Chapter 231 - The Agitated Heart (2)

(Jane's PoV)

I tried to ask my father about our destination, but my father seemed to be engrossed in fiddling with his black creese. I watched as the black creese let out different colors in every five seconds. It would also let out soft hum and vibrate slightly. It really didn't suit its mysterious and terrifying identity that it made me shiver.

Surprisingly, the Queen and her maids brought us to a house in the forest -which forest it was, I had no idea. It looked like a secluded village, deep in forest. However, it was not a Hidden Village. It was merely a secluded village, far from the bustling city. There were houses other than this house, but there was some space between each other. They all had fence surrounding their house with the average height of the fence around one point five meters. It made them look unapproachable.

What business did the Queen have here? She even personally came to visit, whoever inside this house must be someone important. However, I couldn't detect anyone inside the house. Weird!

Five steps before we reached the front door, the Queen stopped, followed by her maids. It made me and my father halted our steps as well with a confused look in my face. The Queen waved her hand and her maids nodded. The four of them disappeared, but seconds later I had the hunch about where they had gone.

One of them was floating on top of the house, one was standing on the left side, one on the right side, and if my guess was right, the last one was probably behind the house.

Anyone who knew would recognize that this was a simple array made for protection. I watched as the Queen waved her hands again, pouring her power into the array and a soft glow of green emitted from the house before I could finally notice some movements inside the house.

This was strange. I was sure I couldn't notice anything or anyone inside, but now I could sense it.

However, there was something off from the breath inside the house.

As the green glow disappeared, the bad feeling I got from the house got more intense. My body went into alert at once as my eyes scanned my surroundings.

The dark and evil aura thickened in a matter of seconds. It was like they were attracted by something inside the house. Something that could attract this much of evil aura must be something wicked.

How did the Queen related to the evil thing inside?

"Lord Satya, please..." The agitation in the Queen's face got even more obvious.

I watched as my father nodded and walked towards the door. In a haste, I jumped between him and the door, preventing him to move further.

"Dad, are you sure?" My eyes shot him a warning gaze, trying to stop him from going into the house.

"It's okay, Jane." My father patted my shoulder with assuring gaze. "He needs me."

I frowned. Since my father said so, even if I felt reluctant, I could only move aside and let him enter the house.

"My Queen, would you mind to tell me who is inside this house? And why do you need my father to go inside?" I could only turn to the only one who knew the problem.

The Queen of South Sea sighed even though worry was still painting her beautiful face.

"My son is inside." She said in a low tone.

Wait! Son?! I was sure my face showed the surprise I felt inside as I couldn't manage to control my expression.

Was it appropriate for me to ask about how she could have a 'human' son? I really wanted to know but I knew it was rude to ask.

"He was cursed by malicious and evil power from the King of Devil from Red Sea. The dark and evil aura you see is the result of his curse. If the curse can't be lifted, then slowly he will die of pain that will eat his body inside. I've tried to stop the flow of dark aura but it didn't help at all since the dark aura in him can still easily devour him slowly."

"I remember seeing the Black Creese did something to a similar case before. That's why I boldly took your father out of desperation. That was part of my fault."

A curse from Red Sea? How formidable was it that the Queen herself couldn't do anything against it?

A blood-curling scream was heard from the house. I was worried that the neighbors could hear it, but I guessed my worry was for nothing. The four maids had built a soundproof barrier outside the house when I was still processing the information from the Queen.

I watched as the Queen's hands clenched as she looked inside the house with trouble all over her face.

So, this was the cause of her agitation. No wonder she would lose her composure, it was her son's life and death matter, after all.

The terrifying scream continued for some time, and I noticed the flow of aura turned chaotic.

I frowned. It was not a good sign. Instead of getting better, I felt the aura was going berserk. Was it possible that it would attack whoever inside?

As I was pondering about it, a rush of even sinister aura approached the house. My eyes widened as I tried to block it. However, I was a step late.

A painful growl was heard from inside and I could feel the warmth left my body as I recognized the owner of the house.

I had no idea how I got inside but the next thing I knew, a creature almost similar to the shadow back then -but it was even nastier and stronger -was being clutched between my fingers. My eyes went cold as I stared at the creature shrieking in my hands, struggling to be free from my hand covered with my blue flame.

"Scram back to your Master!" I commanded it between my gritted teeth as my blue flame burned it even ferociously.

The shadow screamed as it went out the way it came in faster than when it came.

I turned to see my father clutching his chest with blood trickled slightly from the corner of his mouth. He was eyeing me with surprise, but I had no time to explain anything to him. The Black Creese was hovering above a man's body, trying to prevent the evil aura from attacking him.

It was hard to guess his age since his body was basically so thin that it was boney. He was frowning as weak m.o.a.ns came out from his mouth. It was painful to see him. Those evil aura turned into wicked things that consumed on his body and soul.

Pitiful.

Before I could check on him more, another rush of sinister energy came in a stronger force. I sighed. This Devil King of Red Sea wanted to test me? I smirked.

"Flame bearer." I softly called out and they all came in unison, not even a second late.

"Burn them all."
