Chapter 122 - Feisty Treat

Seoyeon wondered what was the pureblood behind her doing? If he was trying to woo her like how words, he would not push her to the wolf and stayed there while holding her shoulder. Or was this something that vampires would do when seducing their partner. If it was, Seoyeon had to say this must be the worse and by far the most dangerous way to ever flirt with anyone. Fortunately she was stronger in mental than her peers or else by now she would have fainted out of fear with the appearance of the hungry wolf.

With wolf continue to growl on her, she saw the four legs move to make a run to her and she shut her eyes to call his name again, "Hwa!" She hoped before she was bitten he would protect her. While shutting her eyes, Seoyeon could feel her heart racing aloud, the fear and nervousness now coursing to her nerves and she felt like someone who was about to burst. After a few minutes waiting, the expected jump and bite from the wolf didn't come. Seoyeon peeked between her eyelids, carefully until she saw Jung Hwa bending one of his legs on the ground.

Now that she saw him in front of her, she realized the hand holding her shoulders had left without her knowing. She then felt startled, going to stay by his side and saw him raising his hand to the wolf's head and scratch his head carefully with one hand and another to rub bellow the neck.

In one second, the wolf had been tamed under Jung Hwa's hand as he gave him a few rub on the wolf's head and behind its ears. Unlike the way the wolf had growled at her, baring its teeth, it had turned into an innocent wolf, looking nothing less than a dog who had been happy to be rubbed on its favorite places. Seoyeon also noticed how the wolf's tail swung and wagged for more rubs from him.

While rubbing the wolf, Jung Hwa looked up at her with his grin etched wide, "Come here, Seoyeon." He reached one of his free hand to her as if wanting to pull her hand and bring her closer but Seoyeon's eyes fell distrustful at the wolf. She had seen how the wolf ferociously baring its teeth as if wanting to take a bite on her.

"He will not eat you." Jung Hwa coaxed her to come while the wolf enjoyed getting pat and rub.

"Do you know the wolf?" asked Seoyeon. She found it odd with how the wolf was very tamed under him while a moment ago it had growled on her. "Or do vampires and wolves are a team?"

Jung Hwa broke into a chuckle before he lowered the hand he raised for her and covered the wolf's ears with his both hands. Giving the wolf a good ruffled, he responded, "We are not a team or maybe just a little." His eyes went from the wolf's silver ones before going to Seoyeon's black ones, "Remember I told you I was hunting for a certain someone here to this place? It was a hungry hollowed vampire. Ji Hyeang asked me to help him chase the hollowed vampire until we reached this place. At the time, the hollowed vampire had bite to this boy's neck."

To hear that the wolf which looked powerful before having its neck bitten made Seoyeon to wonder if hollowed vampire was even far stronger than she knew. Perhaps last time the hollowed vampire she met was considered the weakest?

"I didn't know vampires could drink wolf's blood." replied Seoyeon to his story.

The wolf tilted his head as if asking for more rubs while Jung Hwa talked to her, "All vampires in general could drink animal's blood there is not necessity to drink humans' blood." His eyes went to her, "But pureblood, they can't drink animal's blood. It have to be the purest blood of humans, painstaking, aren't it?" He paused and say, "But there were many vampires who drink human's blood regardless if they are not pureblood."

Seoyeon raised her brows, "Why do they do that?" If they could live off without humans' blood wouldn't it be better for them to drink animals' blood. As a human, hearing that vampire could drink animal's blood but chose not to, make the questions arose in her mind.

"Because it is not delicious enough." Jung Hwa replied to her question. "Humans' blood are a delicacy to us; there are many taste of blood and it differ to each people. Also there are a few instances where humans blood could become delicious. Like how once a tea tasted bland would become sweet."

"It could be delicious?" She asked his question and he smiled at her wickedly.

He retracted his hand from the wolf, standing up and his hand moved from her shoulders to her neck. His voice fell low, like whispers as if he was sharing a secret just between them, "By making the humans feel fear or aroused. The higher they felt the emotions, the sweeter their blood would taste and the better it would be for us." Jung Hwa could hear how Seoyeon's heart that had calmed down began to raise in an uneven beat, slowly getting louder and louder and hitch when his fingers pressed the part of her neck. "Sounds like a lie but would you want to try?"

Seoyeon saw his brows raised at her, his words were said as a challenge for her to take but she wouldn't fall at the same trick twice.

"No." She sighed, the sigh came from her deepest heart that quivered at his voice trying to entice her. His words resonated in her mind but the question left a deeper impression to her which she couldn't shake off from her mind.. Stared under the his black eyes that flickered to red, she had herself wondered in the close proximity what was he trying to do? She watched how his mouth raised, the upper lips lifting upas he smiled where his fangs that larger than she thought glimmer at her.
