Chapter 67: 3rd sky of the human realm

"Lucien?" Dean Fei Xio asked with a hint of surprise in his eyes. 

He turned to meet the gaze of the other surprised instructors and even instructor Han was shocked by this. He expected to grow really fast and get stronger at a rate where his peers can never compare but he didn't expect it to be this fast. Gazing at the two figures constantly clashing within the expanding hurricane anyone would think two general-level magic beasts were clashing! To think this is a battle between a first year and a general level magic beast.

"How did he get so strong?" Instructor Emma asked with an astonished look on her face.

Instructor Han was reluctant to speak but thankfully, Hex explained according to what Lucien had told them. He told them Lucien had gotten an artifact that allowed him to assimilate the powers of magic beasts he kills and explained that Lucien had already killed a devil demon and a general level hell hound and with the knowledge of his tier three spells, it is not too shocking he is able to take on a general level beast alone.

Listening to Hex speak, the dean and the other instructors felt like their heads were spinning. Not only does he have the strength of a soldier and general level magic beast, but he also learned how to cast a handful of tier two and tier three spells in a matter of weeks after he got the grimoire from Instructor Emma! Isn't this level of talent too terrifying and unbelievable?

With the Lightborn family trio arriving and explaining what happened above and Instructor Han confirming Hex's story about Lucien having the power to assimilate the abilities of magic beasts killed by him, they quickly shut their mouths and watched.

"Should we help him?" Instructor Emma asked with a hint of concern on her face.

"Pay attention to his aura and you will realize that he is about to break through into a higher realm with this battle… I believe it's best we only observe for now and only get involved when his life is at risk.

"Tier 3 lightning magic: Lightning descent!" Lucien's voice boomed like thunderclaps as countless thunderbolts shot into the hurricane, creating a powerful explosion that sent both the magic beasts and humans flying off the hilltop.

'Crap!' Lucien screamed in his mind as he struggled to regain control of his body but to no avail.

He and the nightmare crashed just a few hundred meters away from the Dean and the instructors. They watched Lucien who was covered in deep claw wounds rise to his feet, alongside the nightmare demon who was equally badly injured as well. Seeing the faint hell hound figure standing behind Lucien everyone could guess he only managed to survive the fall because he was already using the shift, granting him the physical prowess of the hell hound. They gazed at his body and saw the three tattoos on his body and they couldn't help but nod in approval. 

All that Hex had told them was true.

Lucien, on the other hand, noticed the instructors and the dean but since they didn't show any sign of interfering, coupled with the strange look on their faces, he could tell they already knew about the beast assimilation and everything so he had no intentions of holding back.

He began walking toward the nightmare at a controlled pace. His eyes showed no signs of emotions, not fear, not, anger, not anxiety, nothing! 

"Let us put an end to this!" Lucien said as he shot his stats a quick glance.

"Let's go!" Lucien growled as his eyes turned black and the image of the black devil appeared behind him!

With his figure shrouded in his black aura, Lucien shot towards the nightmare demon with all his might. Before he could even close, the nightmare demon swung its claws at the shadow, splitting it into three parts but Lucien was no longer in the shadow.

Everyone watched as the youth spun violently as his eyes turned orange and surging flames began appearing around him.

[Blazing flame wheel skill activated]

Soon the surging yellow flames took the shape of a massive fire wheel, descending from the heavens. Face with this, the nightmare creature released a shriek before releasing a shadow storm around it!

The ground trembled as both abilities clashed violently! Watching the battle closely, Dean Fei Xio and the instructors couldn't help but feel astonished by Lucien's skill and talent as a fighter. They watched as escaped the fire wheel which was clashing with the black storm, and a pair of pitch-black eyes, Lucien sank into the nightmare demon's shadow only to spring out moments later with a triumphant smile on his face as he said;

[Shadow steal: The user is able to steal the shadow of those he enters using shadow hop. This boosts the strength of the caster's shadow skills while weakening the enemy… For each shadow the user steals, he gains 1% beats assimilation point as well]

[Force wall:  The user releases powerful force energy all around himself, defending him from attacks while knocking away enemies]

[Shadow storm: The user releases a chaotic storm of darkness around him. This spell is mostly used for defensive purposes]

Everyone watched as the shadow of the nightmare shadow sank into his own and instantly, all his injuries got healed and his aura suddenly exploded!

Seeing this a smile appeared on Lucien's face as his eyes turned silver and a threefold magic array appeared around him.

"Tier 3 wind magic: Wind bind!" Lucien said softly as a wind storm formed around the weakened nightmare demon, effortlessly lifting it off the ground.

He watched as the wind storm slowly changed form and became a ferocious wind cocoon, sealing the magic beast within it while remaining suspended in mid.

Thud!

Suddenly Lucien felt a pain in his chest and he knew he had little time left so he proceeded on using the module Q1 effects to keep the wind bind active while he focused on breakthrough into a higher realm.

Everyone on the side lanes watched as the mana across the area began surging towards Lucien and entering his body forcefully. The instructors and Dean were stunned since they have never experienced something this flashy during breakthrough, leaving only Instructor Han who was too stunned because has seen this before. They watched as the mana in the area kept getting thinner as Lucien's body greedily consumed it, while this happened his wind bind spell was still active and they couldn't help but wonder how he is undergoing a breakthrough and is still able to maintain a tier three spell!

"This kid is a monster!" The beast-man instructor, Cain roared as he watched Lucien's body slowly levitate off the ground.

"I agree" Instructor Kane of the slayer path nodded in agreement.

He could remember when Lucien regained his powers and attended his class for the first time, he didn't know why but he felt like he was looking at a monster.

Soon after, Lucien refused to practice any one of the countless martial arts recorded and insisted on creating his own and that's how the powerful and fast Haya-ken fighting style was created.

When Lucien's body reached its saturation point, the excess mana he consumed was quickly repelled and his eyes yanked open.
