Chapter 437 - Side Story 6: Song Yi's Rumored Fiance

Han Yue Xiu was not planning to say yes to Song Yi's offer at all.

But upon looking at the pitiful expression on his face, she did not have the heart to say no. Considering that this man had helped her and her family in the past, Han Yue Xiu decided not to be so ruthless and told him that she was going to consider his offer once he gave her his plan.

In the beginning, Han Yue Xiu had thought that Song Yi was planning to start a company that was similar to the one he had sold not long ago. But once she saw the new plan and projects he intended to do, Han Yue Xiu's eyes glinted with excitement, and without giving it too much thought, she had quickly agreed.

It was only after Song Yi had left did Han Yue Xiu began to slightly regret her harsh decision. However, once she thought back about the new project they were going to work on, Han Yue Xiu was excited.

The first few days she came to work, Han Yue Xiu was a bit wary of this man.

Previously, he had caught her off guard and had kissed her. Han Yue Xiu was still a bit scared to spend her time alone with him.

Fortunately, this time, Song Yi knew his limit and did not try to do anything towards her.

He no longer asked her to stay around for overtime and was given her freedom to arrange her schedule. Other than calling her to a meeting or discussion, Song Yi had never gone to look for her. Moreover, he did not try to take the opportunity to be alone with her.

Sensing that he was doing everything because he understood that she was uncomfortable with the way he had treated her before, Han Yue Xiu could not help but smile.

However, just because Song Yi decided that he should not annoy her, it doesn't mean that everyone else was thinking the same.

Not long after Han Yue Xiu had agreed to work with Song Yi, his rumored fiancee, Fang Meng Ran had come over to the office and stopped her at the entrance.

"Miss Fang, what are you doing here?" Han Yue Xiu blinked her eyes when the pretty woman stood in front of her.

Fang Meng Ran's smile stiffened upon hearing her words. "You remember me."

"Of course," Han Yue Xiu said. "You used to come over at the old office in Y City to look for our boss." A thought crossed her mind, and Han Yue Xiu smiled amiably at her. "Are you looking for Song Yi? The office is at level fifteen. You have to register your name at the security and get a visitor pass before you can go up."

Just as she finished her words, Han Yue Xiu turned around to tap her ID card at the entrance, but her movement was stopped by Fang Meng Ran. She shifted her gaze towards Fang Meng Ran's hand which was clutching her arms and looked at her with a puzzled expression.

"I am not looking for Song Yi," Fang Meng Ran said. "I was looking for you. Miss Han, do you have time? I need to talk to you."

Han Yue Xiu glanced at her wristwatch and frowned. "If you wanted to talk, then let's go up."

Fang Meng Ran narrowed her eyes as she thought of the man who was at the office. If Song Yi knew that she had come to look for Han Yue Xiu, he will not be happy with her.

"No. Let's go somewhere else. I wanted to talk to you in private," Fang Meng Ran said. She still knew to control her emotion in a public place.

"I'm afraid that I cannot do that, Miss Fang."

Han Yue Xiu's words turned Fang Meng Ran's face a few shades darker. She opened her mouth to say something and paused when Han Yue Xiu spoke again.

"I'm in a hurry and I have to fix the problem with the server," Han Yue Xiu said. "If you wanted to talk to me in private, how about around lunch? You should wait for me here and I will come over and find you again."

Fang Meng Ran's raised a brow as she watched Han Yue Xiu leave. Then, she narrowed her eyes dangerously when Han Yue Xiu's figure disappeared into the elevator.

She did not know whether Han Yue Xiu was playing tricks on her or not. If Han Yue Xiu decided to play tricks on her and did not show up, Fang Meng Ran would come again and do something to embarrass her.

To Fang Meng Ran's surprise, Han Yue Xiu showed up downstairs during lunch hour. The two head over to a nearby cafe and the two ordered some food and drinks.

Fang Meng Ran had said that she wanted to invite her for lunch, but she did not expect that Han Yue Xiu would have too much appetite. She had stolen her fiance, shouldn't she at least be ashamed?

Once the waiter walked away, Han Yue Xiu turned to Fang Meng Ran and smiled. "Why did you come to see me? What do you want to talk about."

Fang Meng Ran picked up her mug of tea and took a sip elegantly. Then, she looked at Han Yue Xiu with a smile on her face. "It's about Song Yi. Miss Han, you should be aware of our relationship, right?"

Han Yue Xiu pondered over her question for a few seconds and shrugged. "Truthfully, I don't know. Miss Fang, I only knew that you always came to the office to look for Song Yi. But as per what was your relationship with him, I don't know. He never told us anything and I'm not the person who enjoyed the office's gossip that much."

Fang Meng Ran sneered upon hearing her words. "Just because you don't know, does it give you the right to steal other's fiance?"

"Miss Fang, I don't know what you are talking about."

Her smile gradually grew into a mockery smile. "You don't know or were you pretending not to know? Miss Han, not too long ago, Song Yi returned home and told his family that he wanted to break up the engagement between us. And you still wanted to play innocence?"

Han Yue Xiu blinked. Her eyes gradually darkened upon hearing her accusation. "What does your engagement have to do with me?"

"Isn't it because of you? Song Yi wanted to break up the engagement because he likes you!"

Han Yue Xiu stared at the woman who had started to lose her composure with a calm face. She leaned on her chair and crossed her arms on her ċhėst. "And I will continue to ask you, what does that have to do with me? Are you going to accuse me of stealing him from you? Miss Fang, you seemed to misunderstand our relationship. He is just someone I worked with. I don't like him the way you think I did."

Fang Meng Ran sneered. "He told the elders that he wanted to break up the engagement because he likes you. You still think this is not your fault?"

"How is that my fault? He likes me, but I have never said I like him. Why do I have to be blame for something I did not do wrong?" Han Yue Xiu smiled. "I have never done anything that would lead him to like me. Why are you blaming me? Miss Fang, I think you have found the wrong person. If you wanted to him to come back to you, the person you should be looking for is Song Yi and not me. Coming over and attacking me like this will not help you at all."
