Chapter 439 - On the Run Part 2

The woman pulled Ariana towards her and Ariana couldn't help but smile as she folded up her wings. The woman dropped the whip as sparks of electricity fizzled out. She then ran forward to catch Ariana before she landed on the ground. "Umpf!" She said as she caught Ariana in time. "Well that's what you get for scaring me!" Ariana said with a slightly bitter laugh. "Did it hurt? I made sure to only send enough to make you look back." The woman said with a giant grin. "Well, no." Ariana admitted with a pout as she jumped out of the woman's arms.

"Good, you scared me there for a second." The woman said as she tided up Ariana's appearance and adjusted her cloak. "Tillie I missed you!" Ariana shouted as she jumped and wrapped her arms around her neck. "Me too! But sweetheart we can't stay here. Need to keep moving so we can meet up with the others." Tillie replied as she removed Ariana's arms. "Other's? Who else is here?" Ariana asked.

Tillie looked back at Ariana and smiled. "Everyone." She answered then rushed forward, pulling Ariana along. "Everyone?" Ariana echoed. Tillie laughed as they ran. "That's right!" She said as they moved through the streets. Tillie was running like a wild boar in erratic directions. Ariana couldn't even keep track how many times the turned left or right or ran back but she was sure there was a reason for it. 

"Tillie here!" Roland called out as they spotted a carriage. "About time you found me!" Tillie called out as she pulled Ariana forward and scooped her up into a princess carry. "Tillie!" Ariana gasped. The door to the carriage opened and with a devil like grin Tillie jumped forward. Tillie landed with a giant thud into the carriage just as Roland whipped the reins and the carriage set off.

"That was a little rougher then I had expected." Tillie laughed as she tried to catch her breath. "What is going on?" Ariana asked in awe. "You moron!" Ariana heard as a huge weight landed on top of her. "Oh Darling, please wait until we get up." Tillie said with a strained voice. Ariana looked up and shouted in surprise as her hair stood on end. Holding her tightly was Edlyn, she was crying her heart out and refused to let Ariana go. 

Xander sighed and moved to help Ariana pry Edlyn off. "No you can't separate us anymore!" Edlyn cred out as she struggled against Xander's grip. Ariana got off of Tillie and then sat down while Tillie scrambled to get herself up. She then sat beside Ariana and wrapped a strong arm around her, keeping her in place. "Why did you leave me behind!" Ariana was impressed. Edlyn was able to look furious as she cried so pitifully "I needed too." Ariana replied softly. "I don't care!" Edlyn shouted. Xander shook his head and helped Edlyn sit down before she hurt herself. "Why are you here?" Ariana asked as she looked at Edlyn then turned to Tillie. "Edlyn came running to the house." Tillie replied. "But Cayden took me away." Ariana whispered.

"And I wouldn't stop looking for you! How can you drop such a huge bomb on me and think that I would listen! Like hell I would stay away!" Edlyn shouted as she glared at Ariana. "BECAUSE YOUR LIFE WILL BE SACRIFICED TO ME!" Ariana shouted right at Edlyn. Her fangs were bared, her eyes shone with a dangerous, aquamarine glow and her claws were dung into her thighs.

Edlyn swallowed back a sob but she refused to avert her gaze. Instead she stared down Ariana. "Ariana, you don't know if that's true." Tillie said softly as she removed her arm and started to pry Ariana's claws from her thighs. "So they know about the contents of that letter too." Ariana growled as she glanced at Tillie. "Why shouldn't we?" Tillie sighed. Ariana cursed under her breath and averted her gaze towards the curtain drawn window.

The carriage was silent. Ariana tried to peak out the window but Tillie stopped her hand. Ariana looked at Tillie and all Tillie could do was give her a pitiful smile. Ariana sighed while she stole a glance at Edlyn and Xander. "It wasn't made up, like I would be so mean... you would hate me, I would never want that. " Ariana started. "I know." Edlyn said in a low, sorrow filled voice.

"I got the info from the King of Darkness. Your life is supposed to be my safety net. If worse comes to worse the Goddess will lead the church to you and your life will be used to revive my body. I don't even know if your soul will be brought back, honestly it could very well be some sort of soul transfer and you would be back in your original body." Ariana said with a small sarcastic laugh.

Ariana then balled up her claws as she felt the sting of tears forming in her eyes. "You're not going to die because of me. I can't let you die... it's not right. I know Ingemar told me of the fail safe plan so I'm more motivated but that's really messed up. I can't believe she would do that, I mean, no I get it I really get it but it's still not right." Ariana said as crystal clear tears flowed downwards.

"I can't even hate her for doing it. She loves her husband so much... I would do everything I can for Cayden too." Ariana admitted. "I would too but for you or Xander." Edlyn said as she started to sniff along with Ariana. 

Ariana looked up and smiled. "I guess blood is thicker then water huh?" Ariana laughed. "So are you my aunt or my sister?" Edlyn giggled as she wiped her tears away. "I don't know." Ariana replied. The girls looked at each other and started to laugh. "I guess sister it is." Edlyn said brightly. Ariana opened her mouth to say something but then the carriage jerked. "Roland!" Tillie shouted. "Sorry my love but we ran into a little problem." Roland called back.

Tillie's eyes grew wide as she tried to move to the door Ariana grabbed her wrist. "Duko says we're surrounded."
