Thin mist containing evil aura crept in the dark sky. The twinkling of the stars was hidden behind it as it moved at the speed of n.a.k.e.d eyes could see clearly. The sensation was really different with when I was around ghosts.

The only thing that resembled this sensation was when I met the vengeful spirit of a mother in my ex' house. The resentment and hatred were strong, but this aura was even stronger.

Just where did this strong evil spirit come from?

"Let's clean this up." Sanji tilted his head before he charged towards the aura.

Following his steps, I rushed towards the aura on my side while spinning the chains in my hands.

Throwing the chain towards the evil aura, I whispered under my breath, "Go and destroy them all."

The chain glowed brighter as it rushed towards the evil aura. It even emitted red flame, almost looked like lava from Death Volcano as it burned its way into the centre of the aura. Eerie cries was echoing in the night sky and something fell down from the sky.

The thin mist gradually disappeared after this thing fell down. I noticed it was being chained up by my fiery chain, being burned down by the fire, yet it was still struggling against my chain. It was wriggling like a caterpillar , totally disgusting and weird.

What was this thing actually?

However, this was not the only one. Seconds later, another down fell down with the same condition.

I totally meant it when I ordered my chain to destroy everything. I had even let out sufficient amount of power, which I thought, enough to eradicate this evil aura. But, what was it doing? Why didn't it kill them?

There was no way my chain would oppose to my order, which could only mean one thing.

It couldn't kill them.

With that in mind, I exerted more force and the fire in the chain burned even ferociously. The ghostly cries turned even louder and the wriggling was going even wilder.

It was strange. There was nothing that the fire from Death Volcano couldn't burn.

Yet, I watched another one fell down, still being chained by my fiery chain.

Then, another one.

And another one.

I turned to see the condition on Sanji's side. He looked fine, but I noticed the puzzle in his eyes.

He must be feeling lost as to how to defeat them. His power was a bit different with mine, but somehow he found a way to use it in different situation he was in.

I noticed he found out about the existence of these things as well. He was even trapping three of them in a... cage? What's with that almost invisible silvery cage? What was that? I never knew he had that kind of ability within him.

The mist gradually disappeared but the number of shadows we caught was shocking! I stopped counting when I reached the number of 20! And there were still lots of them on the ground!

Another shrill cry approached me fast. It happened to get away from the chain and aimed me who was still feeling lost with the bizarre turn of event.

Just feeling lost, but still full alert.

I noticed it and reached out my hand to grab it. Surprisingly, it dodged and made a sharp turn to deliver another blow for me. It was quite fast, I must admit, but I was still faster.

Slap!

The sound of my palm met the shadow rang through the open space and the shadow flew as the result of my slap. Chasing after it, I reached out again and grabbed it tightly.

"Putra, burn it!" I called out to the kid who was watching the whole ordeal from my consciousness.

My command got heard and soon my hand was enveloped in fire fresh from the Death Volcano.

I originally thought that the others couldn't die because the amount of fire in the chain was not enough. However, now that I was the one who asked Putra to burn it, I doubted that it would not work well.

However, to my surprise, the fire didn't do much damage to it.

Scratch that! It got no damage at all!

What was this thing exactly?

"No good..." I heard Putra whispered in frustration.

"What? What is it? Putra, what is this thing?" I asked him. Even without looking at him, I knew that he had that terrified look on his face. From his reactin, I knew that he must have known something.

"Why is that thing here?" He whispered in disbelief.

"Do you know what it is?"

"Of course. Not even my fire can kill it. I may be called Death Volcano, but there is a volcano deep in the stomach of a sea has the aura that was so strong because it swallowed the souls and bodies of lots of sinners." Putra exclaimed in irritation.

"Then, how do I get rid of it? What's the use of you having such an overbearing name, then?" I didn't mean to ridicule him, but whomever gave him that name, he must be a bit sick in his head.

"Do you think I want it? If only that stupid woman didn't take away my newly refine and strongest core, I can still hold my head high while being true to my name, Putra Semesta of Death Volcano!" He snapped.

It was my first time seeing him snapped like that. It seemed that this topic was a taboo one for him that made him snapped like it.

"I am Putra Semesta of The Death Volcano! But, I can't even hurt this wicked thing!" Putra kicked around in my consciousness.

"Wait! Did you say someone take your strongest core?" I arched my eyebrows as I tossed the shadow in my hand towards my chain. Dusting my hand calmly, I planned to return the fire, but another shadow forced it's way to me.

I welcomed him, of course!

With another slap.

"Yes." Putra said grumpily.

"Who is it?"

"My Guardian's sworn sister." His voice was weak.

Sworn sister? Who was it?

"Can't you find her and take it back?"

"It's no use. I saw her refine it with her power and turned it into her own weapon. I can't use it even if I have it with me now. The characteristic of the core has changed into something even more terrifying than original core. Even if she was annoying, I must admit she was pretty good. The fire got even stronger and purer in her hands." Putra's voice grew softer and I even noticed a hint of admiration in his voice.

He must be fooled by that woman, but in the end, he, as a non-human existence, could only be in awe seeing someone stronger than him appeared in front of him. A creature like him, born from the power contained in Death Volcano, didn't know the feeling of jealousy and greed.

If someone was stronger than him, then he would only feel reverance towards that person. There would be no jealousy or greed. However, he was capable of feeling fear and anger. He was also capable of feeling happy and joyful.

Perhaps, it was not because he was born not to have those two destructive desire, but the ones who had been taking care of him all those years didn't show him that kind of emotion whenever they were around him.

Which made me realized that the previous Guardians were such good people!

I didn't teach Putra anything ridiculous, did I? I didn't want to taint their reputation, after all.

"Hey, what should we do with them?" Sanji's shout snapped me back from my irrelevant thought.

I scratched my not-itchy head as my eyes scanned my surrounding. There was almost no ground could be seen as far as I could see. It was covered by the wriggling shadows chained by my chain. In Sanji's side, I saw his invisible silvery cage trapped many shadows inside. The faint light came from the light of the moon being reflected on the cage made it looked beautiful yet mysterious.

How did he do that?

"I can't burn it." I admitted to him.

Sanji frowned. But before he could say anything, a flame bearer appeared next to me silently.

"I didn't summon you." I said to him.

"Master is summoning me." He said with his expressionless face.

I arched my eyebrows when I heard his answer. Jane called him?

My eyes caught sight of the flame in his hand. Should I try it? What if it couldn't kill them?
