Chapter 36: Pride of an emperor!

Within the week, Instructor Han was treated as an important guest in the Raizen household. During that period, he occasionally checked on Lucien and apart from the unusual smile on Lucien's face, he found nothing new. Lucien on the other hand had no intentions of sharing the secrets of his new system with Instructor Han or Emperor Fei. At least not until his debut match with the Raizen family.

During that time his growth reduced greatly since there were no more past achievements to leech off apart from the daily workout routine which only grants ten experience points a day. Even though he cursed the system every day for its stingy rewards he ended up following the daily workout routine religiously.

Lucien summoned his information panel once again and shot it a glance. He previously had two unused points and this time he decided to share the stats equally. He put one point in his speed stat, returning himself to his peak in terms of mobility, and put the remaining point in the strength stat since he believed a speedster without sufficient strength is worthless.

"I guess that's all I can do for now… I will have to depend on this level of strength until I find a way to gain more experience points" Lucien sighed ruefully.

Three loud knocks shook the door of his room but he chose to ignore it. He already knew the time for the clan meeting had arrived and he was already prepared for this. Instead of putting on the Silver kimono with the Raizen clan crest used to identify the main branch members of the Raizen clan, Lucien chose to wear a black sleeveless shirt with black trousers and his feet left bare. These clothes were acquired by Instructor Han as per his request.

"Lucien… Its time"

After countless knocks, Instructor Han finally spoke, and only then did Lucien walk out of the room with an emotionless expression on his face.

"You sure know how to cause trouble" Instructor Han said with a stern look while pointing at the Raizen clan guards who wore annoyed looks on their faces.

"Since I am leaving, I believe someone of my status deserves to go down with a bang… I will cause as much trouble as possible before I leave!" Lucien said, causing Instructor Han to reveal a rare smile.

"That's how it's done…" Instructor Han muttered while giving him a thumbs up.

Lucien felt an arm reaching for him but it was intercepted midway by Instructor Han.

"Randolf?" Lucien called out as he caught sight of the beast-man who tried to touch him. It was the man he once called uncle.

"No one lays a hand on him... Emperor's orders!" Instructor Han said coldly while tightening his grip on Randolf's arm.

"A mere human dares to lay his hands on me? Do you think the emperor would care if someone as insignificant as you disappears?" Randolf growled in response.

"Yes, the emperor will care because this man is more capable than most members of this clan… And don't think I will let you harm him… To me, this man is more of a family than you all have ever been" Lucien said coldly, with his murderous gaze piercing into Randolf.

Hearing his words, everyone including Instructor Han was left shocked. They were all aware of the way Lucien viewed the human race and none of them expected a day would come when Lucien would defend a human!

"Maybe the chief is right… you have really fallen, Lucien" Randolf said coldly as he withdrew his hand.

"Your clan turned its back on me... Don't worry, I will make sure the entire clan regrets the day it made this foolish decision!" Lucien said before walking forward with Instructor Han following him tightly behind.

Randolf and the other guards watched Lucien walk away and for some reason, something deep down in them told them that the clan made a big mistake the moment it chose to make an enemy out of Lucien!

The massive doors swung open as Lucien walked in fearlessly with instructor Han by his side. Behind him were Randolf and other members of the Raizen clan lightning guards.

This time the hall was filled to the brim with members of both the main and lesser branch of the clan. On the highest platform of the room the clan head Lucas and the emperor, Fei were seated, while the elders of the clan were left to seat at a lower platform.

Seeing Lucien arrive so confidently, whispers echoed all over the room as every member of the Raizen clan couldn't help but try to guess what went wrong between the clan and its brightest genius, Lucien.

Didn't he bring the clan more fame in just a few days of his departure?

Didn't he serve the Empire while facing off the invaders twice despite almost losing his life the first time?

Yes, he lost his cultivation as a result of his final battle and so what? He killed nine invaders all alone!

"Lucien Raizen, my grandson…. You have done well by bringing great fame to this clan and by serving the empire well… Unfortunately, your journey was cut short by the enemy and with your cultivation crippled, you can no longer be considered the clan heir… With a heavy heart, I declare that from today, you will become a member of the lesser branch and all that belongs to you will be move from the main branch castle… But to compensate for your good deeds… I Luc…"

"Please shut up!" Lucien said fearlessly interrupting his grandfather's long and boring speech, leaving everyone stunned and the emperor excited!

"Lucas Raizen… I, Lucien declare that from this day forward I will no longer bear the Raizen name… I refuse to be a part of this pitiful family… Keep your crappy compensation and never show your face to me again… If not, I may end up killing you" Lucien said those words so calmly that the entire hall fell silent for a few moments before an uproar followed!

Amidst the noise, a familiar, long-awaited bell ringing sound echoed in his ear and a new notification appeared.
