Only two silver lights could be seen from both sides, clashing at the center but even then none could see their hands moving. Lucien and the Lucardo clan head stood just a few breathes away from each other as they exchanged relentless attacks, so fast that they traded over a thousand blows in just a minute!

"Break!" the two combatants growled as they clashed once more, creating a mild shockwave that forced them to retreat a few meters back.

Seeing both combatants retreat, many were stunned and confused. While Lucien's hands were covered in shallow blade cuts the old man looked perfectly fine but even then they couldn't tell who must have won in the exchange. He may look more hurt but the fact he used his fists against a blade, earned him the respect of many on the enemy side.

"You are truly amazing young lad! It's a shame Lukas got on your wrong side" The Lucardo clan head said with a slightly sad look on his face but Lucien knew it was all an act.

Since he has known this old monster from his younger days, he grew to understand one thing about the clan head of the Lucardo clan.

The man is more venomous than any snake in this world.

He always wore a friendly smile and that's what scares Lucien the most since he can't tell what the old man is thinking but this didn't mean he is scared of the old man in any way!

"This is nothing…. Compared to my old man you are a tad bit slower" Lucien said while flexing his shoulder with an indifferent look on his face.

"Hahahahaha! When using my silent blade martial technique even your old man had no choice but to flee… Don't get me wrong, I am not calling Lukas weak, all I am saying is that I am stronger, so killing me will be far harder" The Lucardo clan head said with the same sly smile on his face but Lucien didn't take his word to heart.

Lucien knew once he loses focus of his main go, it all ends! His goal right now is to aid the emperor at the royal capital, every other thing should be secondary. The old man intends to keep him here and prevent him from backing the emperor up and for that reason he must leave this place fast.

"I have only one question… Did you seek the help of a being beyond your control?" Lucien asked after taking a deep breath.

"The invaders did come in when we were planning this coup… In exchange for our help, they offered the service of their master…" The old man saw no reason in hiding these things anymore but he didn't fail to notice the killing intentions that flashed in Lucien's eyes.

This meant that the Lucardo clan were the ones that housed the invaders when they entered the empire! This explains why they were never found! Many noble clan heads kept them hidden while they were preparing for their final move.

"Do you know this person you are summoning for help, is a being known as the god of death and destruction?" Lucien asked while trying to suppress the killing lights in his eyes.

"Yes, we do… As long as the emperor dies, there are no issues" The old man shrugged his shoulders with indifference, pissing Lucien off even more but even then he restrained himself.

"And what about the other enemies of the empire… Do you think they will let us live after this is over? What happens when the two great empires attack ours? Our forces got weakened because of you all!" Lucien said as calmly as he could. He was tired of meeting these dumb and selfish old men who are too backward in reasoning.

The emperor is a man who wishes to create an empire with equal rights for both humans and beast-men yet his efforts have gone unnoticed! Taking a deep breath, Lucien took a step forward before his body was completely consumed by black bolts of lightning and with each step, the earth trembling beneath his feet got louder. His eyes carried no emotion anymore like when he was pissed off the last time, instead it was just indifferent.

"My last question… Do you think you can keep me here old man?" Lucien said as he took a fighting stance.

"Yes!" The old man of the Lucardo family responded but even then Lucien didn't show any signs of getting pissed or amused.

"GO! Kill them all!" Lucien cried out as his aura exploded and the demonic forces behind him surged forward without warning, swarming the terrified enemies right ahead of them

"Wrong answer!" Lucien jumped lightly before ignoring the chaos taking place around him and turning into a golden being and shooting towards the skies.

[Golden reach activated]

At first, Lucien's expectation was that those demonic beasts will keep the enemy at bay while he escapes but to his greatest surprise a shadowy figure dashing towards him relentlessly.

"Screw you!" Lucien growled as he turned around only to realize the shadowy figure was already in front of him!

"Silent Blade martial technique: Bloom!" the old man roared as he swung down mercilessly, but what was more stunning was that his blade vanished.

Feeling death looming over his head, Lucien's eyes turned cold as he let a scream, making his aura erupt, with the powerful shockwave that sent the old man flying back.

Drops of blood could be seen dropping from above but it wasn't from the old man, it was from Lucien. His left shoulder had been penetrated by the old man's attack and if he didn't react as quickly as he did, he would have lost his hand realizing it! At this point, Lucien didn't know what was more terrifying about this man, he didn't know if he was scared because the man could keep up with his speed, or is it because his Martina technique is too strange?

Lucien's eyes glowed bright silvers numerous hurricanes began appearing around them. As far as he is concerned even a spirit realm expert will find it had to maneuver through a domain spell. While it is not enough to kill them, it will hinder their movements a bit, giving him the advantage in battle.

"Since you are so eager to die, I will send you over to meet your Rival, Lukas!" Lucien growled as he punched forward, releasing a fist-shaped lightning attack but the old man sidestepped before descending a bit, dodging the attack from below before charging forward.

Seeing this Lucien frowned but he didn't complain! Illusionary blue dragon scales appeared all over his body before he began spitting balls of blue flames but just like before, the old man always dodged them at the last moment with his beautiful foot works, making Lucien feel like mages are nothing special compared to those who dedicated their entire lives to develop their physical combat technique!

In just a few seconds, the old man was already standing in front of Lucien with a senile old smile on his face as he slashed forward!

He expected Lucien to dodge but to his greatest surprise threw himself forward, reaching his head with blazing blue hands!

"Reckless! You lose kid!" the old man of the Lucardo clan growled as his blade struck Lucien and something unexpected happened.

His silent blade struck something hard and bounced off it, making his hands go numb! He was too confused to even consider retreating but at that moment, Lucien grabbed the old man by the face with his fire hands.

"In the end, you lost!" Lucien said as his neck suddenly expanded like that of a reptile with blue light glowing fiercely! Even an idiot would understand what was going on especially when his first attack was already blocked by blue dragon scales! Seeing this the old man wasted no time in letting go of his sword before throwing a powerful kick upward!

Before Lucien could spit out the flames, the old man struck his jaw with a fast kick, forcing him to spit out the flames while his face was facing the sky! He quickly grabbed Lucien's hands with his two feeble hands and stepped on Lucien's belly with both legs before pushing himself away but Lucien had no intentions of letting his old man get away!

His eyes let out a blazing blue light as he clawed down and just like that, a massive dragon claw appeared above the Lucardo clan head, descending upon the old man and pushing him all the way to the ground.

"You are quite lucky I have no intention of staying here any longer! Just consider yourself lucky old man!" Lucien said with hints of disgust in his eyes before turning into a bolt of black lightning and shooting away
