Chapter 40: Revealing the truth

Gazing at the notification, Lucien didn't know what to say. He was tempted to open the section concerning the beast assimilation and even do more but he couldn't since he wasn't sure the members of the Raizen clan won't attack.

"And the battle ends… Good luck finding a new prodigy in a short time" Lucien hissed at Lucas as he threw him the middle finger before taking bold steps back and then walking away. The emperor and Instructor Han gazed at him with a hint of excitement in their eyes.

Lucien may have been hurt by the spear and his cultivation almost crippled but even without his elements, he was far stronger than he has ever been!

"NONE MAY LOOK THE EMPEROR IN THE EYE… what an interesting to say… I sincerely thought he had given up on his dreams after the incident but even now he is more determined and even dares to call himself an emperor in my presence… Good… very good! I like this kid!" Emperor Fei laughed out loud.

His laughter grew louder and then he was consumed by a pillar of flames which proceeded to shoot towards Lucien whose back was turned. These caused everyone to gasp as they are retreated, trying to reduce the distance between them and Lucien who is the target of the flame pillar

Brrrrrrrrr!

The entire hall began trembling as the small pillar of flame soon became a massive firestorm but even then Lucien didn't look flustered. He turned and faced the incoming firestorm and contrary to everyone's expectations he threw a thumbs up towards the direction of the blazing orange flames.

"Flashy as always… Show off" Lucien commented casually.

Swoosh…

The intense flames vanished just before it hit Lucien revealing Emperor Fei's figure. His eyes were fixated on the thumbs up thrown at him and he couldn't help but ask.

"What if I actually tried to kill you? You won't even try to fight back?"

"Your flames… I couldn't feel the heat… You never intended to hurt me and even if you did how can I resist?… I don't think you have a reason to kill me either" Lucien said casually.

"True, true…" The emperor nodded in approval before adding.

"As for a reason, your strength is proof that it worked, why wouldn't I want to take it? Don't you think you should be a bit wary of me?" Emperor Fei asked.

"Currently, you and Instructor Han are the only families I have… I trust you… That's all there is to it.

.. these are the words of an emperor to another emperor… You should cherish it" Lucien said with a smile.

His words caused Emperor Fei to laugh out loud while gripping his belly lightly. They both kept laughing that they didn't notice Instructor Han appear behind them and place his hand on Lucien's head. This made Lucien yelp in surprise and jump away instinctively.

"You are not scared of me but you are scared of him?" Emperor Fei complained with a frown.

"I fear no one!" Lucien argued with his reddened face filled with embarrassment.

"Yea, yeah… I believe you… You are a tough guy… we need to leave now or you may be late for the first class today"

"Ooh, Shit!"

With that said, the Trio left the grand hall of the Raizen clan. Leaving behind a stunned audience and two corpses. Unknown to Lucien, not only did he make new enemies but he has also angered powerful figures in the Raizen clan by killing off the only two prodigies of his generation in the clan.

Riding the royal carriage, Lucien finally felt safe and decided to inspect his gains from accomplishing the mission.

The wind creek gathers enough momentum to kill even larger creatures with a hit but from severe recoil damage after collision]

"Wow…" Lucien couldn't help but gasp at the information given to him by the system.

He had a fair understanding of what the beast assimilation does and couldn't help but feel ecstatic about it! The ability to pass on the powers of real magic beasts he kills over to himself, isn't that overpowered? Gazing at the Emperor, he couldn't help but imagine gaining the powers of the top-tier Phoenix god beast. The thought of becoming an adventurer began popping up since this meant he can leave the empire and explore the continent! Killing magic beasts and getting stronger!

"Wow…" He muttered again.

"Wow!" Lucien almost screamed this time but was brought back to reality by a punch to the shoulder! Only then did he realize that Emperor Fei and Instructor Han were still in the carriage with him.

"Did you go crazy or is there something you are not telling us?" Emperor Fei asked with an unusual stern face.

Shifting his gaze to instructor Han, Lucien realized he too wore a stern look on his face but he didn't care because he was too excited to be bothered.

"I will surpass you soon" Lucien blurted out in reply to his question, leaving both of them stunned.
