Chapter 104 - Entering The Court-II

Times ticked and as they walked out, Seoyeon who had been quiet out of nerves break asked, "You can tell me now, can't you?"

Jung Hwa stared at her black eyes when lights hit her eyes, he found her brave expression to be lovely and also pulling him closer. "Don't you trust me, Seoyeon?"

The question surprised Seoyeon. It came unexpected that her errant nerves stopped rushing her. Seoyeon turned her face and at some point she realized that both of them had stopped walking. Jung Hwa gave her an expression without a smile that made him felt distant and stern.

In her honesty, Seoyeon spoke with her lips forming to a smile, "Trust has to be built." she replied.

"Does that mean you don't trust me?" asked Jung Hwa with his black eyes gazing down at her.

"I trust you but not completely yet. This is barely our three weeks knowing each other, Hwa." She spoke to him, confessing what she felt, "But I do trust you and it will take more time to grow more and to the point where I will trust anything you do."

The smile appeared back to Jung Hwa's lips, "That's great to hear, even if it's not complete, I'm there away from the start line," as he spoke, his fingers stayed on her ears, "No matter what happen, I will not betray you. You just need to remember that." He gave her a sweet smile and her eyes stared at it for long until his face turned from her.

What does that mean? Seoyeon wondered and she watched him walked away from his spot.

Jung Hwa was a mysterious man of its own. Seoyeon who had known him less than a month find him to be a person with an odd set of personality than people she ever met. It could be because he was a night creature, a vampire. He could be headstrong, weird, narcissistic, and sarcastic. She had also seen his cruelty to other and it made her wondered what could make him the way he is now? There were few things she knows about him and as she took her feet forward, she felt like she would slowly enter his secret.

Following Jung Hwa and the two half vampires, Seoyeon came to a stop when they reached into a large double door. As if the room where she had waited in a moment wasn't large enough, the courtroom was vast in width and size. Before she entered she could hear chattering inside and her palms turns sweaty. There were two men standing next to the door when their eyes met Seoyeon's she could guess they were also vampire and came the thought that she was about to enter a world different from hers.

Seoyeon wondered if taking one step to the courtroom change her life? Deep down in her heart, she doubt she would be able to live normally.

When the door was open, she was first greeted with the lights then silence followed. Her heart drummed in her ears, chaotic turbulence rush to her nerves when she felt a strong hand covering her palm. Seoyeon turned her face to see Jung Hwa. The pureblood vampire smiled, more of a smirk as if he had won something of perhaps he was being rebellious, "Don't get too far from me, okay? Many people here have partners but they love to drink a virgin's blood."

Seoyeon coughed with her eyes wide at him. Her lips began to tremble and her brows drawn together, "What-how do you know if I am one?" She wouldn't let Jung Hwa played his card over and over, "I could have slept with someone."

Jung Hwa's eyes narrowed his black eyes switched to red slowly like an ink spreading to fill the black color to scarlet. "Your lies aren't very convincing, sweetie. I know everything about you, not all but many. This is one of it." He then squeezed her hand and pulled her closer. The squeeze wasn't painful but enough for Seoyeon not to be able to release his hands, "As much as I don't like your jokes where you claim to have slept with someone-"

"I'm not joking, it's an 'if' question,"

"Which I don't like either. The word if, means there would be an opportunity and I will not let you sleep with another when I'm with you, I'm not a stupid-headed mongrels." There was a hint of savage in his eyes as he spoke the words, Seoyeon didn't notice the tone either and saw him smile, "It's great to hear that your heartbeat has relaxed now. Let's go." On his words, Seoyeon raised her brows. Was it possible that Jung Hwa teased her to help her relaxed?

It did work but she didn't know if she should advise him to try it in a different way. But this was Jung Hwa she was talking about. The pureblood vampire has his own ways and thought. Which reminded Seoyeon that Jung Hwa didn't complete his explanation of what she would be going through in the court. Was the trust he asked her about was the answer?

When the door was opened, Rae Neul turned his face, smile was on his lips that he directed at Seoyeon. "Welcome to the court, Ms. Seoyeon. I hope your trip would be pleasurable." Seoyeon returned the man's smile with another one.

She could have swear that the man must have heard everything they were talking about which was why he had been walking very slowly so they could talk. She didn't know if she was thinking too much, but she guessed that Jung Hwa could have a hand in it.

At first when one spoke about the court, Seoyeon thought of courts like the ones she often sees but Jung Hwa's words had proofed her that the court of vampires and humans were different. There were a separate wide and round table at the furthest room with a wide empty path for people to enter and the guests were placed on the right and left side.. The vampires dressed as if they were in the party but not only with how they dressed themselves but their smiles and actions seemed like guests who were enjoying an evening party.
