the enemy!

"Break!" Lucien growled as he punched out, releasing a wave of his spirit energy surging towards the man.

Pa!

At that moment, Lucien shot off the ground, shooting towards the Dean viciously! He took light steps as he ran on the empty air above the students leaving everyone shocked and the beast-men excited!

Bam!

The dean had no intention of dodging the spirit aura of a junior! Engulfing his fit with red hot mana he punched forward, meeting the attack head-on! The collision between the two attacks created a loud sound that left many people shocked but there was no time to comment as Lucien was already standing on the podium!

"Habakiri!" He growled as the magic weapon appeared in his hands releasing a flaming whip.

His eyes let out an orange light as he swung it at the dean ruthlessly causing many to gasp in shock! This kid dared to attack the dean! The head of the academy and the son of the emperor!

Bang!

The dean refused to retreat once again and threw his hand towards the attack, catching the whip with his bare hands!

Boom!

The shockwave released by the collision made the attires of both combatants flutter wildly, revealing the cool side of the two.

"Sorry I am late… I was feeling a bit lazy this morning" Lucien said while taking heavy breathes while the Dean looked completely fine.

A rare smile appeared on his face after Lucien spoke. It seemed like he was pleased with Lucien's performance.

"You have kept yourself sharp all this time! Good! Really good!" Dean Xio laughed.

While he may not say it out. He too felt a bit anxious about the difference in the talent between the humans and beast-men of that generation! While it is his duty to remain impartial and groom both races, he couldn't help but worry about the future of the beast-men in the empire! Lucien's return and outstanding performance gave him a lot of hope. Even if it's one noble beast-man family is standing, there is no way the beast-man race in the empire would fall.

"Don't tell me you were expecting to see a fat and worthless version of me… I have only been a noble for two months… give me a year and you may see it" Lucien said calmly. He had a good impression of the dean so he had no reasons to act too cold around him.
