Chapter 226: Shocking news!

The effect of Lucien's word was still booming at the time and many of the nobles discussed amongst themselves in hushed tones while Lucien stared at them in silence. He smiled and nodded his head before he stood up and moved behind his throne where Alice and Instructor Han stood. Surprised to see Lucien walk towards them, they wondered if something happened but Lucien just gave Instructor Han a fist bump before kissing Alice on the forehead. 

The last act got the attention of everyone in the room, making Alice flush red and took an attempt to take a step back but Lucien gently grabbed her shoulders in a delicate manner, breaking what was left of her mental fortitude. Seeing what was happening Klaus smiled sheepishly as he shot Alice a wink and threw a thumbs up at Instructor Han who threw a thumbs-up back at him.

"I left both of you for a while now… I was too focused on the problems ahead that I didn't make time for any of you and ended up shifting both of you to the sidelines… I apologize for that" Lucien muttered those words for just the two of them to hear, leaving them surprised.

Who would think that an emperor would apologize to people as little and weak as them?

"I have three major announcements to make before this meeting is brought to an end!" Lucien turned and spoke to everyone in the room while holding but Instructor Han and Alice, pulling them to the front of the throne!

"The first is the clear the air on my… Status…." Lucien said the last part with some difficulty making the nobles laugh.

"I am dating Alice Lightborn… Granddaughter of the hot-headed Klaus Lightborn…" Lucien said Klaus almost choked on his saliva but Lucien paid no attention to him and continued.

"The second announcement is for everyone who is yet to understand my relationship with Han…. He lacked the last name because he was from no noble family and even though he had a strong relationship with the previous emperor, he was not given a name… From this day onwards, he will bear the last name Rakuzen and stand as my brother!" Lucien said with a serious look on his face.

When instructor Han heard this he was astonished and even his silver eyes shook slightly as he felt emotions swelling up in him. He wanted to speak but he didn't know what to say and how to say it. He felt it would be wrong if he didn't say anything but all that could escape his mouth was

"Thank you…."

Hearing this Lucien smiled. He remembered how easily Instructor Han was targeted when the coup was yet to begin during the time of Emperor Fei. Han was the first target they could think of since he didn't have any backing and was no different from a simple man that struggled his way to the top! Without any solid background his achievements mean nothing and that's the gap Lucien intended to fill.

"Finally, In the next few months, I will focus on my personal life and cultivation… I may have acquired three inheritances but it doesn't mean much if I cannot understand the laws behind them and improve my cultivation… The creed leader is a demigod just a few steps away from the god realm and something tells me that the next time he appears, he will be coming in full strength… I trust Derik Angus is making preparations so I have to do the same… Until I am ready to take charge of everything again, Instructor Han will serve in my place… He will be the one to communicate with me and relay my words… Do not forget, I trust his judgment… so any decision made by him will be no different from mine" Lucien said with a serious look on his face. 

After that, the meeting ended and everyone left the palace. The news of Lucien dating Alice soon spread far and wide, making a lot of his female fans disappointed but there was nothing they could do about it. At least he is able to walk on the streets without girls clustering around him. At first, they felt wronged but after checking the history between the two they couldn't help but admit that both of them have been through enough together for Lucien to pick her. 

There were still women from the beast-men race who felt offended by the fact that Lucien picked a human girl over them but with their clan heads in support of Lucien's decision, no one dared speak against him.

Meanwhile that night, Lucien had dinner with Instructor Han, Alice, and Aponi. They ate and chatted about their life now and their plans for the future. During that time, Lucien told them more about his plans with Derik and the truth about the celestial beings which he hid from the council. He told them of his plans to join hands with Derik to reach the celestial realm and finally protect this realm together with him from the celestial beings!

Saying this, Alice was a bit saddened by the fact that Lucien aimed to leave this world for a higher purpose and then what will happen to her. She wanted to voice her concern but then she realized something. The world around her will keep changing and if she is unable to keep up with the change she will be forgotten! If she wants to remain with Lucien, she has to cultivate more and try to reach the god realm. That way they can both leave the realm of mortals together.

Dinner was over and after a long session of intimacy with Alice, Lucien sat up on his bed and put his pants on before gazing at one of the dark corners in the room.

"Why are you here?" Lucien asked.

"You could tell I was here? You are more capable than I think… I thought you would have slept off since all signs show something wild went on in here" Derik responded with slight chuckles, pissing Lucien off.

Even before becoming emperor, he hated it when people invaded his privacy without knocking on the door first! Maybe they considered this cool but he found it annoying!

"If you do not have a legit reason to be here, chances are we may end up having our deathmatch right here and now!" Lucien said in a cold voice but the red eyes within the darkness showed no emotions, neither did he show any sign of remorse!

"And you think you can win against me?" Derik asked.

"I know I won't lose" Lucien responded as he got on his feet and bright blue dragon scales appeared all around his body. On his back were two pairs of wings, one made of lightning and the other made of bright blue phoenix flames.

"Cute" Derik said calmly as he walked out of the shadow, revealing a mouth filled with razor-sharp teeth and darkness pouring out of all the holes on his body! 

His eyes released a red intimidating flash and even Lucien couldn't help but frown. They both moved their gaze to the worn-out Alice who was sleeping and Derik revealed a sinister smile, making Lucien frown even more!

"You wouldn't!" Lucien said.

"I would do whatever it takes to win!" Derik said in a threatening tone.

"Shameless!" Lucien almost growled but barely controlled his temper but even then Derik wasn't moved.

"Many has called me that and never have I denied it! Your move!" Derik said as claws appeared on his hands and his black aura began spreading towards the unsuspecting sleeping Alice!

Seeing this, Lucien released a defeated sigh and released his power, returning to his human form. He didn't think an ancient being like Derik would be shameless enough to use a hostage in a battle! But what Derik said is true, it is not the method that matters but the result!

By the way, history is written by the victors and not the defeated!

"About the Libet empire… Do you think they will cooperate?" Lucien asked.

Seeing that Lucien had calmed down, Derik withdrew his aura and focused on the conversation.

"I have given them a second chance… Should they fail to meet my expectations, they will die!" Derik said calmly, leaving Lucien stunned!

Second chance?

Did he threaten an empire?

"What do you mean by a second chance?

"They noticed I am not fully human and tried to take my life… After a short battle, I spared their lives and filled them in on what is going on before leaving for this place… I intend to make a trip to the Drakon empire and when it is all over, I will return to the Libet empire in hopes of getting their answer… If it's not what I want, I will be forced to kill them all and take over the empire!" Derik said calmly once again but Lucien shivered!

Not only did he plan to kill the leading figures in the Libet empire, but he was also planning to force the Drakon empire into an alliance as well!
