Chapter 436 - Side Story 6: Mother Han's Invitation

When Song Yi returned to Capital City again, Mother Han was no longer staying at the hospital and therefore, he could not make an excuse to come over to visit the elderly woman while seeing the girl he liked.

Previously, before he had taken off to City Y, Song Yi had exchanged his contact number with Mother Hand and therefore was aware of her conditions.

Song Yi was relieved upon hearing that Mother Han's surgery has been successful and that she has was allowed to return home and recuperate. He knew that if anything happened to Mother Han during her surgery, Han Yue Xiu would be sad, and seeing her sad was the last thing he wanted to see.

He could still remember the way Han Yue Xiu had cried with a grievance at the side of the road after she found out about her mother's illness.

At that time, he was so clueless about what to do. He was someone who had never coax anyone. Seeing the tears streaming down her face, and how she was wailing made his heart ached. It was a picture that he never wanted to see again.

Just as Song Yi entered his apartment in Capital City, a text message from his friend arrived, informing him that the new company he wanted to set up was ready.

Because he had wanted to follow Han Yue Xiu to Country S, Song Yi had sold his company and had wanted to start anew. Before he could even begin in Country S, Han Yue Xiu and her family had moved Capital City and Song Yi had thought of starting his new company in the city.

He had contacted a few of his friends and they have agreed to help him. They should be able to start working if only he was not asked to return to Y City.

As he thought of the reason he was called back to the old residence, Song Yi's face turned a few shades darker. He had made it clear that he did not want anything to do with that girl, Fang Meng Ran. His grandparents had agreed that he could decide on his marriage, but it was his mother who was persistent on this.

Song Yi did not ask too much in the girl he had to marry. As long as he can be with someone who he can get along with, he would be content.

With Han Yue Xiu, he knew that they can get along very well. They can talk about a lot of things together and the most important thing was that he loved her.

Song Yi sent a message to his friend and tell him to proceed. As he had placed his things in the living room, his phone started to buzz, and his eyes widened as he saw the caller ID.

When he saw Han Yue Xiu appeared at the front door, Song Yi felt his heart tightened and he could not stop worrying that this girl would shout at him and drive him away like previously.

Before he left for Y City, his relationship with Han Yue Xiu had improved and she was less aggressive with him. He did not know what will happen if she would hate him for showing up or ignored him.

"Why are you here?" Han Yue Xiu asked with a surprised expression.

Song Yi shifted his gaze, as he was afraid of her reaction next. "Your mother invited me over."

"Oh." Han Yue Xiu nodded.

It was just that, it has been a long time since the last time she had seen him. She did not expect to see him in the living room. She recalled the way she had treated him previously when she saw him with her mother and was suddenly felt a bit guilty.

Song Yi was wrong when he had tried to do things that she did not like, but she too was not without fault.

"Yue Xiu, you're back." At this time, Mother Han appeared from the kitchen with a big smile on her face. "Then, you go and help me accompany our guest. Lunch will be served shortly."

Before Han Yue Xiu could utter a word to respond, her mother had retreated in the kitchen and she could hear the sounds of her mother cutting the vegetables.

Han Yue Xiu let out a sigh and sat down on the sofa, wondering where on earth was her father at this moment. Since the two had invited a guest to their home, shouldn't they be entertaining their guest?

"How are you?" Song Yi spoke after a long silence.

Han Yue Xiu shifted her gaze to the man and saw the anxiety in his expression.

Her brow raised as she wondered why did this man seem so nervous. Previously, Song Yi was someone who had this confidence air all around him. When did he ever be as agitated?

"I'm fine," Han Yue Xiu answered. It was not as if she did not notice that Song Yi had changed this recently. He was not as forceful as he used to be.

"Han Yue Xiu, I need to talk to you."

She lifted her eyes to look at him. "What is it?"

"Do you remember that I have mentioned about starting a new company?" Song Yi asked. "A few days ago, they told me that the preparation was nearly done. I was wondering if you would be interested in joining us. Not as my employee, but as a business partner."

Hearing that offer, Han Yue Xiu stared at the man long enough to make him uncomfortable.

Just as Song Yi was about to say something and retract the offer, he heard the girl spoke to him.

"I need to look at your business proposal and plan before I can agree."
