Chapter 308 - Catalyst’s Outbreak-III

"Get back now!" yelled one of the witch who had came near the door and it was Junseo. The other witch who came was confused and the confusion didn't take long for them to dig a grave of their own as almost immediately they were thrown over to the nearest wall and turn to white like substance on the ground by Seoyeon.

"Shit!" JunSeo yelled. He was near the broken side of the floor that had cavity down to the first floor. In order to escape Seoyeon's ability, the man ran closer to the edge of the broken fall not knowing there was Taehyung who was near them, appearing behind him.

When JunSeo saw Tahyung raising his hand, a small smile appear on his lips. "This is unfair."

"Speak to the people you have killed," a rush of wind was exerted from Tahyung's palm, causing the man to be thrown from the third floor over the first floor in a mere one minute.

The scream which belonged to JunSeo caught Seoyeon's attention to Taehyung. Oddly, although Seoyeon seemed to narrow her eyes she didn't attack him and she didn't have time to finish Lee Taein as Ava entered their floor from accessing through the broken wall.

"You are not a simple witch," Ava said and she flick her wrist which was holding a machete, "Was this your doing?" questioned Ava while looking at the broken floor. A quarter of the hospital building was lost. She was not there to witness what happen but from afar she did heard a loud booming sound and upon seeing Seoyeon, Ava could tell at once she was the source of the blast.

Seoyeon didn't reply but looked at Ava. Without showing mercy, in interval of seconds light appear from the bottom of Ava's feet. The witchess was quick to know that the light was dangerous and used her flying broom to escape the light before it blasts. The attack, didn't stop there. Ava thought she had a chance against Seoyeon up in the sky but more light surround her even as she soared on the sky.

The witchess was in disadvantage at once without a way to turn the table and raise her chance, Ava escaped all the lights for three times only to notice how every time she escaped, another batch of circular light appear all around her, without leaving a loophole for her to escape.

With blast filling the air, Seoyeon then turned her face to find Taein disappear from the spot, feeling the presence of a person behind her, Seoyeon turned to see Taein stab the machete Ava had purposely threw across the floor for him on her stomach.

Blood filled out from Seoyeon's mouth and seeing her wounded, a crooked grin spread wider on Taein's lips, "Enjoy the pain?"

Taehyung who was busy fighting the remaining witch that had come to attack the hospital was hand tied that he couldn't stop Taein from attacking Seoyeon, only manage to lessen the attack by pulling Taein with his wind magic. He looked at Seoyeon, wanting to heal her but Seoyeon who was stabbed barely had a chance of emotion even after pain was inflicted toward her— as if her nerves that feel pain didn't work.

"Disgusting creature," the catalyst inside Seoyeon said and before long, she raised her hand face first toward Taein, blasting her ability that caused blood to splatter from Taein's face. As if sensing that the fight had ended, Seoyeon made her way to Seulgi again, disregarding her pain and more blood tears fell from her eyes.

"It doesn't work..." whispered Seoyeon whose hand then touched Seulgi's hands, "I was too late, again."

Taehyug wasn't sure what Seoyeon was speaking of and walking toward her was dangerous even if earlier she hadn't attacked him, it appeared that Seoyeon had a deep hatred against dark witches which he couldn't blame seeing Seulgi's body.

Seoyeon fell on the ground her glowing blue eyes flickering its color and as if she was in pain she crouched and held her body. Her fingers then trace the arrow on her back. Taking the handle of the arrow, she then pulled it out to look at the sharp end of the arrow, seeing how potion was mixed.

"Unexpectedly you are quite slow," said Ava who suddenly appeared behind Seoyeon, her hands were ready to slit Seoyeon's neck when more rushes of wind came as Taehyung pushed the woman away from her. "Damn it!" yelled Ava who couldn't use the only chance she had due to the interference. "Taehyung, do you know what you are doing?!"

"Stopping you people from causing more miseries and death. You rip what you sow, Ava. Her power berserk because you have killed someone you shouldn't," Taehyung said, and at that moment, he realized another light came underneath Seoyeon's body. Unlike earlier, however, the scale was much larger and it also covered Seoyeon herself.

"No!" Taehyung yelled when he noticed where the light spread from and to, "You are going to harm yourself too if you do that!"

Ava used the chance to take her broom and soar to the sky. Meanwhile, silence came from Seoyeon and from her side, Taehyung's scream of warning turn numb as her ears didn't catch a single word he said.

Deep inside Seoyeon's consciousness, she was sitting alone in a blank of white room. Seoyeon pulled her knees together as she sat on the ground, "It's not going to work," whispered Seoyeon with a sigh. She had tried finding a way out of the blank white room but no doors could be found near her. She wondered where she was to no avail. Her memories seemed to have gone all of a sudden and she didn't know why she was here or how she had appeared here.

Seoyeon pushed herself to stand. She didn't know where she was but she knew there was something important she needed to do— someone was waiting for her. Standing up, she begin to walk again, pausing her earlier rest to some time later and went to find an exit when she caught a slit of black amongst the white room.

"That's must be the exit," whispered Seoyeon to herself but before she could walk, someone had caught her by her clothes.

"Don't go," whispered the person and Seoyeon found the voice of the woman very familiar to her ears.

Turning her head, Seoyeon found the woman who she had only seen in her dream, Sol Haneul clutched to her clothes, not letting her to leave. Finally it dawned to Seoyeon where she was, but she couldn't help and question, "H-Haneul. Where am I?"

"Your consciousness," Haneul answered. During her dream, Seoyeon had only friction of image of Haneul through mirrors and it was her first time to properly look at Haneul's face only to notice how the woman had resemblance to her face.

"Did you took over my body?" Seoyeon questioned for the woman's black eyes to continue stare at her before she slowly nodded her head, "Is this what you did to other catalysts before me?"

Silence ensued between them for a good three minutes before Haneul nodded again, "They were my vessel."

"So you are the catalyst. The original one?" Seoyeon had thought since seeing the dream that Haneul was the person who had the catalyst inside her but she was wrong. The catalyst was Haneul herself who entered others' body who she called as vessel. "How?" came Seoyeon's next question.

"I borrowed your body, you and the others before you— unwillingly," added the woman.

"And you are taking my body now?" questioned Seoyeon, having the woman nod and faint only appear on her forehead, "I need to get back. You have to give my body back."

"It's better if you stay here," Haneul answered while releasing her hand from clutching to Seoyeon's long white dress. Seoyeon didn't immediately leave to the black slit she saw earlier and because she knew this could be her first and only chance to speak with Haneul who is the catalyst.

Haneul said, "Outside this place there is only sadness and sorrow. Did you forget how your best friend died? It's only the beginning Seoyeon. This happened again and again. Never once was there any difference in our future. We lost our friends, families, siblings, and then our loved one. You are tired..."

"Do you mean by happening again and again, it repeated many times on the vessel who you stayed in?" Seoyeon questioned, she didn't know why but there was more than only familiarity she felt toward Haneul and possibly it was because of her dream, or so she would like to believe but she felt there was more than that.

"Yes," Haneul answered. So all this time Haneul's soul and her power enter other people who she called as vessel? And she was also one of them? Seoyeon asked in her own mind.

"I tried to stop it. I tried to stop all the vessel who I possessed to lose their treasured people but it never work. It doesn't. Fate is playing with us. They resurrect me again and again inside people who suffer because they became my vessel. You also did, Seoyeon which why you had lost your memories in the past," the woman said, sadness could be heard from her voice and a deep sorrow, causing her to feel pain her heart as if it had been squeezed. But it was later that Seoyeon felt the pain in her heart didn't come from feeling sympathy but a physical pain that she felt.

Seoyeon felt all of a sudden her body turn heavy, a stinging pain appear from her back that spread toward her stomach. She clutched her hands over her stomach, "What's happening?" Seoyeon then saw how Haneul didn't seem surprise as if she was the one who had caused the pain in her, "What are you doing, Haneul?!"

"Self destruction.. I learned throughout the last three vessel that maybe dying is easier, Seoyeon."
