Chapter 431 - Adonis Summary

"But I couldn't do it. There were too many good memories... I just couldn't so instead I closed off my heart and accepted the engagement he gave me. I shut down, that woman tested me, pushed and realized I became a living doll. That man knew and didn't care, he just wanted his wife happy... Honesty, I am the one who is dirty, I am the one who turned into a monster with no soul or heart and just let things happen." Cayden said in a shaky voice.

"Cayden..." Ariana called out as she brought up her own hand and brushed back his tears. "How did you find out I was part of the Rebels?" Cayden asked. "I had a hunch and Talisha hinted at it." Ariana said but Cayden furrowed his brows. "That can't be just the reason for you to suspect me and attack me like this?" Cayden said as he grabbed Ariana's hand and kissed it.

Adonis flashed a rainbow colour and looked at the Lumas. He smiled as he stretched out a tentacle and grabbed the Lumas. 'Don't mind us we are gonna have a strategy talk outside.' He said as he pulled the Lumas along. Cayden flushed a deep red as he froze in place. Ariana looked at Cayden quizzically. "Adonis is such a funny guy! Did you know that he used to be a shut in that synthesized poisons for the yakuza?" Cayden laughed awkwardly as he looked at Ariana.

"No I had no idea. Yup he even fell in love with the leader's daughter and tried to win her heart but it was all a trap. They used him and his abilities to get rid of their enemies and in the end the daughter married the second in command."

"He was so heart broken that he poisoned their food and drinks. Everyone died accept the bride, he made sure she was safe by disguising himself as a waiter. She didn't even notice him.... Someone so close you, disguised as someone else... it's sad... but, ya, so Adonis! So he made sure she lived, then he turned her over to another group in a different region. Apparently she had a bounty on her head, she seduced so many men and thought she could get away with it because of her father's power. It was really sad." Cayden said as he started to calm down.

"So what happened to him afterwards?" Ariana asked. "He was recruited into that gang and rose through the ranks and became the new head in a short amount of time. While the bride suffered as a disfigured woman, used for play." Cayden replied. "Disfigured?" Ariana asked.

"Yes, Adonis had to take a test to become the leader's right hand man. He had to come up with a new way of torture and he came up with a very special chemical compound. They told him he had to test it on the bride so that he could prove his ambition. He did it without a second thought, he grabbed the bride and forced the drug down her throat."

"In a matter of seconds the bride's true beauty surfaced and the gang was over the moon. It was like finding a new form of truth serum but it was more scary for their women than anyone else because it was permanent. The bride was so ugly that all she wished for was death while Adonis lived his life with power and women at his disposal." Cayden said in a sad tone.

"So how did he die?" Ariana asked. "The bride, she didn't want to die alone. She stowed away in his private plane and then she took it over. She then crashed it into the sea, killing everyone." Cayden replied. "So what did he wish from the Goddess?" Ariana asked causing Cayden to go silent. Cayden shook his head no and looked at Ariana pitifully. "Ask him if you're curious." Cayden replied.

"Was it that bad?" Ariana asked. "No, it's just I don't know what he was thinking and I didn't want to ask him." Cayden replied. Then there was an awkward silence. Ariana couldn't take the silence anymore and wrapped her arms around Cayden's body. "I don't want you to get closer to me." Ariana whispered. "So you tried to pick a fight with me?" Cayden asked. "Mmh." Ariana said as she buried fer face into his chest.

Cayden rolled onto his back and brought Ariana with him. He held her tightly as he kissed the top of her head. "You can't just push us away... Talisha, Halina, Edlyn, the Dabneys or me... We all want to be with you and know the risk. Can't you just accept it and take us with you? Edlyn doesn't want to be separated from you at all." Cayden said gently. "No. There is a war coming and I need to get my act together before it claims many lives." Ariana said as she brought her gaze up.

Cayden looked down and smiled. "You have no idea how we all feel about you?" Cayden laughed. Ariana brought up her whole face and looked at Cayden. "I can't. I need to get stronger before this war starts and the only way I can is if I leave." Ariana said. Cayden rolled Ariana sideways and kissed her. Ariana's eyes grew wide from the surprise but the warmth that spread through out her body caused her to close her eyes and enjoy the sensation.

Cayden tickled her lips with the tip of his tongue and Ariana couldn't help but slightly part them. With a heavy m.o.a.n Cayden slipped his tongue into her mouth and tasted her thoroughly. The moment Ariana let out a m.o.a.n Cayden pulled back. He was breathing heavily while Ariana looked dazed, her cheeks were pink and her lips were slightly swollen.

"You have no idea how far I will go to be with you." Cayden whispered as his hand gently slid down her body and slipped under her shirt. Ariana gasped as a rush of heat bolted through her body. "I'll follow you to the ends of the Earth, into the fiery pits of hell and back again." Cayden said as he gently stroked her back. Ariana slightly arched and could barely keep her focus.

"I've done it before and I will keep doing it until you can't be without me." Cayden whispered before he placed a line of gentle kisses on the side of her neck.
