Chapter 7 - Are You Here To Save Me?

Name:My Ghostly Romance Author:Poisonlily
When Kaisar finished talking to his colleague, he noticed that the female ghost who had been haunting him disappeared.

He didn't know where she left and when she did it. In any case, he should be happy and glad to see that he finally got rid of her.

And yet, why was it that he was bothered to see her not where he was supposed to see her.

This feeling was like when he lost his pet dog and felt a boring hole in his life.

Shaking his head, Kaisar shouldn't compare her to a dog. She was a ghost and definitely not worth missing.

Besides, he had to go to the place where the latest sightings of the suspect were seen.

Kaisar changed into a shirt and black pants. He grabbed his gun and put it in his leg holster.

He went down the lobby of his condominium and went straight to his car.

By the time he got past the first traffic light, his colleague sent him the exact location with the GPS where the serial killer was.

The road traffic was fortunately not present the time he drove by. Every second wasted on traffic or accident will cost him the serial killer running and escaping again only to kill his next victim.

When he finally arrived at the location, he found none of his colleagues who were appointed as part of the investigation present. He was the fastest to get there as it was nearby his apartment.

Meaning, he had to either wait for his colleagues to come or take the matter into his own hands.

Debating which choice he should choose, Kaisar was about to pick the latter when the maniacal laugh coming from the house got his attention.

He stood stiff and finally got into action when he heard a loud thud that seemed to shook the entire house.

Slowly, he opened the door and walked inside. He could hear someone speaking inside the house and followed the voice.

A female voice? Kaisar paused in his steps. Was she an accomplice? But that was impossible. They didn't think that the serial killer could have an accomplice as it appeared that the killer does things alone. Also, the investigation they did led them to think that the serial killer was a male and yet, this voice certainly belonged to a female.

Were they wrong to assume that the culprit was a male but in truth a female? Kaisar tightened his hold around the grip and trekked silently forward with caution.

The voice stopped abruptly when he was almost around the corner, Kaisar also had to pause, wondering if he had been found out. However, he was extremely careful not to create a sound that could give him away.

Aside from that, Kaisar was confident with his steps as he trained his body not to make a lot of noise that even his colleagues would jump in a scare when he silently stood behind them.

Reassured with his skill, Kaisar risked it and continued walking. His hands were already raised since the very moment he walked past the gate, ready to shoot if things go awry.

And when he finally passed the corner and ended up in the living room, the sight before him put a great shock on him.

In front of him, the living room was a mess. The couch was upside down and against the wall. The wallpapers were ripped, revealing the bare walls. Some of the floorboards were also missing, looking almost like an abandoned house if only there was no one inside it.

In the middle of the living room, Kaisar's eyes took notice of the lying body next to the feet of the two individuals standing across him. He already assumed that it was he too late to save the victim as there was no movement he could see from where he was.

However, what made his body stiffen from what he was seeing was not the mess in the living room nor the body. It was the fact that two individuals standing before him, one of them was extremely familiar to him.

It was the female ghost!

What was she doing here? Kaisar thought to himself as he looked straight in her eyes.

He was overwhelmed with shock and disbelief that she was in that place and by the fact that the man beside her was holding her by the throat.

Suddenly, as if his body moved by itself, Kaisar's finger on the trigger found itself ready to shoot. He didn't care whether he shot the serial killer because there was something inside him that didn't like that the female ghost was being held by her throat.

"Raise your hands above your head!" Said Kaisar. His voice was deep and huskily low with an authoritative tone.

Chen Gao didn't like his tone but his hands paused anyway.

Anyone would probably be forced to obey what he asked them to do. There was just something in him that made people think of a ruler instead of a simple man.

And unlike anyone, Yang Mi remained unperturbed by his tone and waved her hand in joy, "Hello, Detective! Are you here to save me?"

Kaisar's eyebrows tightened at her question. His face remained calm and stoic, not betraying him and not letting her realize that he could see her. He didn't come here for a female ghost. He was there to apprehend the serial killer who killed young women.

He ignored Yang Mi and glared at Chen Gao.

"I said, raise your hands above your head!" He repeated his order but Chen Gao didn't move and kept his hands around Yang Mi's throat.

It was a strange thing to see. If not because Kaisar could see Yang Mi, others who couldn't see her would think strangely of Chen Gao's outstretched hands. His hands may look like he was holding something but there was nothing in there once people looked at it.

On the other hand, Yang Mi obediently complied with his order and raised both her hands.
