Chapter 233 - My Daughter, My Pride

(Jane's PoV)

"That's umm..." I didn't mean to stutter, but lying to my father about anything related to my education was a bad choice to do. Nor that saying the truth was less troublesome as well.

"Lord Satya, how is it going?" The Queen appeared while asking hesitantly.

"It went well, My Queen." My father stood up and bowed down towards the elegant woman.

The atmosphere around her changed as her full of worry face now had a blooming smile on it. It was not a graceful smile like she showed towards unknown people. It was a smile pure of relief and happiness.

It was a mother's smile. She genuinely cared for him.

"But, it's thanks to my daughter that My Queen's son can be saved." My father continued. "Honestly, it was a hard fight, close to impossible. But, since you trust this case to me, I should do my best. Turned out I underestimated the situation. If my daughter wasn't here, I am sure he wouldn't make it."

My father glanced at me with eyes filled with pride. His eyes sparkled as if he was looking at his most treasured treasure. Pride and excitement were clear in his face.

The surprise in the Queen's eyes was something worth to see. Apparently, she was indeed underestimating me the whole time because of my age. Even though she knew I am the Master of White Army, she had never thought that I could be this powerful.

Well, it was a bit unbelieavable for me too, actually. It was just I had no time to think about it that way. Instead, I learned to control and to utilize it to the fullest.

I was kind of lucky that I could do that step by step under the guidance of the best advisor.

The Queen was stunned as she heard my father's explanation. I was quiet all the while they were talking. Just let a.d.u.l.ts do the talking since I was only a kid in their eyes, anyway.

"I don't know what she summoned, but whatever or whoever they are, they must be powerful since I can't see them."

Ah, right. I looked at the five flame bearers standing in the room. They were standing still with the blue flame still soared in the sky, burning the remaining dark aura which was left in the air around the house within their parameter.

The Queen could see them -of course, since they were from the same dimension, after all. She was a bit surprised to see the five of them there. But, my father couldn't.

"Flame bearer from White Army." She whispered. "You can control them already?" Her eyes filled with doubt and excitement.

"Um, can't I?" I shrugged my shoulders in hesitation. What did she mean by saying that?

The look in her eyes turned excited when she heard my answer. "Of course, you can. You're totally right. Only blue flame can counterattack the dark aura. I'm really lucky to have you here with us. You have my utmost gratittude, Master of White Army."

Her attitude changed as she bowed down to me.

My eyes went wide as I saw the gracious and majestic Queen of South Sea was bowing down to me. In a haste, I jumped and prevented her from bowing down.

"There's no need to be courteous, My Queen. I just helped my father finishing his task so that he can go back to my mother's side as soon as possible."

"Lord Satya is truly blessed with good luck to have you as his daughter." Queen of South Sea kept singing praise for my father but she didn't sound like a sweet talker.

From her eyes and expression, I knew that she meant what she said. It was an honest and genuine feeling came from her heart. Against this kind of person, I could only blush and smile awkwardly.

However, when I turned to look at my father, those feelings disappeared, replaced with dumbfounded expression.

Look at his smug face! Where was his humble self that would usually refuse that kind of compliment? Look at his puffed chest! There was so much pride in it!

He shamelessly accepted that compliment directly. Was he my real father?

"Indeed. I'm proud that she is my daughter. My only daughter, and my only pride and joy in life." He said while grinning happily.

I forced a laugh once before I found an excuse to go outside. I couldn't hear any of this anymore.

"I need to see the situation outside. My Queen, you need to nourish him back properly since the dark aura had corroded his body." I reminded the Queen of the most vital information.

After saying that, I escaped from the bizarre situation hastily. I stayed outside for several minutes to check on the environment, and only after I found there was no abnormalities happened outside and it was safe to get inside the house, I made my move.

After retracting the flame from the air and sending the flame bearers back, I started to do another big scale deep scanning and cleaning around the house to make sure that everything went well. I found some other things that belonged to the malicious force but it was not as dangerous as the dark and evil aura from Red Sea.

Queen, I don't even know why I voluntarily do it, and I don't demand for compensation, but at least help me distract my father from asking me about my study o(╥﹏╥)

He always said that I should always put my study first no matter what happened at home. My only responsibility was to finish my study and to provide me with money, food, and facilities was my mother and father's responsibility. There was no need to worry about anything else. Just focus on my study.

I took a deep breath while watching at the sky gradually turning dark. It seemed that there was something I forgot. What was it?

I tilted my head, thinking about what I could possibly forget.

Whatever I forgot, it must be something important. However, I couldn't figure it out.

What was it?

"Jane, do you still have something to do out there? If not, why don't you come inside?" My father came even before I could recall whatever it was nagging my mind.

"Oh, sure." I nodded and pushed the strange feeling to the back of my head.

"The Queen wants to ask you something."

"Hm? About what?" I asked, feeling confused with this sudden question coming out of blue.

My father shrugged, looking like he wanted to escape from whatever I was about to face.

I smelled a conspiracy. My father was acting suspiciously. He even avoided eye contact wiith me.

"Dad, you didn't sell me out to the Queen, did you?" Even though it was kind of riddiculous, I couldn't help but ask jokingly.

I was surprised when he didn't deny it nor agree to it. I had a bad feeling about the question the Queen was about to ask.

Could I just run away from this situation? My father was fine and the crisis had passed. I could leave him here, right? The Queen would definitely send him back and he would go to England to reunite with my mother all by himself.

I could escape, of course. But, I was not fast enough, sadly.
