(Tom's PoV)

RUN! RUN, TOM! RUN!

That's what I told myself as I moved my feet fast to avoid the slash of the Black Creese tailing behind me. I could just use my chain to deflect it and save my energy, but I lost my mind when the man whom my girlfriend called as her father appeared and put on menacing look on his face.

I had never thought that it would be the way I met with my father-in-law!

He was so protective and possessive of her own daughter that I couldn't really think of anything other than staying alive. He looked like he was prepared to kill anyone who would have an inappropriate thought about his daughter.

Well, if I were him, I would act the same. With a daughter as sensible and adorable as Jane, I wouldn't want mere boy to be with her.

Which was why I had no qualms over how he treated me. It was kind of frustrating about how my first image in front of him was ruined just like that and somehow I doubted it would be any different if we were in a different situation.

Even so, how long should I run from the creese? ToT

Sanji wasn't in any better situation than me, though. The creese somehow could attack us both at the same time even when we went separated ways. Again, it was easy for us to deflect the creese, but somehow we didn't do it.

I guessed it was part of guilty conscience because we did taint his only daughter. However, I had never thought of leaving her alone. I didn't know about how Sanji felt but I knew exactly what I felt.

I loved her, there was no doubt about it. I wanted to stay with her forever, yes, absolutely.

I wanted her and I still do until now.

"Dad, Tom is my senior. I can assure you that he is more than capable of protecting me. You can rest assured. Also, isn't Sanji my fiance? You even talked about it to him and his father before you sent me to college. He is improving himself and I can assure you that he is more capable than you know. They have been taking care of me these months when I was at my lowest. Please, don't do this!" Her clear voice pleaded for our safety rang among the trees.

"Baby, you should know that I have no problems that you have two or three boyfriends as long as they can take care of you. Rules in our society indeed only let woman has one husband, but if you find more than one man is loving you unconditionally, you can always move to the Satu Village and live there. I know both of them are equally important to you, but the thought of two men take you from me when I'm not even done spoiling and pampering you makes me mad. I couldn't help it! I won't kill them, but I need to make sure they know that I treasure you so much that I don't mind hurting them if they hurt you one day." I heard her father said that righteously.

My jaw dropped as I heard his reply to his daughter. He was so cool that I wished he could be my father-in-law soon. His reasoning was true but somehow he hit the nerve so bad that I wished I could just show him that I could easily stop him.

"Just keep running! Don't let the creese touch you! It can insta-kill you!" I heard Jane shout helplessly.

"Yeah, run, kids! I'm being lenient to you since you have been taking care of her in my place. But, it doesn't mean I will let you off easily. Just run few more laps and stay alive. Jane puts so much hope in you two, with one of you die will mean less flies around my daughter but more trouble for me, so do your best." My future father-in-law said grumpily.

He looked unhappy, but since his daughter had claimed us, I bet he wouldn't dare to make her sad.

But, how could he say that righteously?

"Thank you for being merciful, Uncle Farid!" I heard Sanji shouted.

"Thank you for being merciful, Future Father-in-law!" I shouted loud before I dodged the creese. That was close!

"WHAT DID YOU CALL ME, LASS?" A roar was heard and I knew I hit a nerve there.

I chuckled as I heard my future father-in-law went even madder at me. Even if he was angry, I would make sure he wouldn't forget about me, his future son-in-law. Calling him my future father-in-law was really a good move.

I could sense the creese was moving even faster, so I increased my own speed and agility in dodging it. The sound of my future father-in-law incessant ranting about how a man should treat his daughter was heard as my background sound of being chased by the creese. He sounded like he was nagging, but in actuality, he was describing his ideal son-in-law.

Heh, I would make sure I would live up to your expectation, future father-in-law.

"Nice move back then." Sanji appeared next to me as we escaped from the creese together. He was grinning at me. "You even dare to call him that. Good work!"

"No reason for me not to do that." I dodged another slash from the creese while grinning.

"Jane's father has always been an oddball. He is quite mysterious back then, but yeah... you can see that with your own eyes." Sanji tilted his body a bit to avoid the creese this time.

"Well, he is quite a good father in law." I nodded, agreeing with my own statement.

"Pfft, he is very likeable, indeed. That's why I also want him to be my father in law." Sanji said with a nostalgic expression on his face.

It seemed that he had indeed considered that possibility since long ago. His feeling for Jane really had deeply rooted inside his heart. It couldn't be ignored that easily. My feeling towards Jane was deep, too and I was sure it could be compared to Sanji's feeling.

Anyway, there was no way I would lose to him in terms of how big and how deep our affection towards Jane was.

I was about to continue our conversation when I felt a strong evil aura was heading towards our direction. It also came in a mass that it was hard to ignore it.

What was it?

Turning my body to face towards the source of evil, my eyes squinted in alert. The creese probably sensed it, too as it flew towards its master, leaving Sanji and me to face the evil force in the frontline.

"It seems like we have an important guest." Sanji smirked.

"Well, let's do a big welcome party for our guest." A smirk crept on my face as my chain appeared around my wrist.
