Chapter 263 - It’s A Mess-III

Amidst the worry and frightened that she felt when she closed her eyes, Seoyeon faintly saw a shadow of a person in the midst of red color. His eyes were as deep as the claret blood all over him, and she saw his broad back that made her feel instantly relieved.

When Jung Hwa turned his face slightly toward her, who had fallen on the floor, Seoyeon looked at his face in a daze. She could not believe her eyes, wondering if this was a view that appeared due to how much she had wanted to see him. Upon seeing him, she felt as though it so Heaven's call and she can't express how happy she was to see him.

When Jung Hwa's hands touched her cheek as he lowered his body to level with her did Seoyeon truly felt the warmth and realized that Jung Hwa was here in flesh.

"Hwa," she called his name. Relief washed her body like a surge of waves that made all the tension that rise on her body to turn lax. "Is it really you?" she asked, wondering if she had perhaps departed from the world and what she saw now was a wish her mind want to make.

In Jung Hwa's eyes she saw the slight panic that she could never see before. After confirming there was no dangerous injury on her body, he looked at her and smiled to ease her worry that captured her mind, "I am real, see-" Before he was able to finish, Seoyeon's eyes widened. The axe witch that had fallen on the ground with his body half severed diagonally raise again from the floor.

Anger twisted all muscles from the witch who was furious with the sudden guest that had come in between his fight, moreover, the vampire had wounded him gravely!

"Hwa-" Seoyeon hadn't warned the pureblood in front of him when Jung Hwa had raised his hand to his back, blood spilled from the middle point of his palm that turned to a crystal-like substance which grew larger and sharper like a spear. Within second, a large hole had appeared on the axe witch's torso, with the spear of blood lunging his flesh.

No one had expected Jung Hwa to use his blood and Seoyeon felt her heart skip when she saw the crimson crystal spear dissolve to blood and the axe witch fell backward with a loud 'thud'.

"I am sorry," Jung Hwa said before touching her cheeks. He can't be bothered with the body that fell behind him and the entire time, his gaze didn't leave her. "I didn't know this would happen, if I do I wouldn't have bring you here." He looked at her arm, seeing the blood trickling and more than hunger, anger consumed his mind. His eyes had turn deeper than the color of red, "I should have minced him."

Seoyeon found the worries on Jung Hwa's face moved her heart. She didn't know until now how she could feel as relieved as she was to see his face. "I am alright, this is just scratches." She then instead looked at his right palm where the crystal spear had formed from and spotted a slash horizontal wound on it. Her hands quickly went to her blouse's sleeve, pulling it to tear the fabric there and use it to cover his wound. Jung Hwa did not stop her or tell her that the wound meant nothing less than an ant's bite, letting her to wrap his wounds.

Seoyeon could tell that the wound on his palm wasn't something he got from an enemy but himself in order to utilize his power. "How did you escape from the Associate's Building? I thought the room didn't allow you to use your power," she said, "This wound came from using your power, right?"

He nodded at her second question, "Before I entered the room, I patted the guard, remember?" Now that Jung Hwa said it, Seoyeon remembered he did. "I put some of my blood there and had it helped me to open the door. I can control it better as the blood was outside the room but it took me some times. I planned to come earlier, thankfully I came at the right time," he said while caressing her shoulder where the axe witch had almost severed them. "Are you hurt deeply anywhere?"

She shook his head, smiling because his worries somewhere makes her feel glad and she didn't know if it was alright for her to feel so. "Later is always better than never," Seoyeon replied to his words, seeing Jung Hwa pulling a smile that for once wasn't due to confidence or joke. "I heard fights from below. Yu Sheen was wounded and Min Beomgyu followed him, I'm afraid they are facing the dark witch alone."

"Okay, can you stand up?" Jung Hwa asked as he reached out his hand for her to stand up. "Should I carry you?" finally he cracked a light joke for a chuckle to leave both her and his lips.

Seoyeon took a better look at him, she could feel the corner of her lips raising even though she knew it wasn't right for her to feel happy at this situation. Nonetheless for the worse not to happen and for them to be able to see each other again had her in immense joy after relieved.

She reached out her hand to his, thinking that everything would get better. What Seoyeon and Jung Hwa didn't expect, however, was that the axe witch had activate one less spell before his death. Even though his heart had stopped as Jung Hwa had confirmed, he managed to utter the last word of the deadly spell before breathing his last.

A large blast centered from the axe witch exploded not far away from where they are. Jung Hwa being the first one to notice after Seoyeon ran toward her, catching her to his embrace.. Seoyeon wasn't able to see anything as she felt her face covered by Jung Hwa's chest and her ears rang as the floors and walls surrounding them went apart.
