154 The Game Begins

Linri was in the class listening to Mr Hawk's lesson. He did not know when the event was going to start but he was waiting for it patiently. Honestly, he was surprised that it already became afternoon without the attack starting. His credibility was on the line here! He had already warned three people and all of them were absent from the class. They were either in the dormitory, waiting for the attack to pass or they had left the school for the day which would be a smart decision.

*Wreeeeeeen* *Wreeeeeeen* *Wreeeeeeen*

Sirens started to ring throughout the school. If he was not wrong this sound signalled a disaster and everyone was supposed to take shelter in the closest hideout. Then suddenly the sirens stopped. Everyone was looking around, trying to grasp what was going on.

"Residents of the Autumnfall, from this point onwards all of you are my prisoners. I can hear you asking who am I or what do I think I am doing. Answers to those questions are irrelevant. There is only one thing you have to know and that is the fact that your lives are in my hands. But you don't have to worry, you won't get to live long anyway. There is a nuclear bomb underneath the school and if you want to deactivate it, you are going to have to play a game with me. Those who want to be players gather in the abandoned classroom. You only have half an hour to decide"

A foreign voice had hijacked the speakers to make that speech. The voice itself sounded fake and it was hard to guess whom it belonged to. Of course, since he already went through this event was Linri already knew that it was Ms Snow but to the current students and teachers it was just another terrorist attack. It might even be the second attack of the terrorist group known as Renegades.

"Someone has to be joking right? There is no way that voice was serious" one of Linri's classmates asked. The other students started to discuss it among themselves and some even started to panic.

*Knock* *Knock* *Knock*

Mr Hawk his desk three times to make everyone pay attention to him again.

"Everyone be quiet while I talk with Vice-Principal Zave about this issue. None of you are allowed to leave here. Class president, when I am absent you are in charge" he said while giving them a stern look.

Linri cracked his knuckles and flexed his back. He was feeling really sore, yesterday he wasn't able to get a good sleep. Then he waited for his teacher to leave before taking the stage.

"*Ahem* Everyone, I only have one thing to say about our situation. I think what the voice said was true so if you want to live, I suggest you started rioting and find a way out. Anyway, I am going to the abandoned classroom. While I am away Kris and Riku, you guys are in charge" then Linri yawned and left the classroom.

The others, at first, did not understand what Linri just said. Then it slowly hit them. This was the guy who stood up to One and according to some rumours he already knew about it beforehand. If he is saying that he must know something!

When that thought was planted in their minds, everyone got up from their chairs and started to run to the door and started a stampede. Linri was obviously ignoring the chaos he started and leisurely making his way to the abandoned classroom. At least the first portion of the event was easy and he didn't need to get nervous for nothing.

This event had multiple stages and with each stage cleared some students would be eliminated. The first stage was simple he only needed to solve a riddle, what's more, he already knew the answers to those riddles. You see, the first event was the group stage and the point where they were going to be divided into groups based on the colours their collars had.

The first time he played it, he got a red collar and he was paired up with the Old Pervert Richard. Of course, that seemed fun on paper but that would be before he got the message. After the admins' divine child Old Man James, Richard and Snow were the strongest characters in the school. James was an admin character so he couldn't participate and Snow was the one who orchestrated this in the first place. That only left Richard as a threat to her scheme so in order to deal a psychological blow to him a certain someone had left Richard a note. The contents of the note were so impactful that Richard had actually become serious and he was gone missing by the second half of The Game event.

Afterwards, he didn't appear again until the start of the False God event. Well, the reason for that was actually the fact that TBB, Richard's player, went missing for a couple of months so they had made him an NPC for the second event of the club. I mean he was a Principal and on paper, that was one of the most influential positions in the club so the admins couldn't let it stay in the hands of an inactive character. That's why in the second event Richard was started to be admin controlled like James.

Anyway, should he partner up with him again this time? There should be at least ten riddles and he remembered the answers to two of them. The reason for that was after solving the first riddle Max had waited for a couple of hours without an answer from the admins so he thought he was wrong and changed his riddle. Turns out he was right in both of his answers but admins were waiting for the majority of people to solve the riddles before making a post. I mean instead of answering to each individual your answer was right, or wrong they waited for hours before posting so that people wouldn't be able to solve the riddles by keep guessing.

Well, even if he didn't know the answer to the riddles, he was still smart. He could solve a stupid riddle by himself without cheating, alright? I mean he solved two of them even before inhabiting the body of a certified genius. Now that he had a high IQ brain that was especially geared towards puzzles the first event should be a breeze for him.

Linri opened the door to the abandoned classroom. He wasn't the first one to arrive. Selim and Rondo were already there. Seeing Rondo the silver serpent bracelet gave the red light again but Linri did not jump at the narcissistic paladin this time. Instead, he took out a cigarette and started smoking. Of course, he also opened a window since he wasn't a rude person.

Anyway, he didn't need to hurry to deal with him. Since he was already participating in this event there was a high chance that they would meet in the finals. It wouldn't be too late to kill him by then. The one he was curious about was Selim. He didn't think he would be interested in something like this. Seeing Linri's gaze Selim came to sit near him. Linri offered him a cigarette which he refused.

"I don't smoke. It's bad for your lungs and they are the most important part of your body after your heart. I think it was idiotic for you to start smoking in the first place"

Linri wasn't offended by Selim's remark since he agreed with them himself.

"You are right but I am special. First of all, I am terminally ill, secondly, I don't really care if I die of smoking" he said as he took another puff.

"Anyway never thought you would be interested in this. You didn't seem like the hero type"

"I thought I could kill someone this way. Was I wrong?" Selim asked as he took out his claws. Was it weird that he ignored the part where Linri just said he was terminally ill?

"You weren't wrong but you are not smart enough to pass the first event?"

Selim humphed. He didn't believe what Linri said. This was supposed to be a game, wasn't it? How could it be so hard that he wouldn't even be able to pass the first stage? He must be messing with him.

Linri and Selim kept chatting while students started to fill the room. None of the teachers came as it seemed like they didn't take this seriously. Well, to participate you didn't really need to be in the abandoned classroom. This place was only where Snow was going to announce the riddles. If someone texted you the riddles or told you about them you could still find the collars and participate in the next round.

There was still about five minutes left until the event starts and people in the room were starting to get tense. Well, except for Linri, Rondo and Jin that is. Yeah, somewhere along the lines he had also come here. He was still giving Linri a cold look. Just what the hell did he do to the guy that he hated him this much?
