Chapter 242 - Court Decision-II

All eyes were glued to Che Hara, especially the family of Chu Sunji and Seoyeon who was curious of what the vampiress would tell a lie. Che Hara parted her mouth to say, "It was Mr. Chu who requested me to break the rule and stayed hidden inside the building," her words surprised all vampires in the building because of how strange her reason was. Why would Chu Sunji asked her to stay in the building?

The murmurs and questions flooded the room and Gwe Jeoknim uses his hand to make a knock on the table, silencing the sounds, "Continue Miss Che."

Che Hara nodded, she quickly speak before Jung Hwa could say a thing out of fear that the pureblood would be able to defend himself or find her lies to expose her. "That evening, Mr. Chu called me, he asked me to be there as a witness. Previous days ago, he had talked to me regarding Mr. Jung. As everyone knows, not too long ago it was Mr. Jung who had broke Mr. Chu's hand. He was devastated and angry about the loss for his arm, and decided to confront Mr. Jung."

"By confront do you mean to attack for his revenge?" Questioned the second judge, and Che Hara disliked this person who had been stepping on her tails, trying to find faults in her words in any moment.

"I don't think it was to attack," said Che Hara responded, "Mr. Chu was agitated that day, he told me to confront and that he knows about Mr. Jung's secret. But I didn't know what secret it was or what the confrontation is all about. He only told me that he held a very important secret about Mr. Jung that could ruin his life."

Gwe Jeoknim exchanges a brief gaze with Lee Young who crossed his arm and ask, "If Mr. Chu sought out for you as the witness, you must be related to this secret. Do you know anything about it?"

"I don't know...Mr. Chu was hesitant and agitated when I pressed him about it. But he then told me about it after I promised him that I would come with him if he told me what the secret was. And it was something about..." Che Hara gulped, wetting her lips and forced the words out from her mouth, "Witches."

As if the surprise earlier wasn't enough, now Che Hara had spoken words that no one in the room had expected her to say.

Witches? Seoyeon raised her brows. Because of the many lies Che Hara had spinned inside the room, she doesn't know which are the truth and lies. But for the secret that Che Hara claimed Jung Hwa had along with the keyword witches, wasn't it related to her?

What if Chu Sunji knew the secret that she was a witch and that Jung Hwa stood to hide her true identity? Seoyeon asked in her mind, her palm had turn cold from the amount of cold sweat that covered her palm. If it is so, Che Hara's lies would make sense.

Seoyeon looked at Jung Hwa, and at the same time, he stared into his eyes. With a smile he parted his lips to speak without breathing any voice in his words, but the two words were caught clearly by Seoyeon, "Don't worry."

Oddly enough, despite how bad the predicament Jung Hwa was in at the moment, all Seoyeon's worry suddenly calmed down by his words, just like a witchcraft.

All vampires rioted over the sudden reveal in the span of few minutes. The hatred and disgust vampires had for witches had grew over the last incident where vampires had been killed and use as sacrificial pawn for the ritual. Upon hearing that Jung Hwa's secret revolves around the witches, people who once was on his side quickly changed their expression with hatred, everyone's first guess was that Jung Hwa had worked in hands with the witches.

"Silence," Gwe Jeoknim warned the guest to calm down. "Miss Che, what do you mean by witches. Since you agreed to sneak with Mr. Chu to the Associate Building, could I take that you know the entire 'secret' you've talked about?"

"I do not know," Che Hara responded to everyone's regret. The judges could tell there were a few point that was fishy from Che Hara's statement, talks about the witches are considered crucial, and her statement made the members on their toes. While most judges and the Associate members were deliberating in whether her words were the true, Che Hara thought that in the entire courtroom only she knew that her words were all lies.

The lies she made popped in her mind the day before. Even if she had lied about the sequence and cause for Chu Sunji's death, there was only her who had seen what happened when he died. No one else knows what happened. Therefore, whatever story she makes would seem believable to others.

But Che Hara didn't know that to talk about the witch would only resulted in her being pressed with more questions. The lies she made was something that she could only come up with, and the Associates wanted details that she doesn't have.

The second judge spoke again, "Don't know? Then why did you agreed to sneak into the Associates? You do know that to break the rules the Associates set is only a little less than the felony the killer did. The rules had clearly stated that if anyone attempt to break into the Associates's building or take what belong of this building they would cut one finger of the trespasser as a punishment. I find it hard to believe that you would sacrifice your hand if Chu Sunji did not expose the secret."

Che Hara forgot about this, she hurriedly said, "Sunji promised me he would tell me all about the secret without missing a detail!"

"That's even more strange," the second judge didn't stop his quick interrogation and Gwe Jeoknim didn't stop him either so they would find out the outcome of this case. "You agreed only from a single promise?"

The suspicions also grew when another judge added, "It's also strange why Chu Sunji want you to be the witness. Can you clarify us what witness did he meant?"

"I...I don't know," Che Hara had created a lie where she thought people wouldn't mind the fine details but she was completely wrong.

"May I know what relationship do you have with Mr. Chu?" questioned the second judge.

"We are friends," answered Che Hara, holding her breath as more question was poured. Her breaths was about to leave when Jung Hwa, who had been silent let a soft chuckle to hang on the silence of the room.

"Close friend," added Jung Hwa. He leaned on the back of the chair as though he was sitting on his room, enjoying a morning coffee with his expression that was calm and unperturbed. "I remember that you two always been together attending to the blood cafés and hotels. We met, don't you remember?"

Che Hara frowned, she wondered if that ever happen?

But now the situation turn worse for her, people who once believe her begin to hold faint suspicions against her even if it wasn't big, Che Hara was afraid that the little spark of doubt could lead to a larger flame.
