Chapter 217 - The Only Female Advisor

(Jane's PoV)

It was one day before the meeting. It was early in the morning when someone adorned in flirtatious red silk robe appeared in my house –I mean, the place I was staying at. She was lucky I had been awake for some time that I was fully sober when I welcomed her arrival.

If I were sleepy, my first instinct was to attack any stranger inside my house, human or not.

When she appeared, the others were still sleeping. Tom and Sanji were still sleeping. They had been going through a lot since the last time they saw the Devil fought with me. Their state of helplessness seemed to boost their motivation to train like hell. I had no idea what kind of training they were having with Siji as their mentor, but they had been behaving oddly ever since.

Talking about Siji, he also had changed ever since that time. He became more attentive towards me and had been beside me more than before.

Ever since I woke up this morning, Siji had been by my side even though we were just at home. Therefore, when this flirtatious soul appeared, he had me greeted her from his back, shielding me from our guest.

"Hihihi… Number Seven, what are you doing hiding your Master like that?" The woman hid her laugh behind her hand with her eyes sparkled mischievously.

"Number Three, you're getting more and more…" Siji coldly scanned her from top to toe.

The way his eyes flashed with disdain made me chuckle slightly. As a man who was born in the ancient time, it was clear that he didn't like the concept of woman acting flirtatious in public. Seeing the familiar way this woman in front of me showed towards Siji and the way Siji called her with number made me realize that this woman was someone's advisor.

But, I was really curious about her Master. Who could be her Master?

The woman in red laughed teasingly as she floated towards him. Siji flinched but since I was still behind his back, he stood his ground. His hardened jaw was clear for me to see how much he loathed her.

I was supposed to help him, in this case. However, I really wanted to see his reaction since it was rare for him to show this kind of reaction.

My eyes followed the movement of the woman as her long and delicate finger traced a line from Siji's chin down to his chest provocatively.

Siji shuddered and leaned back to avoid her finger touching him. His expression was…priceless.

I burst out laughing when I saw his face darkened to the point it could drip ink.

"Tsk tsk tsk, Number Seven, if you're still this aloof, how can you find yourself a girlfriend?" The woman seemed to be satisfied with his reaction.

She stepped back as she shook her head in disapproval. "Number Seven, you died as a lonely man. You had no woman beside you and you were still young. Now you are granted to have a second life and you still want to spend your life as a single? How pathetic you are!"

Her beautiful face showed a pity expression. I honestly thought this woman came without any malicious intention, but other than being a bit trauma from the Devil's attack, I really had no idea why Siji would hide me behind his back when he saw this woman.

"Don't come out! I don't want her lewd and stupid trait to affect you in any way!" Siji growled without breaking eye contact with the woman called Number Three.

There was my answer.

I didn't know whether I should laugh or cry hearing his reason. Siji, you said she was stupid, but how could stupid person become an Advisor?

"Don't listen to him. An old v.i.r.g.i.n like him has no clue how a woman should treat herself." The woman tilted her body to the side as she smiled warmly at me.

There. She was like an older sister figure, only she looked like she came from a brothel. I should not have said that out loud just in case I made her angry. Hahaha.

"You mean a woman should be acting indecent like you?" Siji smirked in disgust.

I watched as the woman smiled, flirtatiously yet confidently. "A man like you won't understand what a woman need." She flicked her long hair as she swayed towards me with her big grin plastered on her beautiful face.

She pushed Siji lightly with her delicate fingers. It was just a bit of push, but because of his disdain towards the woman, he jumped. It created a perfect chance for Number Three to approach me.

Sensing that she didn't have any malicious intent towards me, I let her come closer. The woman was pretty tall, with slim body; a perfect body for a seductress. Not to mention she knew exactly how to use her charm to her advantage.

I admired her, to be honest.

"Master of First Army. Ah, I don't like saying numbers." She shook her head with a frown on her face. Then, she looked at me again and started with a smile. "Master of White Army, let me introduce myself. My name is San. I'm the Advisor of Merapi Army. I came to deliver the message regarding the place of the meeting tomorrow." She bowed down gracefully as her red silk robe looked as if it was caught on fire, but when the fire disappeared, her clothes had changed into one that similar to what Siji was wearing.

I guessed it was their uniform as Advisor. Even her long swaying hair had been tied up in a neat pony tail. Gold earpieces in shape of leaves were adorned on each of her ears, pointed up to the sky. She looked exceptionally more beautiful with all the gold on her, I must admit that.

"Thank you for taking all the trouble to come here and deliver the news." I bowed down to her.

I smiled as I saw her giving me soft and warm smile. "Here is the location of the meeting and the time of the meeting." She pulled out a scroll made of the finest silk and handed it to me politely.

I took it and opened it right in front of her. Siji was standing beside me, looking at San warily. After reading the neat handwriting inside, I smiled.

"Okay. I got it." I nodded at her.

San bowed down again and disappeared after throwing a flirtatious glance towards Siji. I laughed when Siji glared at her in response.

"Do you like her?" I asked him as I sat down on the couch nearby.

"Like hell I would!" Siji reacted strongly.

"I don't know if you've heard about this saying, but considering that you have existed for thousands of years, I guess you have. 'There is only a thin layer of wall separating love and hate'. You love someone too much, it will turn into hate at some point. You hate someone too much, it will turn into love later. Don't overdo it unless you want it to turn against you later." I advised him calmly.

Siji took a deep breath –as if he really needed oxygen. "I don't know why you assume so, but just so you know, I don't love her, but I don't hate her either. She is an exceptional one as the only female Advisor. She managed to compete with the other men and snatched the name 'San' for the Merapi Army. Well her name wasn't San back then, but she changed it years before." Siji laughed.

"Really? What was her name then?" I looked at him curiously.

"Tilu, still it means 'three'." Siji grinned.

"Well, San sounds better than Tilu, though."

"Indeed. She said she overheard it from some small eyes human merchant." Siji shrugged.

"It's either Chinese or Japanese, then." I nodded my head. Indeed, San was much better than Tilu, but Tilu was more unique than San, I thought.

Since she wanted it, just let her be. Siji's name was pretty good, though. There was no need for him to change his name…. or was he?

I peered at his face with that question filled my mind. "Tell me, do you want to change your name, too?"

"Why should I?" Siji looked at me in confusion.

"Just asking. If you don't, then it's good." I shook my head. "Come, let's see the message once again."

I opened the silk scroll once again and read the word written in it. The place written in it was a famous place, there was no way I couldn't find the place. The meeting time was at five in the afternoon. I inserted a bit of my spiritual power and the content inside changed.

Smaller letters appeared and formed a row of sentence.

'All armies should gather at the outer side of temple. Password: Casanova.'

Who decided the password? Why Casanova, though?

"It must be that man." Siji face-palmed himself as he read the content hidden in the scroll.

I looked at his expression in confusion. This one must be in good relationship with him, I thought.

"Your friend?" I asked curiously.

Siji chuckled and let out helpless smile. "I don't really have any friends since I was known to have bad luck star around me."

Bad luck star? What was that? Why hadn't I heard about it before?

"Was it also the cause for losing control that day?" I peered into his eyes, refused to let even just a slight change of light in it went unnoticed.

And yes, his eyes flickered slightly but he didn't say anything. He probably didn't know where to start talking. Or he didn't want to talk about it. It might be too agonizing for him to talk about it.

I wonder what he had been through to be like this. At this moment, I realized that I knew nothing about Siji.

"Siji, do you trust me?" I asked him softly.

He was bewildered hearing my question. I turned my body to face him. My hands reached for his hands, ignoring his flinching as my hands touched his. As I had been training harder and more serious, this kind of thing was easy for me. But, it was my first time taking the lead to hold his hands with a serious look on my face.

"W-what are you planning to do, Milady?" He asked. I could sense his uneasiness, but I ignored it.

I smiled. "I'm helping you out." I said softly.

"Helping me with what?" He asked, dumbfounded.
