Chapter 186: A new empire

Hearing Instructor Han's words, Lucien frowned. He already expected this to happen but he didn't expect it to happen so soon. Apart from the emperor, the other descendants of the Hayato clan had no prominent figure that could rival the emperor in talent or at least come anywhere near him. Lucien was considered a monster in terms of talent and had the guts and that is probably why someone as powerful as the emperor even bothered looking his way. But with the emperor gone and with a very high possibility that the humans will wield the most power in this new era of the empire, no one really had much regard for the Hayato clan. As long as the other clans had experts that can rival them in strength, there is no reason for them to be polite towards them.

Lucien didn't say anything and simply walked towards the throne room at a rather fast pace and Instructor Han and Alice chased after him hurriedly.

Bam!

The huge grand hall doors yanked open and Lucien walked in with a rather calm look on his face. On his way here, Instructor Han briefed him on everything that has taken place so far and he found it quite amusing. What started as an argument between two clans turned into a battle but thanks to the magic tower the combatants who dared fight within his domain were reduced to ashes before the fight could escalate any further. 

Entering the room he could feel the tense atmosphere but Lucien acted like none of this concerned him as he walked towards the throne at the other end of the room and sat down. Instructor Han and Alice stood behind him as he rested his chin on his wrist and with his eyes shut as if he was pondering on something. The entire room turned silent as they waited attentively for Lucien to say something but even after five minutes he said nothing making many restless.

"You know… I just a man who I considered a father just a day ago…. Your king and yet this is what I get after resting for a short time…" Lucien's voice was calm but after everything that happened the previous day, many considered him amazing and feared him almost as much as they feared the emperor.

"Your emperor died just recently and honestly if I come here and see you guys plotting vengeance on the empire that has taken away someone precious to us all, I will consider it more reasonable than what is going on right now… So I wish to ask a question to all of you right here… Does your position in the Rakuzen clan or the state of the empire?" Lucien asked calmly.

He knew his clan grew in strength ever since the Hayato clan and the Raizen clan joined his with their subsidiary clans. The twelve imperial knights were from the clans who rebelled against the emperor and that's why they stood no chance. They were lacking numbers and then there was also the Derik factor. Everything right now was messed up in Lucien's mind and even now he knew he still hadn't checked all his updates from the system. He hated the fact that things were happening too fast forcing him to neglect many important things.

"What are your plans now?" Hayato Xio asked.

This man used to be the dean of the Fotia academy but after everything that happened he had neither the will nor zeal to train the kids of the other clans. He couldn't trust himself not to go on a rampage one day and brutally murder all the kids from the enemy clans one day so he decided to just stick with Lucien and since he made that choice as the son of the late emperor, the rest of the clan followed him.

The Raizen clan on their own path had already accepted Lucien as their leader and didn't hesitate to move to his territory, making the Rakuzen the strongest clan in the empire as of the moment. But even then Lucien didn't feel at ease since more power means more opposition. With the kind of strength he has gathered in one clan, the rest of the empire will definitely view him as a threat and try to weaken him but none of that mattered to him right now.

"Hayato Xio and Raizen Randolf will be the two representatives who are allowed to relay messages to me directly… Pass all your grievances on to them and when I return, I will listen to all of them and make necessary changes… As for the previous elders of the clans… Chill… The power system and positons of this clan will soon be put in place… There is a place for everyone… For now, I have to return to the capital and have a look at what's going on… Instructor Han has been the emperor's right-hand man to the very end… He will be mine too, so treat him with respect while I am gone… Remember news of my absence must not be known by anyone outside this room" Lucien said before exploding into a body of gray mist and surging out of the room.

He quickly put on his golden hood over his head as he sneaked out of the palace and left the Rakuzen territory without anyone knowing. The events of the capital have reached every part of the empire by now so the people are shaken badly. Since Lucien had a close relationship with the emperor, many are scared that they would be the next target of the coup so they felt safer with their undefeated champion around.

"Bring up all notifications!" Lucien said coldly as he left the gates of Rakuzen territory.

Seeing this, Lucien frowned since he realized he no longer gained experience points for achievements neither did he gain empire points. He guessed that these things are not necessary anymore for the system and with time the system will just grant him rewards according to his deeds. Apart from that he also realized that his link to the Rakuzen had increased exponentially. He could tell that Rakuzen was extremely tired after everything that happened the previous days. He could feel that Rakuzen has spent too much power and maybe asleep for some time.

Whoosh!

Using the teleportation platforms, Lucien reached the capital in just a few minutes and in just a few seconds he reached the location of the royal palace which has now been reduced to a wasteland. There he saw a massive round table and the other major noble head families sitting around the table in silence.

Klaus of the Lightborn family felt extremely uncomfortable since he and the Wuxing clan head are the only ones who did not support the coup present but seeing Lucien, he felt unusually relaxed while the other noble clan heads felt tensed upon his arrival. Right, Lucien confirmed what the system said about him becoming a new superpower in the empire. His presence alone has different psychological effects on both friends and foes. 

Seeing Lucien take a seat without saying a word to anyone many of the nobles were enraged but they dared not look Lucien in the eye.

"I guess we are all here" The old man of the Lucardo clan said with a  slight smile on his face and his eyes shut tight as always.

Hearing his words Lucien shot the man a glance before turning his attention to those around him. All the clan heads responsible for the coup were present except one, making Lucien frown.

"If you are looking for the head of the Hammond clan then I am sad to say he succumbed to his wounds… You dealt a decisive blow yesterday and we are here to administer your punishment today!" The Luno god beast clan head said with a frown!
