Chapter 59: Killing the hell hound!

Tier three lightning magic: Zeus!

Lucien pulled Brian back as he met the Hell hounds attack with the massive lightning spear!

Wooooooooooo!

A powerful shockwave occurred, brightening the dark night as three figures alone stood out! It was Lucien, Brian, and the Hell hound!

BANG!

The ground beneath their feet began sinking as the explosive force of the two attacks reached its peak causing the hell hound to let out a loud wail before getting thrown back like a piece of rag by the lightning spell!

Everyone watched as the hell hound struggled with the lightning spear as it was thrown back several hundred meters away! This is the power of the strongest recorded lightning spell!

Lucien kept breathing heavily with the terribly pale Brian in his arms. His right hand which was used to channel the lightning spell was burnt beyond recognition, filled with blisters deep wounds.

"I messed up" Hex muttered as he gazed at the condition of his two teammates!

While he was too bothered with Lucien's strength, he lost focus in their battle and because of that, the duo got hurt badly because of him.

Lenard, Susie, and Logan stood there in shock, gazing at Lucien with a hint of fear in his eyes. Looking at him, they sincerely doubted that anyone amongst the first years will be able to stand a chance against him. They finally understood why the emperor and instructor Han dared to take him along when dealing with the invaders.

The Hell hound let out a weakened growl as it struggled to get on its feet. The general-level beast was lacking a limb where the lightning spell struck. Black blood poured out of its injuries as its body trembled greatly and its glowing orange eyes deemed considerably. It kept limping pathetically while gazing at Lucien with its murderous eyes.

"You, bastard dog refuses to die?" Lucien muttered weakly as he glanced at his stats.

'Just as I predicted the tier three spell hurt me even more… I barely have enough mana and tier-one spells are not enough to deal with the enemy… even in its weakened state, it should be stronger than soldier realm magic beasts' Lucien thought as he gently placed Brian on the ground.

"L-Lucien?" Brian muttered weakly. He too could see how hurt Lucien had gotten! His condition was only slightly better than his, yet he still wants to fight the magic beast?

Seeing the condition of his best friend, Lucien felt annoyed beyond reason. Rising to his feet, he ignored everyone around him and started walking towards the hell hound at a moderate pace. Seeing its arch-enemy approach, the Hell hound began limping towards him. No one of them wanted to back out!

ROAR!

The hell hound's neck lit up and expanded as it began gathering flames for its next attack!

"Not so fast! Shadow steal!" Lucien growled as his eyes turned pitch black and the image of the Black devil appeared behind him.

Instantly the glow in the hell hound's neck vanished and its shadow was forcefully dragged towards Lucien. The moment the Hell hound's shadow sank into Lucien's his injuries magically vanished and he regained his original look.

"Now you are weakened, my abilities will work" Lucien said with glowing silver eyes as he took bold strides forward.

With its shadow stolen and its body weakened even further, the Hell hound could barely stand. Its eyes dimmed even more and it was obvious to all that the magic beast has weakened.

"Let's end this!" Lucien growled as the threefold silver star pattern appeared beneath his feet and his already glowing eyes glowed even brighter, to end the life of a powerful magic beast he had no intentions of holding back!

"Tier three wind magic: Hurricane!" Lucien growled.

This is the tier three variant of the tier two spell hurricane! Upon release, an enormous hurricane that could almost kiss the skies formed around the magic beast, sweeping it off its feet. Lucien watched with an annoyed look on his face as the magic beast struggled within the hurricane but it still couldn't break free. 

"It ends here…" Lucien growled as another threefold blue star pattern appeared beneath his feet. 

His eyes let out a blue glow as lightning surged around him viciously!

"Tier three lightning magic: Lightning descent!" Lucien growled as he punched the ground as black clouds gathered above the hurricane.

Everyone watched in horror as series of thunderbolts struck the magic beast within the hurricane! With each strike, a good portion of its body got blown away and after five strikes, all that was left behind was a miserable hell hound in a miserable state.

Ignoring the series of notifications, Lucien decided to take the most valuable part of the hellhound he could collect now. This is a part he forget to collect from the black devil since he was too focused on how to survive.

It was the beast core of the hell hound!

A beast core is considered the remnants of a dead magic beast containing its power. These beast cores can be used for cultivation, to forge magic weapons, and can even be used as a power source or an ingredient for alchemy. His eyes let out a silver light as his hands turned into a talon! Without wasting much time, Lucien proceeded to smash his fist into the dead magic beast's chest and after some second he pulled out a fist-sized glowing orange crystal. 

It was a general-level magic core possessing the fire element! Any fire mage who uses this to cultivate will definitely have their firepower increased and their soul flame changed.

Hex gazed at this greedily, silently praying that Lucien would gift this to him but that never happened. With the core in his hand, Lucien finally turned his attention to the notifications received.

Seeing this Lucien felt elated, he was wondering how to store all this and he didn't plan on asking Hex for help. With this, he felt relieved that he wouldn't have to ask for help again.

"Store…" He shut his eyes and concentrated as he spoke.

Suddenly he felt the crystal in his hands vanished and only after seeing the notification did he rest easy. He proceeded to place his hand on the huge body of the hell hound and repeat the same word.

"Store!"

Saying this, everyone watched as the huge corpse of the hell hound getting pulled in by what seemed like a black hole! Seeing this they instantly knew that this was not something a storage ring can do but no one spoke since Lucien kept using the identity emperor to defend his new abilities. They knew the importance of a magic beast's body and its core and how much its worth but no one dared to bargain with Lucien for the loot, since they already knew how strong he is!

He would most likely wipe them out with one tier three spell if they fight him…
