Chapter 41 - Zues himself?!

Barry clenched his fists and stared at Wells for what seemed to be like forever, but in actuality, only two seconds had passed.

*SWOOSH* They both blasted off towards each other at the same time, each of them going towards the young Barry Allen, one to save him, one to kill him.

Barry threw a kick at the advancing reverse flash. Wells side-stepped and reached out for the little Barry.

"Oh no you don't," Barry said and released the spare lightening he had left stared up in his suit.

Wells halted his advance and put his arms forward to block the electricity.

During this scuffle, Nora Allen, Barry's mom who had already noticed them by then grabbed little Barry and hugged him tight to her c.h.e.s.t and started to run away from the house.

" Out of my way Allen" Wells roared.

"Why do you have to take this path, Dr. Wells. You can fight alongside me. You'll earn the respect and recognition of the people"

" I said, Out Of My Way!"

Wells grabbed, Barry by the neck, and at the same time, released a huge burst of electricity from his body. The burst enveloped the entire house!

" Arrgh" Barry screamed in pain, some part of his suit tore while the exposed part of his skin fizzled and burnt. He dropped to the floor in defeat.

" Give up Barry" Harrison said and walked towards the mother and son who didn't make it out of the wave lv destruction in time.

Some parts of the house collapsed on itself after the surge of energy hit it.

Barry who laid on the floor gasping for breath, looked up and from the corner of his eyes, he saw Nora Allen, tightly clutching little Barry in her embrace, blood from her mouth. It seemed the rubble fell on her in her bid to escape the house.

She looked at the little guy in her arms and smiled, "It's a good thing you weren't hurt Barry. Be a good boy and gt out of here and go meet your father for help. I'll be okay", she said before she coughed up another mouthful of blood.

Barry, the flash, looked at her and tears began to fall from his eyes uncontrollably.

Wells crouched beside her and whispered softly into her ears, "Let me put you out of your misery"

Barry heard this and his heart churned. Anger started to rage inside him like a flame that just won't be put out.

Then suddenly an autonomous voice rang out, out of the blue, " Criteria met. First Genetic Cross unlocked"

Desc: Ability to control lightning with a single thought.

Barry g.r.o.a.n.e.d in pain as his body was getting used to the sudden change that overwhelmed his body. All his cells started regenerating at a speed visible to the eye. Lightning courses through his entire body, his eye flashing blue lightning repeatedly. Barry steadily stood up and glared at Wells, Lightning cloaking his body lightly.

" Back the hell off" he muttered

Wells stared at him before jabbing his arm towards Nora's heart.

Barry sped off towards him, He was surprised himself as she grabbed Wells hand and arched it backwards, using his free hand to hit Wells at the side of the ribs. Lightening surrounded his fists as he hit Wells and he thought he could hear the sound of ribs cracking.

Wells was sent spiralling away, letting out a muffled groan as he did. Buried under the pile of rubble of the destroyed house.
