Chapter 387 - Take Over the Project

There were many issues to be looked at before they can decide what they wanted to do with the Tourism City project. Even if the mayor wanted to oust them, their shareholders would not necessarily agree.

As the shareholders were still discussing their project in B City, Chairman Li continued to negotiate with the mayor in hope that they will be able to continue the project and cooperation. Meanwhile, both Li Mu Bai and Li Ming Han was working to restore the company's reputation.

However, to restore their reputation in such a short time would be impossible.

Currently, a few of the companies around B City had tried to reach the QL Group and expressed their interest to purchase the project. However, both Li Mu Bai and Li Ming Han was reluctant to let the company sell this project.

They wanted to be able to continue working on the Tourism City, knowing that their cousin, Li Qin Yao had work hard on the project. If the project stayed in QL Group's, their cousin could still work on the project indirectly as an adviser. 

After a few days, someone came to meet Li Qin Yao at the hotel.

Li Qin Yao went over to the coffee house and walked over to a table when she saw the person who was waiting for her. The man stood up and the two shook hands before they took a seat.

"President Mo, thank you for coming," Li Qin Yao said and smiled. "I should be the one who comes over to visit you, but you're here instead."

"Don't worry. I have a few places to visit as well."

Li Qin Yao watched as a waiter walked over with a menu and spoke again, "President Mo, if there's anything you'd like to order, then go ahead. If you don't mind sweets, I can recommend Chef Qin's sweet treats."

"It's fine. Just a cup of coffee will be enough," Mo Cheng Feng smiled. "I had my meal on the flight earlier."

Since the man had declined, Li Qin Yao did not push him. "President Mo, you should know that QL Group was unable to continue with the construction project after the scandal," Li Qin Yao said. Then she told him about the situation that their company was facing.

Mo Cheng Feng stared at the coffee cup and looked up. "How can I help you?"

"President Mo, would you be interested to take over the project?" Li Qin Yao suggested. "Anyway, MH Group is one of the major investors for Tourism City. There shouldn't be a lot of problems if you take over. This way, I won't have to worry too much about the project."

Mo Cheng Feng stared at the girl in front of him for a while and the corner of his lips tilted up into a smile. "With MH Group's current financial, it would not be difficult to convince our shareholders to take over the Tourism City." He stayed in silence for a while and continued, "What are your conditions?"

Li Qin Yao took a deep breath. "I won't ask for too much. Just that, I hope you can keep the QL's staff that has been working on the project since the very beginning. Then, I have to ask you not to make a lot of changes to Zhang's hotel building."

His eyebrow rose. "Even if I wanted to make a change, your husband wouldn't necessarily agree. I understand that he is the major investor in the Tourism City project, correct?"

A chuckle escaped her. "You're right."

Mo Cheng Feng sat there deep in his thought. After a minute has passed, he looked up again. "Alright. I will discuss this matter with our team first and get back to you later."

Mo Cheng Feng simply wanted the project to be completed within time. They have invested in the project and had no intention to let the money go to waste. Since everything had been arranged by Li Qin Yao's team previously, he intended to follow her plan without making too much change.

Although Li Qin Yao wanted to pull out from the project, Mo Cheng Feng would occasionally look for her and discuss the project development with her. In this way, it doesn't look as if she had left the project at all.

A month had passed and Li Mu Chen was brought to court. She faced a few charges and she had immediately pleaded guilty to all charges. Li Mu Chen was fined a big sum of money and sentenced to ten years in prison. 

Li Qin Yao read the news about the court case on the internet and frowned. Knowing Li Mu Chen for years, Li Qin Yao was fully aware that her cousin was not someone who would admit her wrongdoing like this. Li Qin Yao could only guess that the lawyer had advised her to plead guilty to get her sentences to reduce for a few years.

At the same time, the news was reporting that QL Group too were facing lawsuits due to the incident. Although the trial had not reached the end, Li Qin Yao knew that there was no way that they could escape the lawsuit easily.

Li Mu Bai and Li Ming Han will have to work hard to restore the company's reputation.

As for her, Li Qin Yao had been staying home. Since she no longer needed to return to the company, Li Qin Yao would spend most of her time with her daughter. When she was too bored, Li Qin Yao would take the little princess to the hotel to look for her husband.

When the staff saw their young madame with the little princess at the hotel, they could not stop talking about the adorable girl. 

Once they arrived at the hotel, Li Qin Yao had a brief chat with Secretary Tian before she knocked on the door and peeked into her husband's office. Seeing that Zhang Yu Han was on the phone, Li Qin Yao waved her hand and walked in quietly as she pushed the baby stroller in.

Zhang Yu Han's gaze softened upon seeing his two favorite girls. He ended the call quickly and walked over to his wife.

"Mrs. Zhang, are you here to invite me to lunch?" Zhang Yu Han asked before he leaned in to give his wife a peck on her lips.

"Hmm… Are you busy?" She smiled. "You don't have to end your call quickly just because we showed up."

"It wasn't an important matter." He pushed a few strands of hair behind her ears and took his chance to ċȧrėss her cheek. 

"Really?" Li Qin Yao tilted her head sideways and raised a brow. She seemed to overhear that Zhang Yu Han had told the person on the other line to do matters discreetly.

"Of course," Zhang Yu Han smiled and bent to kiss her lips again. "What can be more important than you?"

At this time, Zhang Li Xue made a sound and continued to chatter. It was as if she was dissatisfied that her parents seemed to forget her existence.

Seeing the way that the little princess was complaining, Zhang Yu Han lifted her from the stroller and kissed her on both cheeks.

Zhang Li Xue shrunk her neck, feeling a bit ticklish at her father's kisses. Then, she retaliated by gnawing at her father's shoulder as he hugged her. 

Zhang Yu Han ignored his daughter and turned to his wife again. "Have you looked at the news?"

"Hmm..." Li Qin Yao nodded. 

Looking at her face, Zhang Yu Han knew that his wife was in low spirits after reading the news about her cousin. "Are you pitying her?"

Li Qin Yao shook her head. "Of course not. Mu Chen is my cousin. But if I continue to be soft-hearted towards her, I am afraid that someday, she would do something that would harm Li Xue. I cannot let that happen."

Hearing his wife's answer, Zhang Yu Han heaved a sigh in relief. He pulled her into his embrace and frowned as he thought of what he planned to do to Li Mu Chen.
