153 Nanobots

"How?"

Linri looked at the phone in his hand, then to the wardrobe, then to phone again. First of all, they were on the ground floor and behind this room should be open space. How in the hell can there be a cave here?

Okay, let's forget the whole physics aspect of the situation and think about the other problem. How was he supposed to go in there? There weren't any scratches on the floor so this wardrobe wasn't going to move like the hidden compartments behind bookcases. What if he pushed it himself?

Linri tried to push it but the thing did not even move an inch. How else can he get inside? While Linri was thinking about this question Selim popped out of the wall.

"What's taking you so long?"

"Unlike you, I can't go through solid matter like it didn't exist okay? And this stuff just doesn't want to move"

"Your loss"

"What did you see?"

"Not much. Inside there was really dark but I could see a couple of equipment. If I were to sum up the place in one word, it would be Bat Cave."

Linri thought a second before answering back to Selim. It can't really be like Bat Cave, right? Selim must be messing with him. No one would sound so unenthusiastic while talking about the goddamn Bat Cave.

"I think for now you should stop going in there, at least until we find a way all of us can go in," said Linri and walked next to Hayato.

"Did you see anything about the plans of this room inside there?"

Hayato opened a file. Linri could see the room's design but the cave wasn't there.

"Selim are you really sure you weren't messing with us?"

Selim looked at him. Grabbed a random book from the bookcase. Walked through the wardrobe and came back out ten seconds later. Then he threw his phone to Linri. On it, Linri could see a selfie of Selim with the book he just got in his hand.

"Oookay, that answers that question," Linri said awkwardly.

Honestly, he was in a pinch right now. He didn't a secret stash, he didn't find anything online and the only place he found which might have some clues, was inaccessible. He could send Selim in there but he was too dumb and might accidentally trigger something.

"Are you sure that there is no way that we can go in there?" Linri asked Hayato.

"No, there isn't any machine I can hack with my nanobots. I can't anything about that place inside this PC either. My guess is Snow might have some sort of remote she carries in her person that can open it. Unfortunately, I can't hack the lock since I don't know where it is. Duplicating is done. If you don't have any other ideas I suggest we leave"

Linri didn't really have any ideas so what Hayato asked was reasonable. He was always a firm believer of not taking any chances so Linri decided it would be better to leave.

"Fine, by the way, can you still repair the Sentry Guns despite what I did?"

According to their original plan, after Linri waste those machines Hayato was supposed to repair them before they left so that Snow wouldn't find anything out of ordinary in her room. However, with the damage he did Linri was a little sceptical.

"No problem, just find me a ladder and we are good to go"

"Okay then stand just there" Linri pointed below the guns and Hayato walked there.

[Ice Wall]

Linri created an ice wall under Hayato's feet so that he can reach the machines. Hayato was about to trip when he was suddenly shot into the air but soon regained his balance and then took out a knife.

"Take out the ice" Hayato ordered Linri which he complied. He gathered the ice that was still stuck inside the guns and turned it into a gauntlet that covered his other arm. Actually, now that he thought about it he looked pretty cool! His left arm was covered in a black/red bracer while his right arm was covered in a blue one.

While Linri was admiring himself and how cool he looked Hayato cut his palm with the knife. If he was going to repair these things he was going to need much more nanobots than he usually used. I guess it is time for us to talk in-depth about Hayato's primary ability [Nanobots]. As you might know, they are little intelligent hackers that bonded with him as a result of human experimentation. They usually reside in his bloodstream but thousands of them reside on the surface of his skin to be used in emergencies or hacking stuff. However, whenever Hayato needed to use a great deal of them he needed to create a wound on his body so that they can come out of his bloodstream. The bigger the wound, the more nanobots he could use.

With these nanobots, Hayato can hack virtually anything. Of course, they had some drawbacks but Linri did not remember the exact details since it wasn't a combat-related ability. Anyway as a second option he could virtually repair any machine with his nanobots, however, if they have any parts missing he would have to replace them with nanobots. That was why he couldn't repair something that was bigger in size than himself. His body was full of nanobots, yes but he could not create something out of nothing. Each time he used the nanobots to repair something they would be gone for real. Afterwards, those who were left in his body would create new ones with the minerals inside his body. Hence why he needed to ingest a lot of iron and zinc.

If Linri was not wrong in his [Ex-Burst] Hayato was going to gain the ability to create a giant weapon to shoot his enemies and his [Evolution] was going to give him the ability to create weapons with his nanobots. As long as he could imagine it he would be able to create that weapon. Yeah, Hayato was one of the characters that started out as weak then became strong later on. Unfortunately for him, in the club, those who were strong became even stronger after their [Evolution] so Hayato was at this weird spot. He was stronger than the non-evolved people but weaker than the evolved. Well, that was only looking at the raw abilities, that is. After all, if you were smarter than your counterpart you could beat anyone in a war of words which was basically what they did back in the club.

From Hayato's wound blood started to spurt out but then the blood slowly started to coagulated and turned into little balls of black. Then those tiny little blood balls slipped through the cracks and went inside the guns.

"Done," Hayato said as he climbed down the ice wall.

"Is that it?"

"Yeah"

"Well, okay then," Linri said as he shrugged. Anyway, with this, they were done.

Linri gathered the ice wall onto his own body and created a full-on heavy armour that was protecting his body. With the armour, he looked like a towering giant. Even if he wanted to he wouldn't be able to walk inside this thing but the good thing was he didn't need to. He could use [Ice Manipulation] to move his own body. The only negative point was the fact that it was freezing inside this thing but Linri solved that problem with his [Body Heat Manipulation]. He made his body slightly colder than the ice so that it wouldn't freeze him to death.

Actually, now that he thought that way he wondered how the specifics of his secondary ability worked. Like why didn't he die even though he lowered his own temperature below what should humanly be possible? Was it also affecting his own metabolism and give it the ability to survive in that temperature? Could he also drop the temperature of the body parts that were not connected to him anymore? Like maybe his blood? Couldn't he weaponize his own blood if he could spray his enemy with it and then suddenly raising its heat or dropping it? That would work well as an amazing surprise attack. He needed to test it when he had time.

---

After sneakily leaving Snow's room everyone went their own way. Linri got rid of his ice armour by shoving it into the shower and opening the hot water. Honestly, it was really hard to deal with the aftermath of using his own powers. Why did no one address this issue in those books or comics?

Usually, after a main character casts his elemental magic the thing just disappears. How!? Then why didn't his own ice disappear? Once he created it, that was it. There was no way to get rid of it aside from letting it dissolve into water. At least, when it came to that matter, his fire was easier to deal with. Don't get him wrong, the fire was also the same. It didn't disappear on its own but Linri could just snuff it out with his [Fire Manipulation].

After dealing with the ice Linri sent three messages to three people on his phone. It was to Silfy, Brie and lastly the guy whose name he couldn't remember. Then contents were simple 'there is going to be another attack tomorrow'

The moment he sent the messages his phone started buzzing but Linri just turned it off and slept. The Game event was finally about to start!
