Chapter 101 - To All A Familiar Part 1

The male student sheepishly looked at his hands and was at a loss. Ariana sat down with a triumphant smile and the tortoise turned into light again. He materialized beside his master and stood on his hind legs, looked down at Ariana then Edlyn. He slightly blushed as his master's face turned beat red.

"Alright now that everything has been settled, let us continue. 125 299F"

Ariana felt so drained from watching so many students go up to the stage and perform the Summoning Ceremony. Everyone had to do the same thing over and over again and no one else's familiar did a display of power or enchanting performance. So the Summoning Ceremony was very redundant and bland. Talisha and Halina had already been summoned with the others earlier. Halina was stroking her purple-pink swan while Talisha poked the snout of her tan, baby boar. "125 21A" The Headmaster shouted with a slightly less bored expression. "125 21A" Edlyn shot up like a bullet from her seat. Ariana readjusted her position.

She watched as Edlyn nervously walked up to the stage and took her position. The Headmaster watched as she grabbed the dagger and cut her index finger. The blood dripped into the fountain and the water turned bloody. "If you say it with your heart you should get the same results as everyone else." The Headmaster said with a gentle smile. Edlyn nodded her head and looked at the scroll. In a clear and loud voice she enunciated every word of the incantation. The Headmaster was shocked, he looked at the board members and they all just shrugged, not hinting that they knew any different. The ritual proceeded without a hitch and the orb started to expand. Ariana watched closely, gripping her arm rests as the orb started to bubble. Suddenly a beam of light shot upwards. The building started to shake violently.

The magic blue circle above was completely destroyed and the students started to panic. "Outside! Everyone outside!" The Headmaster shouted. Ariana leapt up and tried to run on to the stage but Xander was quicker then she was and caught Edlyn within his embrace. "We need to leave." He shouted as he picked up Edlyn. Ariana moved her sights to Mrs. Dabney and saw that Mr. Dabney quickly moved to her aid. "Come on." She shouted and evacuated with the others. Rain and Breeze quickly started a headcount and each gave a sigh of relief. Rain moved to report to the Headmaster when suddenly someone screamed at the top of their lungs. A single hand pointed towards the sky and everyone looked up.

More panicked screams echoed into the air and there was nowhere to run. The storm was moving in too quickly. A downpour descended on them. "Headmaster the barrier is down!" A male teacher yelled as he ran towards them. "What?!" The Headmaster yelled back. "Rain, go with Flanagan and make sure that the barrier is up and running again!" A streaks of lighting lit up the sky and they heard a blood curdling roar. Some teachers rushed out and started to collect the students and moved them into the forest near by but Edlyn was frozen in place. She stared up at the sky while Ariana stepped beside her. Xander tried to get the girls to move but Ariana shook her head. "He won't hurt Edlyn." Ariana said and Xander gritted his teeth. He walked to the other side of Edlyn and waited.

Another roar echoed through the air and the Headmaster watched the three as gust of wind surrounded them. A loud thud and heavy breathing could be heard. Standing before them was a massive snake like creature with dark green, aqua, silver and gold scales, scattered all over his body. It had a sea blue mane that started at the top of his head and ran down his back to his long tail. He had talon like claws, strong hind legs and two tier layers of gold and silver feathers which framed the left and right side of his face.

He milky white, glass like eyes with red slits for pupils which he focused to stare down at Edlyn. His snout extended outwards as was moving slowly towards Edlyn's nose. He retracted all four of his giant silver wings. "Edlyn... you need to name him." Ariana whispered into Edlyn's ear. Edlyn nodded her head as she raised her hand slowly. The rain continued to pour relentlessly. Edlyn placed her hand on his dog like snout and shuddered. They both felt a connection, he closed his eyes and the rain started to slow down to a drizzle. "Thor." She said with a shaky breath. "I name you Thor!" She shouted more fiercely.

The Thunderbird shot open his eyes, his red pupils dilated. His body started to glow a bright yellow before it turned into a stream. It swirled around as the clouds started to disperse, the rain stopped completely and a beautiful double rainbow appeared across the sky. A new barrier started to rebuild upwards and met in the middle. The stream moved into Edlyn's arms and turned into an orb. The light started to glow brighter and brighter before it turned into an array of lights.

A tiny Thunderbird yawned as it snuggled in Edlyn's arms. "Thor?" Edlyn called out and the Thunderbird turned its cute little head to meet her eyes. His eyes were big and innocent looking while his feathers were just a fraction of its original size. 'Mama?' He said as his tail wagged. Ariana started to giggle when she saw Edlyn's dumbstruck face. "You are so sweet!" She shouted as she cuddled his tiny face. 'Not my mama. Who are you?' Ariana squealed. "I'm your auntie! That guy over there is your daddy!" She said as she pointed to Xander.

"Ariana what are you doing?!" Edlyn shouted as she turned beat red. "Don't tell Thor lies!" Ariana kissed Thor's cheek. "When did I lie?" She said with a cheeky smile. 'Mama doesn't want daddy?' Thor asked as his eyes started to water. "Thor?! He's not your... I mean love is.... Mommy's and daddy's... I mean... no! We can... Ahhhhh! Ariana why?!" She rambled along as she turned a brighter shade of red. Steam started to rise up from her head. "Congratulations 125 21A, it looks like you have a wonderful familiar." The Headmaster said as he walked forward.
