Chapter 277 - Meditating The Situation-II

There was a little smile formed on grandfather Jung's face as they both knew Seoyeon was trying to veer the conversation so the air on the table wouldn't turn tense. "I have acquire the land more than ninety years ago. It's a long time even for a vampire. I was still eighteen when I had this house."

"It's a very gorgeous house," Seoyeon continued and she eyed Jung Hwa who looked at her and shrugged his shoulders, as if knowing the warning she gave with her look to not worsen the situation.

"I have heard a little about you Miss Seoyeon, but would you like to tell me more about yourself?" asked Grandfather Jung. For a pureblood vampire, Seoyeon notice the older man was much gentler than most vampires she saw who had that tense air and look when looking at her who was a human.

"What is there to know? She is a woman of the early age of twenty," Jung Hwa replied when Seoyeon was about to speak, "Beautiful face, beautiful voice, good virtue, coming from a good family except that her relatives are people who tried to poison her. They didn't succeed and I succeeded in avenging her past anger, stabbing some hands, breaking some doors. Oh, I forgot to add the sweet blood taste, she is my fated blood. One thing to add is that she is a witch."

As if something had been broken in a loud room, the entire air of the dining room turn stale. Hearing the witch part, the servant who was holding the plates and cutlery set dropped them on the spot and even the head butler who seemed to be of the same age as Grandfather Jung's was knocked sideways with Jung Hwa's casual reply.

Seoyeon gulped sensing people who seemed to look as if they were ready to scream at any moment, the one maid in front of her shifted her gaze to the plate they were eating and looked faint-hearted as if realizing that they had all died for letting a witch inside the house and eat with them.

Slowly, Seoyeon moved to look at Jung Hwa with a resigned look, finding the man instead smiling widely to her, "Don't worry, sweetheart. I know you must be nervous which why I am helping you to introduce yourself. I make sure to praise you, I did good, didn't I?"

A sigh came out from Seoyeon's lips wondering how much of it was true, "You are such a-"

"Bastard?" Jung Hwa cocked his head as if waiting for her continuation. "The worse I've been called is son of a whore, I've repaid their words though." Of course, he would thought Seoyeon. She knew he was someone who won't take it silently when others were badmouthing people that he treasured and thinking that he had put her on that category had her internally happy. She would have smiled if only he didn't dropped the fact now like a nuclear bomb.

"Troublemaker," Seoyeon continued her words and shook her head. She then looked at Grandfather Jung and felt tension beginning to raise from her toes, rising to her heart and filling her nerves with waves of cold fear. It was the same feeling as when one was caught of stealing and even though she wasn't guilty, the dark witches were. She can't tell what was going on inside Grandfather Jung's mind but she can't be sure it would be good.

"All of you are dismissed," said the elder vampire after a while, looking at Jung Hwa with an underlaying scolding look which was easily ignored by him.

Seoyeon guessed the servants would have run and she hoped that they at least would g scream but instead, they didn't move. Jung Hwa raised his hand, "None of us is going crazy and none of you is require to clean the mess you've made now. Go on now on your way, shoo shoo," and only after this did some of the servants begin to move, all of them sent skeptical gazes toward Seoyeon which she could see.

The door was closed, now inside the room was only Seoyeon, Jung Hwa, and grandfather Jung. "Is it necessary for you to do that?" asked his grandfather.

"Delaying the fact would be harder to say. Seoyeon is not the type of person to lie but it will be hard for her to say the truth herself, and it would only burden her with guilt if she kept on keeping it as a secret. I learned that holding secrets would only worsen the outcome of the future and it is much better to say it now."

Seoyeon looked at Jung Hwa, at first she was startled with the way he had dropped the ball of informations but knowing where he came from instead make her feel moved. Grandfather Jung didn't speak but he chose to stay quiet when his eye met hers, Seoyeon felt nervous but the nervousness didn't stay long as the elder vampire chose to smile.

She expected them to continue speak but instead, the elder vampire said, "We should resume eating. I see that my stupid grandson have dragged you all over the fight earlier you must be hungry."

It was quite the opposite, when Seoyeon looked at the food, she can't help but to recall the grotesque image of the bodies that was chopped but she knew that she needed to eat or she won't have the energy to move on into the future. Picking the spoon, Seoyeon begin to eat, catching Jung Hwa watching her from her left.

He then placed risotto next to her plate, "This is easier to digest." And she smiled at his consideration which should be hard for him to understand as Jung Hwa didn't seem to mind eating right after killing and she wondered if he was born this way or maybe he had to get used to it. It was often said how a child was taught would contribute to how they became and that shows to how cold blooded he was, she believe after seeing his kindness that deep down she was a person capable of a good heart as even now he treasured her more than the people she knew.

"Thank you," she whispered and when she saw his smile her heart tingle and warmth spread from her heart all over her body. Grandfather Jung watch over the two with a solemn look. The dinner didn't take long as Seoyeon didn't have much of an appetite.

"Mr. Jung there is a few documents that I wish to discuss with you," said a servant who also work in Jung Hwa's company, hiding himself as a half vampire amongst the human worker.

Jung Hwa gave a nod and he turn to Seoyeon, bending his body to whisper, "I will be going, you can rest in your bedroom but don't sleep."

Seoyeon felt her heart flip and butterflies soared in her, "W-Why?"

"I will be coming there," Jung Hwa said before he noticed what had went to Seoyeon's mind. "I didn't mean it that way but seeing your needy expression is giving me signs that I should put to action what you have in mind."

Blood filled her entire face and head, she looked at him with her eyes blinking, "I wasn't thinking of anything."

"Did you forget I can tell lies and truth?" Jung Hwa teased and she closed her eyes regretting what she had said, as she forgot that ability of his which was very handy but not as much as it is now. "Don't lock your doors and let me come in."

Seoyeon didn't nod but she didn't deny him either. She felt her heart float at his notice. Although some part of her heart wanted to scold him for teasing her, most part in her find it rather delightful to know that Jung Hwa would be spending more time with her as she doubt she would immediately fall asleep alone after going through everything that had happened and the dead which make her to recall the sensation of blood underneath her feet.

Seoyeon watched him leave until the ringing sound of the footsteps disappear. With a sigh she wondered what Jung Hwa was thinking of doing. She finally decided to leave when her heart stopped beating for a second after seeing Grandfather Jung standing behind her who she thought had retreated to his room.

"Uh," Seoyeon offered a smile, unsure of what she should say to the vampire as she couldn't tell how Grandfather Jung had accepted the reveal earlier. She tried to find the answer from the man's countenance but wasn't able to as he didn't let his emotions run through his expression, a skill in which Seoyeon believed the man had acquired from years of experience.

"Do you mind to accompany me to the garden? You have gone through a lot and I want to hear your experience," said the elder man, being a polite. Seoyeon felt tense arise from her foot and she wondered if it was because she didn't want to appear bad in front of Jung Hwa's last family member.

Not wanting to delay the offer, Seoyeon smiled, "I would be glad if you find my company well.." and they left the hallways, leaving to the garden where the older vampire had offered her to take a light walk.
