Chapter 13 - Extend Her Life

Name:My Ghostly Romance Author:Poisonlily
When Yang Mi saw him, her eyes glared daggers in his way.

She knew he was the one who got her into this situation and wanted nothing but to make him pay for it!

Her already outstretched hand shifted to point an accusing finger at him. Her desire to attack him was soon flushed to the drain when the system rang again.

[Alert! The host only has 2 minutes and 35 seconds remaining to live!]

Why me?!

[You must complete the mission immediately before the time runs out.]

What mission? What was she supposed to do?

Yang Mi turned pale. She didn't want to die and end up living in Hell! That place was not somewhere she would willingly visit even if she could get a ticket there to take a tour.

Distressed at her situation, Yang Mi struggled to breathe and a bead of sweat dripped down her supple cheeks. All her senses and other thoughts were banished away from her as she worried about her impending death.

She didn't want to die!

Yang Mi never felt fear in her life. Until now, she's been quite arrogant and proud of herself. Her spiritual power was vast that any weak ghosts who tried to go against her would be sent packing and cry for mercy.

Now, she was the one who wanted to be saved!

She wanted to live but this damn system was making the decisions for her!

Shifting on the bed, Yang Mi forced to lift herself so she could stand on the floor and look for a method to survive.

However, her body was still too weak to move. And especially her legs were too numb that when her feet touched the floor and when she put strength in it, her legs couldn't stop itself from buckling.

And just as she was about to fall to the ground, a warm arm wrapped around her waist.

When Kaisar entered and saw her glaring at him, he was confused why was she glaring at him like that.

If she was blaming him for what happened to her, Kaisar also had no idea about it since he didn't intentionally hurt her.

The bullet that got to her chest was the random shot that was released when he was struggling with Chen Gao and didn't even know that she got hit by it until she was standing there bleeding.

However, when she moved and almost fell to the ground, his heart couldn't help but take a leap and unknowingly, his body moved quickly to catch her.

"Are you alright?" After a full ten seconds, Kaisar finally asked. He was still holding her, keeping her from falling to the ground.

However, Yang Mi couldn't hear him as her head was filled with chiming noises.

[Congratulations! You have passed the system's initiation.]

[You have received 5,000 points for completing the task.]

[Do you want to use your points to extend your life?]

Yang Mi wanted to hesitate first. She didn't know how this system works but if she only has two minutes left to live, she had no other choice but to go along with the system.

So, she chose to extend her life.

"Yes." She answered.

Then, she heard the electronic voice speaking again.

[The host chose to extend her life. 5,000 points will be deducted from her account and 72 hours will be added to her remaining time.]

[Remaining Life: 72 hours and 71 seconds.]

Only 72 hours?

Yang Mi's face darkened. Three days was too little time for her to live. She was still hanging by a thread so to speak if she doesn't find a permanent solution to her problem.

But thinking about it again, just where did the points come from? It was just given to her by the system without explaining where and how did she get it.

She was about to ask the system when the arm around her waist moved and she heard a deep, charismatic voice above her head.

"But you look worse than earlier," Kaisar told her and helped her sit back on the edge of the bed.

"You shouldn't move around too much since you just woke up." He added.

Earlier, while Kaisar was on his way back to his flat so he could take a bath and change his clothes when he received a call from Yang Chao telling him that the lady in the crime scene woke up.

He immediately turned his car around and drove towards the hospital. Usually, he wouldn't be this impatient and concerned but somehow, he couldn't stop thinking and worrying about her.

The strange phenomenon of a ghost turning into a human, it shocked him greatly that he refused to believe it.

There was no way a ghost could turn into a human! They might possess a body like in the movies but having a body materialize out of thin air was no joke at all!

Was he hallucinating all this time and the female ghost who was stalking him was a real human all along?

The more Kaisar tried to think of an answer to everything, the more his head became painful.

Looking at the pale-faced lady, he could tell that her face didn't change at all. Aside from her hair that turned from white to black and her eyes from red to dark chocolate brown, anyone would assume that she's human.

Once she was seated on the bed, Kaisar grabbed a chair. He put a paper bag on the bedside table and sat on the chair.

"Do you remember me?" He sounded harsh.. He accidentally used the tone he was using when he's interrogating a suspect.
