Chapter 234 - The Rage of A Father (1)

(Jane's PoV)

"You're here." My eyes met with a pair of familiar and warm eyes, but the owner was someone I just met.

She wasn't entirely a stranger since I could sense some familiarity in her, but I wasn't sure if it was her or not.

Could it be...

"My Queen?" I called out hesitantly. The one in front of me didn't look like the Queen of South Sea at all, instead she looked more... human.

The woman smiled and waved towards a maid that I recognized as one of the four that had come with us here. Seeing the obedience the maid showed when she waved her hand, I was sure she was the Queen, indeed.

As expected of the Queen, even when she changed her appearance, she couldn't erase her elegance completely. On the other hands, she could mask her identity as the resident of astral world and appeared totally... human.

What a frightening skill of disguise!

"Sit down, child." She pointed at the chair near her.

Why did it sound so suspicious? Even so, I did sit down slowly. My body went into alert mode, just in case something were to happen so I could bolt out as soon as possible.

"Based on what your father told me, you're almost nineteen years old now?" She stared at me with a gentle gaze, but I sensed a hidden agenda behind her gaze.

"Yes?" I answered, but it ended up like a question since I was not entirely sure how my age related to anything she was about to say.

"I'm not really sure with how the world outside works for now, but considering your age, it must be your best time to bloom beautifully."

Bloom? Like flower? Her word of choice somehow made me feeling terrified with the possibility this conversation would end up.

"Child, I've talked to your father, but we are just old people. Whatever we talked about, we need your consent to it." She started, looking serious this time.

See? I knew it! They must have talked something about me behind my back and probably reached to a decision, and this whole conversation saying that 'they needed my consent' was just a big fat lie!

"We were wondering whether you already have someone you fancy out there--"

"Yes!" I answered quickly, even before I processed the whole sentence completely. "I-I do have someone I fancy out there."

I didn't stutter, right? It wouldn't be convincing if I stuttered.

The Queen arched her eyebrows. Her expression didn't show any displeasure from my disrespectful attitude of cutting off her words when she had not finished speaking.

"Sweetie, you will never know how long a relationship can last." She smiled.

I was speechless. From the way she said it, I was one hundred percent sure that they talked about getting me engaged to someone related to the Queen. I knew it!

"My Queen, you underestimate people's feeling." I smiled at her.

At this moment, I remembered what had been nagging in my mind. I left those two on the shore and I had no idea how long I had left them there!

Did they set a camp there? I doubted that since the local policemen would definitely drive them away. They might have gone to find an inn nearby to keep an eye to the sea. If the waves were getting extreme, they would know for sure that there was something wrong and I might need their help.

We had talked about that before I went down to the sea. Since I had returned on the land, I should be able to call them, but I really forgot about them!

"Siji." I called out and as usual, he appeared silently. "Can you bring Sanji here? I can summon Tom here but Sanji is a different case."

"Yes, Milady." Siji nodded with a slight bow towards me. After that, he left.

"Is that the Seventh Advisor?" The Queen of South Sea's eyes sparkled with a new vigor as she looked at me.

She looked like a fan girl meeting her idol. Or, did I see it wrong?

"Yes." I nodded, a bit speechless seeing the elegant and graceful Queen of South Sea was fangirling over a man.

"I've never seen him this close despite how old I have been exist in this world. As expected of the most intelligent Advisor, he really looks up to his name."

She was right. Siji indeed looked smart and meticulous. He was always neat and he was handsome as well. What the Queen said was not wrong at all. If girls nowadays saw him, they would surely fall head over heels to him. He would probably have a bunch of brainless fans by now.

"Are you perhaps idolizing him?" I asked carefully.

"Many of us idolize him. It's just... the chance to meet see him this close is close to none. So, most of us cannot see him directly and can only admire him from afar. His brilliant demeanor is something hard to find even in our dimension." The Queen admitted, but she had returned to her usual expression; warm and composed with a hint of enthusiastic in her eyes.

What a superb control of one's self!

"Seeing that you have lots of potential to be a capable Master, I think I made the right decision to give my son to you."

The Queen's last words had me stiffened and bewildered to the point that I forgot what we were talking about.

What did she mean by giving his son to me? I wasn't a babysitter! I was still young! Why would I take care of other people's son?

Even if the word she used wasn't exactly the same with I had in mind, I could guess the meaning behind it.

She wanted me to marry his son? Which son? The one that I had just saved? Or did she have other sons that I wasn't aware of?

"Excuse me, My Queen, I couldn't catch what you said just now. Could you, please, repeat it slowly?"

"I said, you should get married to my son. Even though he met a mishap this time, I can assure you that he is much more capable than he looks like." The Queen dropped the bomb casually.

If it was heard by me only, I wouldn't think about it. Unfortunately, right before I finished asking the Queen to repeat her words, I didn't notice three familiar figures arrived not far from me.

"Sorry to interrupt, My Queen, but your words have greatly offended us."

At the sound of familiar voice, I turned my back and looked at them with wide eyes. Their expression had darkened to the point I could compare their faces with the soot. Their eyes shot a warning glare at the Queen, how brave!

As they got closer to me, they both bowed down a bit and stood behind my back with a really close gap between us.

Too close to be bodyguards!

I switched my sight towards the calculating Queen in front of me and saw that she was observing these men behind me with a calm expression.

"Which one of you is her boyfriend?" She asked suddenly.

"We are her boyfriends." Tom replied in a fake polite tone.

His answer greatly surprised the Queen as she had that rare startled expression in her face.

Ah, it would be troublesome, I sighed.

"My Queen, what they said is true. I don't wish for us to act awkwardly in the future because of this misunderstanding, and you should know that your son is a great man. But, I already have two men beside me, what else do I need?" I tried to reason with this warm woman.

"I appreciate your good will, but I really can't." I bowed down. "Now, please excuse us." I stood up and signalled the two of them to follow me.

Again, I wasn't in a good luck. My father appeared out of nowhere with his face as black as the bottom of the pot. He must have heard

"Which one of you is her boyfriend?" He asked glomily while his hand was holding onto the Black Creese. It was the same question as the one the Queen was asking, however the pressure was clearly different.

Oh, crap.
