Chapter 70: Two requests

The next morning Lucien set out for Instructor Han's office. Upon arrival, they were both transported to the capital where they moved straight to the royal palace all in the space of a few seconds.

"Spatial magic is so convenient" Lucien lampooned.

"Spatial magic in a time like this where anti-spatial zones are placed almost everywhere, limiting us to a small space… I am the only spatial mage in the empire with uninterrupted access to any part of the empire… This is only possible due to my special relationship with the emperor" Instructor Han said proudly as he showed Lucien a silver wrist band with the royal seal on it.

"I see… I hope I get mine soon" Lucien muttered absent-mindedly as he and Instructor Han entered the final teleportation platform which took them directly to the throne room of the emperor.

Appearing there, Lucien once again was blessed to be in the mighty palace filled with golden statues representing the four major god-beast clans in the empire. The throne room was empty with only Emperor Fei sitting on the throne while gazing down at them with a thoughtful expression on his face. His blazing red eyes were pinned on Lucien making Lucien feel a bit uncomfortable.

"Speak freely" Emperor Fei said casually while tapping the armrest of his throne.

"Eeermmm… I can understand granting someone unlimited access to any part of the empire… but isn't it dangerous to have a teleportation platform that leads directly to the throne room? I sincerely think it's a bit too risky" Lucien said thoughtfully, causing a smile to bloom on the emperor's face and that of Instructor Han.

While it may look like he's stating that Instructor Han may lead a rebellion against the emperor and send them directly to the throne room but in reality, all he was doing was pointing out a loophole in their system and possible dangers. This alone proved his loyalty to the empire and the emperor!

"This kid…" Instructor Han smacked his face lightly with his palm as he spoke.

"Hahaha…. You don't have to worry, I am strong" Emperor Fei replied with a wink, leaving Lucien dumbfounded.

He wasn't worried about his safety because he is strong? Does he really have that much confidence in himself?

Lucien couldn't help but remember the talks about sealed artifacts used by almost every strong person in the empire. According to her, each noble family in the empire has at least one sealed artifact as a trump card. If mere noble families can have that much, Lucien couldn't help but wonder how many sealed artifacts the emperor may have on him.

"To reach the royal palace, we needed to take at least five teleportation platforms … While approaching, the emperor is already informed about the identities of those approaching and he is the one that permits me each time we teleport… if the emperor sees anything fishy about my movements and companions, he can easily cut me off halfway, so you don't have to worry since I don't bring people with me… you are the first" Instructor Han explained.

It turns out that before Instructor Han can make a trip here, the emperor needs to be informed beforehand and each teleportation platform used has to be approved by the emperor first. That explains why the emperor I alone here in the throne room, it seems he was expecting them!

"Strong my ass" Lucien cursed in a low tone.

"So why are you here? Have you made up your mind on what your last request should be?" Emperor Fei asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I don't actually plan on using my final request here… I'm just here to ask go two favors" Lucien said shamelessly.

The throne room was silent for a while before the emperor finally spoke.

"It depends on the requests… so I can't promise anything" Emperor Fei said while leaning forward.

"Great!" Lucien exclaimed while taking a few steps forward.

"I know the royal family is wealthy, so I want a high-grade Orchilium forge sword…. That's the first request" Lucien said slowly.

Listening to him from behind, Instructor Han's jaws dropped as he was stunned by Lucien's greed. In this world, there are five forging metals with each graded according to quality.

There was the Hakril which is the material, Lucien's wind creek blade was made of. It is considered the weakest metal used for forging magic weapons. The next is Fesnoisium and then there is the Orchilium, the Dusnalt, and the best known as the Dantai ore. Picking the third best amongst the five out of the blue was just too shocking! A piece of equipment made of Orchilium can sell for over 10 gold at the very least!

This is a blatant robbery!

"You are right… as the emperor, it is a well-known fact that I am wealthy… Your request won't put a dent in my pouch but I wish to know, why? Why can't you accept a lower-grade magic weapon?" Emperor Fei asked calmly.

"I wish to forge a high-grade magic weapon, wielding four elements… and some beast's characteristics," Lucien said confidently cashing the emperor's body the shudder.

They are numerous magic weapons and magic types of equipment that buff a person's physics capabilities while the rest grant elemental abilities but none has ever been able to that can be able to Replicate the abilities of magic beasts. Seeing the confidence in Lucien's face they couldn't help but shudder in fear as they considered the possibility of this kid pulls this off.

While everyone was aware of the existence of the wind creek dagger created by Lucien, it can be considered a weapon of the lowest grade so naturally, no one took it seriously.

"Are you certain you can do this?" Emperor Fei leaned forward even more as he asked.

"If I can get an equipment that can wield the power of four elements and two general level magic beasts… yes I am sure I can do it!" Lucien said firmly.

If it were in the past, Lucien wouldn't dare do but now he had no intentions of letting this opportunity pass by! He planned to recreate the Raizen clan family heirloom but an even more powerful weapon that only he can use!

The trio appeared in a large yet abandoned room filled with so many weapons of different qualities, Lucien could swear everything here would be worth at least hundreds of thousands of gold coins! His eyes sparkled lol that of a little child as he ran over to the Orchilium and Dusnalt grade weapons searching for the perfect one to pick.

"Why are there no Dantai grade weapons and equipment here?" Lucien asked casually while looking around, leaving the emperor and Instructor Han stunned.

How can a first-year student tell the difference between the weapon grades with just a glance? Unknown to them, the system revealed the grade of each weapon as he sets his eyes on it. With a glance, he could tell Instructor Han was wearing a few orchilium grade pieces of equipment and a piece of single Dusnalt equipment which could be considered extravagant for the mere instructor but Lucien found It reasonable for him to have all that when his greatest ally is a wealthy emperor.

"You can tell the grades of magic weapons just by looking at it?" Instructor Han asked with a raised eyebrow.

"The only Dantai grade pieces of equipment in the empire are worn by me at all times" Emperor Fei said casually.

"And I guess you have something that masks your gear since I can't see them, Unlike that of instructor Han" Lucien said while shooting the emperor a long gaze.

Sighing ruefully, Lucien turned his attention to the weapon section of the room, searching for the perfect equipment. His eyes stopped at the black cylindrical hilt which reminded him of the Raizen clan family heirloom.

"This is perfect but it's a Dusnalt grade weapon" Lucien said as he picked up the bladeless black hilt.

"As long as you have a fifty percent chance of succeeding, I don't mind what grade you pick… but I wish to know what your plans for the future are" Emperor Fei asked with a stern face.

In his opinion, Lucien is no longer the kid he uses to be in the past. Not only has he grown far stronger than he and instructor Han ever imagined but he has also gathered enough achievements to get the attention of every prominent person in the empire and probably beyond, so the emperor saw no reason to treat him like a child anymore. Instead, he chose to see the kid now as a potential threw and Rival! Someone actually capable of taking his title if care is not taken.

"Me? My plans? Let's see… Graduate, destroy the Raizen clan head and take his position and finally defeat you and become the new beast emperor!" Lucien said with a sly smile on his face.
