67 Why'd You Leave?

After she calms down a bit, Ren looked at his suit which is already drenched with Ha Eun's tears.

He took out his phone and call for Xue Mei.

"Babe.."

"Yes?"

"I can't go in. My suit.."

"Send her home. Text me when you're done."

"Hey..how about if you go with me?" He tries to persuade her.

Thinking for a moment, she already promises with Risa that they will go to eat after she was done.

"Erm...I promise Risa tonight. How about, next time?"

He turns to look at Ha Eun. She extended her hand like asking the phone from Ren.

"Umm, wait a sec. Ha Eun wants to talk to you." He handed the phone to Ha Eun.

"Xue Mei. I don't want you to misunderstand me. Between me and him is over. We already move on. It just that.."

"Relax...I don't misunderstand you guys at all. I trust him so I will trust you too. Go home with Ren and get some sleep, okay? Just promise me that you won't do anything to my boyfriend."

"Xue Mei..how can I be thankful to you?"

"Ah~ just settle your problem with my boyfriend. Befriend again. But remember, he's mine."

Chuckles, she nods her head. "Mm. Got it. I owed you so much."

"Okay.." She gives the phone to Ren again.

"Ah, I already told her it's okay. But dear, don't do anything inappropriate okay? Or I will be very mad at you." She teases him a bit.

"Good. Be careful then." She said before she ended the call.

Once Risa was out, she smiling and waving her hand to her. And a few seconds later, Xui Li also went to the girls.

"Hey, where's Ren Zhi?" Xui Li asks.

"Oh, he can't join us tonight, he sends Ha Eun home."

"What? And you're okay with that?" He's a bit surprised to see her too calm saying that.

She nods her head. "Yup."

"Wait, hold on. Who is this Ha Eun?" Risa ask.

"Oh..She's Ren's ex-girlfriend. I forgot to tell you about her." Xue Mei said nonchalantly.

"What?! Why you let this girl snatch your boyfriend? Where's your brain? In your butt?" Risa feels a bit mad just hearing those. If that happens to her, she will rip off the girl. That's what she thought but in reality, she couldn't even do that.

"Whoa! Such a harsh word! I'm so offended right now." Xue Mei glare at her.

"Okay girls..enough..don't start to wrestling here." Xui Li calm both of them.

Risa shakes her head in disbelief make Xue Mei laugh softly.

"Relax..I've already talked to both of them. They won't do such a thing. And besides, Risa, you didn't even meet with Ha Eun yet, don't judge her. She's nice. Right, Xui Li?" She turns to Xui Li at her side.

"Well. She is nice. But different people, different perspective. Right?" He ruffles her hair. Agree with her and at the same time, he also did not agree with her.

"Ah~ forget it. Let's eat. I'm hungry." Risa rubs her belly.

"Aha! How about if we eat hotpot? Ren used to bring me to this one place." Xue Mei said with excitement.

"In that secret alleys? In the middle of the City?" Xui Li try to guess.

"Oh, it was Ha Eun favorite place. Never thought that he will bring you there. If you want hotpot there, let's go." He said and led the girls to the parking spot. Today he didn't his drive sports car, but he driving his yellow Jeep.

Within 30 minutes, they arrive at the alleys. Risa's eyes lit a bit seeing so much stall and restaurant that smell so good and there's a lot of people too wandering around the alley finding the spot to eat.

This is like a food street heaven in the middle of the night. Lively and she feels like a food hunter. She wants to try all of them. 'Erm, I'll bring Shou to this place later.'

"Let's go, Risa." Xue Mei pulls Risa's hand to the restaurant that she and Ren go before while Xui Li following behind them.

"Uh...Ren, thank you for tonight." She holds her hand and slightly bows to him.

"Don't thank me. It was all Xue Mei's idea." He replies, standing at the front of her apartment.

When they're still a couple, they bought this two unit with a thought that one day if they married, they want to make it one unit. After all, living just the next door will easier because they can keep an eye to each other.

"She's so kind. I feel so grateful that you're able to find someone like her." She stares on the floor.

Hearing her voice, he tries to not let any feeling which he already buried to rose again.

"Then, take care. I want to change my shirt and back to the dorm." He said before he turns around.

Grab his hand, she suddenly kneeling on the hard floor. Ren Zhi was so shocked by her sudden action.

"I'm sorry!' She said with her tremble voice.

"Ha Eun, what are you doing. Get up." He turns his body and wiggles his hand a bit.

"No! I won't get up until I clear up everything to you." She still owed him an explanation. Thus, she will do it. It is also for her to move on.

Ren Zhi goes silent as he just stands there looking down at her.

"It happens when we're in the first year. Did you remember that I collapse after we're done presenting?" She started.

A flashback starts to fill Ren Zhi's memory. It was a day just like before, at the spring festival. After presenting their art, Ha Eun suddenly collapses and he was so panic that day. He without thinking rush her to the hospital like she gonna die any minutes later.

"They diagnose me with thermal cancer, stage 3 that day." She continues again as her tears start to flow down her cheek.

Like a thunder hit him straight on his chest. His eyes turn a bit reddish as he tries so hard to keep silent and hear what she want to say again.

"I know you might thought this is so cliche. Just my reason that I create and try to get your attention, but, Ren..you know me better. I never lie about something like this."

"Then why'd you leave?" He tries so hard to ask and hold his voice to keep calm.

"I..I had to. I went to find someone who can cure me. I hide my illness from everyone. Even my family didn't know about it." Her voice was already a bit raspy.

"Did you get your cure?" He asks again.

Shake her head slowly, she continues again. "I only get a way to extend it a little. Ren, I only had a year to live." She looked at him with a wet face as her body starts to tremble, holding her tears.
