Chapter 321 - We Get To Know-II

"Black. Black..." Kwon Huan took his hand over Seojun's eyes, waving to bring back back the man from his trance. When Seojun's finally snapped out of his mind Kwon Huan offered him a look, "Are you alright? You have been behaving strange since we left Mr. Lee's house."

Seojun's eyes shifted to look at the ceiling of Hunters' base and turned back with a calmer expression, "I was wondering how there are vampires who wasn't on path with the opinion we have on them. We used to see them as bloodless, cold hearted monster. But it didn't seem so."

Kwon Huan pulled a smile and brought his head up and down, "We might believe this but it doesn't stand to the Hunters who lost their families to vampires. As we know more than us took this job as Hunters out of hatred for vampires. It is hard to change the opinion of the people who suffer loss."

"It won't be easy. When life is loss, no one can forget the hatred," agreed Seojun and he looked away. It won't be easy either to convince others that Seoyeon wasn't dangerous— that she is not as lethal as other posed her to be. When he saw her earlier, Seojun could see how his sister was still the same as she was. Though he might have scarred her in the worse way possible.

"Where did you go earlier?" Kwon Huan then asked, stiffening Seojun's neck.

Did Kwon Huan found out? asked Seojun in his mind. He turned with a naive look, "When do you mean?"

"When you slipped from the study room. You disappeared for quite a while."

"I went to look around, I thought you would be alright questioning Mr. Lee as he appeared to be compliant to our interrogation to find Mr. Jung who is known to be close with the catalyst. But I wonder where they are now. With their condition, they shouldn't be able to run far away or move between city," said Seojun, feigning confusion.

A chuckle passed by Kwon Huan's mouth, stifling Seojun. He forgot. He had foolishly forgot. Collin was the one who assigned Kwon Huan with him and it was clear why. After his delay for killing Seoyeon, the trust Collin had in him had vanished. Seojun knew how Collin was; the man was a very skeptic person. He must have known his hesitation and even he could tell how terrible he was to act like he didn't care about his older sister when he does. Collin had assigned Kwon Huan to him to keep an eye on him in case he would help Seoyeon, the catalyst and it worked.

"The Hunters had been placed on the border and highways that connect to another city. For now, they should all be on Seoul, unable to run away from this place," Kwon Huan answered and for once Seojun breathed out in relief as it seemed he wasn't caught yet but then his breath choked on his neck when Kwon Huan spoke, "Though I do sense something strange."

"What is strange?" Seojun pulled his brows and hand behind his back, holding his tight fists.

"When we were on Mr. Lee's house. There was no scent of blood but I sensed a presence of something..." drawled Kwon Huan who then stopped and chuckled again, "Of someone."

"There were indeed a lot of servants," Seojun pulled an excuse, "Some of them had scars—"

"I didn't mean the house entirely but the last room we visited before we left where I found you and the Mr. Yu. Apart from you two, I sensed someone there," turning his whole person to face Seojun, Kwon Huan's smile had slipped from his face. "Was the catalyst there, Black? Be honest."

Seojun clenched his hand and unclenched it to let the hidden weapon he set on his sleeve to slide down on his palm. His sharp black eyes fiercely stared back at Kwon Huan's eyes. Their gaze clashed in silence, the tension arises as if one of them made a single odd gesture or a move, the fight will break. A fight where none of them would back down until one soaked with blood of the other.

Back in Lee Young's house, a man slipped from the window. In a soundless move he took his steps toward the woman who sat on the study desk on the corner of the room. His footsteps were deadly silent and he reached out his hand to place his fingers on her shoulders, startling Seoyeon when she felt his palm cover her mouth.

"Miss me?" Jung Hwa pulled a grin over Seoyeon's shocked face.

Seoyeon pulled a frown and his hand from her mouth, "You startled me! I thought it was an enemy."

"I know I was silent earlier but you didn't notice me at all," Jung Hwa slide his bottom to sat on the study desk, his movements smooth as he took one of the book which was left open by her, "Was something on your mind?"

Seoyeon didn't immediately reply, causing Jung Hwa to lean forward and grabbed her chin tenderly to steal her gaze, "I was joking when I mentioned it but I wasn't wrong. What is it that keep you little mind occupied, my lovely kitten?"

Seoyeon was tired to fix him from calling her kitten and she was occupied with more pressing matter that she didn't realize Jung Hwa calling her with his usual teasing nickname, "It was just a few things."

Seoyeon didn't know where to begin. How can she tell Jung Hwa out of the blue that she had just found out that all this time, her beloved younger brother was in fact a Hunter who hunt lives of Vampires and Witches? She knew Hunters were not to blame, in fact, if compared to Associates and the witches, it was clear how Hunters lean more to justice than the rest of the two creatures. But vampires hate hunters with passion, likewise from Hunter to vampires.

The stress kept piling in the back of her mind, and she sighed at it. She thought she was getting closer to the truth, slowly unraveling whatever secret is around her. But rather than untying the knot of mysteries, she only found more mysteries which only tie the knot further into a dead knot.

Jung Hwa took her hands that pressed her forehead, catching both arms on his hands, "Speak to me. I don't know what you wish if you doesn't use that pretty mouth of yours to speak. Sometimes you are talkative but when it's about things that keep you from sleeping you choose not to speak. I am here, aren't I?"

Seoyeon tendered a smile, "It isn't that I don't want to speak about this," her hand clenched under the desk, "But I am also confused."

"About what?" Jung Hwa continue to press.

Seoyeon looked at him, heaving a sigh, it was hard to tell aloud as she was still trying to wrap her mind on what she had just found out. "My brother," and the one word was enough to clear the question in Jung Hwa's mind but he let her continue, "Today Hunters came to visit this house. Mr. Lee asked me to hide but then things turn out and I met him, my brother. He is a Hunter."

Seoyeon then turned to see Jung Hwa's face as he had stopped talking. His full lips were pressed and a line was formed.

"Why aren't you surprise?" Seoyeon asked, unable to help herself from voicing the question.

"Listen to me calmly," Jung Hwa started. He promised not to reveal it before Seojun gather his own courage but he doesn't agree to keep Seoyeon in the dark. She had always been kept in a dark painted with stars which was fake. Her adoptive family was kind to her and they illustrated a beautiful world of a normal human, letting her soar with happiness on the sky by thinking that she was a normal human with a little difficult situation. But they forgot that once a bird had flew too high, when the arrow of the truth shoot them, their body would only fell terribly to the ground.

Seoyeon was calm, at least that what she believed but her eyes betray her mind.

"I and Seojun, we knew each other as hunters and vampires since before he visited my house."

Seoyeon's lips fell slack, "Since that long time ago? You knew?"

"I thought of telling you many times but this is something I cannot decide on my own. I thought I should give an opportunity for Seojun to come clean to you. He had planned to reveal everything on that day," and by that day, Jung Hwa meant the day the catalyst in her rampage which Seoyeon understood.

A part of Seoyeon still didn't want to believe it. No one can easily believe the family they have trusted since young to be someone they don't know and Seojun had hid it so well that Seoyeon never doubted him even for a second.

"No wait. Hwa wait," Seoyeon stopped him from speaking, her head felt aching.

"Are you okay?" Jung Hwa slipped down from the desk, his face marred with worry as Seoyeon slumped her head forward. "Don't stress it."

"How can I not?!" Seoyeon raised her voice only to regret what she did. She clamped her lips, "I'm sorry. I don't mean to raise my voice to you."

"You can yell at me, curse me, I don't mind it," Jung Hwa showed her a sincere smile. "I know you are confused and I can explain it if you allow me to. Or do you prefer Seojun to explain everything to you himself? Do you want to hear about it from his own mouth?"

Seoyeon had never been given opinion by the people who knew more about her than she did herself. Faced with the option Jung Hwa offered her, she was confused with what her heart want. She clenched her hands. She had been kept in the darkness for too long and she wish for answer, "Tell me about it. About everything. No lies, I want to hear what I never knew all this time."

"Take a seat on the bed," Jung Hwa said first and Seoyeon wanted him to explain everything quickly but knowing his request was out of concern, she stood up and moved to the bed where he sat beside her. "It's going to be long."

"I don't mind," what she worry now was not wasting time but to learn the truth she saw was actually something crafted by others. It was betrayal that she felt right now.. For being kept in the darkness but she tried to learn and understand the intention hidden under her brother's choice.
