Chapter 450 - Becoming Enough

Suddenly two door materialized in front of Ariana, causing her familiars to panic and go wild. No matter what they did they could not get her attention, Ariana was too mesmerized by the doors. One was a pearl white that gave off a soft glow, decorated with a flower pattern that resembled the birthmark on her shoulder. Two different sized pink flowers with petals shaped like hearts.

While the other was made of pure garnet. It was so clear and blood red in colour that Ariana couldn't help but feel that the door was calling out to her specifically but the pearl door was dazzling too. As she stared at the doors she could feel her body slowly pulsing as it resonated with the doors, she licked her lips, she wanted both.

A small light started to swirl in between the doors, it caught Ariana's eyes and pulled her attention away from the doors. Her body relaxed and she felt somewhat drained. As she watched the light it magnificently transformed into a rainbow orb, shinning brightly in the dark space. The changed took Ariana's breath away. 

Then the orb started to pulse, it's shape condesing and expanding as if it was trying to communicate with her but it failed. The orb then flickered. "It's not working anymore." Ariana heard from the orb. "Vasu?" She called out in confusion.

She blinked a few times and the orb started to pulse again. "I need to lead them out of here but something is wrong with Ariana... What do I do?" Aroha asked. "What? How? Wait, what?" Ariana said as she narrowed her gaze at the orb. "I'm losing strength..." Duko gasped. "Duko?! What the hell is going on?!" Ariana yelled. The orb flickered as if pleased with itself.

"Everyone is counting on me to get out.... I need to get it together." Loralei cried.

"It can't go down this path... At this rate everyone will die..." Rahul struggled to say.

"I can't die here... We just started..." Cayden said pitifully.

"No! This can't be real! This has to be a trick! What do you want from me?!" Ariana shouted. The orb stopped moving for a second. Ariana glared at the orb but no more voices were coming out suddenly the orb started to stretch itself out. It moved and pulled like it was made of taffy until a woman's silhouette made of rainbow light stood in between the doors. She stretched out her hands and waited. "I, I need to choose my path?" Ariana asked. The woman nodded her head. Ariana looked left then right. "There's no more time left, this might be the end..." Ariana heard Aroha whisper.

Ariana clutched her head with her clawed hands. "No! No this can't be happening! This is too fast! This is wrong! Rahul, Rahul never told me this could be a possibility! But... this, this could all be part of his plan... Right it could be, so I just have to think things through and-?!" Ariana ranted but was instantly silenced when she heard Cayden's gurgling voice, it was as if he was drowning. "I'm sorry." He coughed out, Ariana's heart stopped.

She let go of her head and looked at the woman made of light. "This, no, no, no, NO! You're tricking me! Time in here doesn't flow... You can't make me believe that all of this is happening!" Ariana shouted. A black slit spread across the silhouette's face as a dark laugh echoed within the space. "I'm right, you're trying to trick me..." Ariana whispered. The woman flipped backwards and turned back into am orb. "G-E-T O-U-T A-N-D L-O-O-K Y-O-U-R-S-E-L-F! Hahahahah!" A dark, chilling voice rang out.

Ariana gulped and glanced at each door before taking a step back. The moment she did the doors started to shake. Ariana hesitated and wondered what she needed to do.

Cayden voice shook her heart. She brought her gaze to the garnet door, she saw the red colour and could feel her blood boiling. She was weak, she was vulnerable, she was completely useless but as a garnet dragon she was powerful, viscous and could end everything in a single blow.

However, Ariana's eyes wavered, she couldn't commit to just power. She looked at the white door and felt her heart skip a beat. "I could save them all... but," Ariana said as temptation was slowly engulfing her. Her familiars were panicking like crazy, each tried to jump down from their pedestal but were block by an invisible force field.

"I can save everyone!" Ariana said in a more excited tone as she slowly started to raise her hand. "It's my best option...." Ariana continued without noticing Howlite started to body slam himself against the force field. Andesine puffed out her cheeks and focused her eyes as her body pulsed. While Celestite was able to change her form into a whip and she focused on attacking the force field.

"This is my choice..." Ariana said as her eyes hazed over and she moved closer towards the pearl white door. The stone cube that sat on Charoite's pedestal started to vibrate violently. The other familiars stopped and looked at the stone. It started to glow a bright magenta and purple colour. Suddenly the lights turned into arrays and the stone shattered.

The other familiars felt a blaze of power course through them and did one more attack, shattering their own prisons. They jumped off the pedestal and slithered at incredible speeds until they wrapped their bodies around Ariana stopping her in her tracks an breath away from the pearl white door. "Huh?" Ariana said as she blinked a few times and looked down at what was keeping her in place.

Snake like creatures in different colours were holding her in place. She met with each of their gazes and felt their silent voices pierce her heart. Ariana dropped her gaze and looked at herself.

"I don't need it... I don't need it!" She started to say with a small voice until in raised in volume. "I DON'T NEED IT!" She shouted as her familiars backed off and freed her. "I don't need one more than the other!" She continued and smashed both doors down with her bare claws and tail. "I am enough!" She cried.

"My friends and I are enough!" She gasped after the destruction of both doors. Suddenly a warm glow started to come from Ariana's body. Ariana stopped and looked at the light. With a giant smile she closed her clawed hands and stood tall and proud.

"We are enough." She said in a confident voice. Her familiar's started to encircle her with glee. "We are enough!" She shouted again feeling her body heat up. "We can do this!" She said as she punched the air and her familiars climbed her body. "Let's kick some a**!"
